Thank you all so much for auditioning!! The casting department and production team will be finalizing their picks for the new editions to our BSD fandub team within a week or so. Thanks again for considering this project!
(Appears in Episodes 6-7)
Rokuzō Taguchi is an information broker who provides info for the Armed Detective Agency. An impatient and intelligent young boy, Rokuzō holds disdain towards anyone who wastes his time, especially when it comes to work. He strongly resents Doppo Kunikida's involvement in his life, associating him and the Azure King with his father's death. However, he is not uncooperative towards him, going as far as to agree to dig information about the Azure Messenger and serial kidnappings in Yokohama. Rokuzō has no supernatural ability, but is highly proficient with hacking into computers and gathering information.
For Rokuzo, we're seeking a male Voice Actor with a mid to late teen range. Be sure to emphasize the snarky/sarcastic qualities of your voice, but try to make it come from an attitude of exasperation rather than pure humor. (Hinting that your witty quips are more or less your coping mechanisms for your internal struggles.)
"Y'know, you'd be an excellent candidate for lasik, four-eyes."
"Don't you dare bring Dad into this...regardless, you're a little late. How surprising! What gives? Finally got a GF?"
"I'm guessing he's new, right? My name is Rokuzo Taguchi. I'm an informant."
(Appears in Episode 8. Role will continue on to season 2!!)
Kaji Motojirou is a self-proclaimed scientist and member of Port Mafia. Little is known about Kajii’s past, but according to Doctor Yosano, he is a wanted terrorist bomber who is most well-known for blowing up the Maruzen Building and killing 28 ordinary civilians. Much like his lemon bombs, Kajii’s personality can easily be described as explosive. Kajii is an eccentric, obnoxious, arrogant man with a passion for science and an obsession with the shape of lemons. It is also heavily implied that he is religious, as evidenced by how he explains to Doctor Yosano upon first meeting her that both God and death exist, but that neither of them can be overcome by science.
For Kaji, we're seeking a Male voice actor with a medium-toned, adult range. Don't shy away from acting totally eccentric and bombastic, as those are the qualities that Kaji reflects the most.
"*speaking over train intercom* Testing, testing, 1-2-3! This is your conductor speaking! We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are now going to perform a small physics experiment of sorts!"
"Perhaps two or three of you were affected by that? Well lucky for you, there's plenty more where that came from!"
"Looks like the Agency isn't as formidable as I thought...ah well. But before you go and kick the proverbial bucket, I need you to tell me something. What is death?"
(Appears in episodes 10 and 12. Will have MAJOR role in Season 2!!)
Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald is the current leader of the American Organization known as The Guild. Being the wealthy person that he is, Fitzgerald is very proud, constantly boasting about his fortunes. He is extremely arrogant, and possesses a lot of confidence in himself. He dislikes when his offers are rejected. But he is a determined man who would do anything in order to get what he wants. His ability, "The Great Fitzgerald", allows him to gain more power according to the money he spends.
For Fitzgerald, we're seeking a male VA with a medium to deep, adult range. Since this version of Fitzgerald is heavily based on the real life F. Scott's character in "The Great Gatsby", (Jay Gatsby) try to reflect the mannerisms of that character as much as possible.
"Well...isn't this interesting...this design is quite the rare specimen! What brand manufactured it?"
"Ah, yes, that was my mistake. I had no idea that the Japanese mob would be so incompetent! But I do have a business proposition for you."
"'Money can't buy everything', huh? That's the mantra of the poor."
(Appears in Episode s 11-12, will have MUCH LARGER role in Season 2!!)
Ougai Mori is the leader of Yokohama's criminal syndicate, the Port Mafia. While initially showing himself as an ordinary, clumsy and worried old man, Mori later reveals himself not only as a strategic genius, but also a cruel and merciless person capable of infusing fear on his enemies. Despite being ruthless, he has shown a kind side to him. Mori is a parent figure to Elise, taking care of her and being patient to her whimsical and mischievous nature.
For Mori, we're looking for a male VA with a medium to low, adult range. What makes Mori a particularly threatening character is his ability to shift from emotional tones on a coin-toss. He can appear to be genuinely kind and laid back at times, but can be stern and villainous just as often. So be sure to convey a rather broad emotional range in your audition.
"Don't feel so disappointed! You performed to the best of your ability. You did fail in attacking the agency, and capturing the Weretiger, AND you sank the transport ferry. But you did your best, didn't you? Effort is what's important. Results come second."
"I wouldn't advise running away in this situation. Eh, that is--if you trust the opinion of your friendly neighborhood physician."
"We'll make sure both of those companies are put down. For good."
Elise appears to have an air of childlike nonchalance about everything, while also having some sadistic tendencies. It is later revealed that Elise's behavior is a result of Mori's desires. If Mori wants Elise to be mad at him, then Elise will be mad at him. This is because Elise, though not having an ability herself, is the embodiment of Mori Ougai's ability. Thanks to him, she is capable of flight, can run at high speeds, and materialize weapons out of thin air.
"I thought Rintaro would be sad if I disappeared. I wanted to make Rintaro cry."
"It's not that I hate Rintaro's outfit. I HATE that Rintaro wants me to try it on so badly!"
(Appears in Episode 12. Role will continue on to Season 2!!)
Lucy Maud Montgomery is a young girl who was taken in as a member of the American Organization known as The Guild. Before being recruited, Lucy lived in an orphanage where she was treated horrendously, which in turn created an attitude of disdain inside her towards those who are better off in life. She tends to hide the pain from her past trauma behind a general air of haughtiness and rudeness, and can be borderline sadistic at times. Her ability, "Anne of Abyssal Red" allows her to create a hidden pocket-dimension in which she can imprison whoever she chooses.
"The name's Lucy Montgomery. This is a dimension I've crafted with my very own ability. But fret not, ladies and gents! You can leave whenever you please, right through that white door...assuming you don't want your colleagues back."
"Whaddaya say? Who's up for a game of tag?"
"Hey...how come you're so lucky? Why can't I be in your shoes?? It's so unfair!! You should know what it feels like to be worthless!! You should stay in this room forever!!!"
In order to maintain a constant release schedule (weekly/biweekly episode releases), we also are in need of experienced editors. If you are proficient in Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or any other professional editing software, and are interested in assisting us in editing fandub episodes, please leave a brief audio recording in which you describe your past experiences (leaving a comment and linking your past works would also be preferable), and why you feel that you would be an asset to our editing team.
