Project Overview

Broken Controller is an auditory series about Creepypasta and SCP, stylized much like a radio show. 

Due to recent online reports of haunted/hacked video games, SCP has decided to hunt the games down and contain them. Slenderman, the leader of the Creepypastas, realizes that this could be a threat to their society, and sends off his best hunters to find the games before SCP does.

Currently, the show has fifteen planned episodes, all divided into three phases of five. The first phase will contain the first five episodes.

  • Old Roles, New Roles, What Happened?

    Hello, This is the project director speaking. I have decided to bring to you all an important update regarding this phase of the project. Some of you who have auditioned may have received direct messages from me detailing that we had a new open role known as "Dr. Bright," only to come to the page and find that there was nothing there. The reason this happened was because there was a mixup with past information exchanged between me and Dr. Bright's voice actor. To keep it brief, when I went to our messages to ask him about his lines, I found one of our past conversations saying that he was stepping down from something, but I mistook it for the role of Dr. Bright and assumed that I had forgotten to remove him from the cast document. We managed to clear up the confusion, and I deey apologize for the disappointment to anyone who was told about the role. Oddly enough, there's still another opportunity at this time: The role of Gold. I just added Gold to the casting call, and you can see it if you go to the project's main page. The reason this role was added was due to the absence of his current voice actor. I haven't been able to reach them for months, and we simply cannot work like that, especially considering Gold is part of the main cast. There are more details regarding Gold's character in the actual role description. Please be sure to check it out if you are interested!   • The Elevator Role

    Hello, We wanted you all to be aware that we have removed the Elevator role from the project. The main reason for this decision made by the team is because the number of auditions such a pathetic role had received had greatly exceeded our expectations. We were unsure how to pick from nine people for a practically effortless role. We honestly expected it to be an extra role that people would choose among other roles. We were proven wrong when we discovered that many people only auditioned for the Elevator. The good news is that it was an amusing sight that we'll definitely recall fondly in the future for many years to come, and that we have learned to never do something silly like that again. We apologize for any inconveniences. If you auditioned for only the Elevator role, we advise that you take a look at the other available roles in the project, as some still don't have any auditions at all. Keep in mind that future roles will have many more opportunities when the time comes. Thank you for your interest, and good luck to you all! Once again, we are greatly sorry for any inconveniences.

Steven is a character from the Pokemon Creepypasta known as Strangled Red.

He is a fourteen-year-old trans boy with a casual yet caring demeanor, and plays the role as one of the main characters in the team of protagonists.

Liu is a character that appears on occasion, but is still very important to the plot. He's 43 and he's been through some shit. A no nonsense kind of a guy, super determined to find Jeff, but doesn't really wanna kill him, so he has a soft spot. Probably a deep, gruff voice.

Liu will appear more frequently in future phases of the show.

Melancholy Reporter is Dramatic Reporter's co-worker and companion, therefore he appears in almost every episode for a scene each. He's basically a guy that just got out of college and is absolutely done with everyone's bullshit and is just tired and depressed a lot but you can tell he's sort of trying. Like Dramatic Reporter, he serves as a character that shows how the world is reacting to everything that happens in the show and how it's all affected.

Due to the director's schedule being updated, we will need someone to finalize the audio. Voices, sound effects, music and other additional sounds will all be provided, though you are welcome to create your own sound effects if needed. Deciding who will create what sound effect will be decided during production.

Please acknowledge our payment method: Our plan is to pay the audio editor $25.00 USD by the end of each phase they work with, meaning they will be paid $5.00 USD per episode. This will total up to $75.00 USD by the end of the entire project. The editor will be paid for every episode they complete. Although the editor is expected to commit to the first phase, they are welcome to withdraw after it is completed if need be. If the editor would rather have one of our members perform a creative task for them (ex. Compose a soundtrack, draw a cast of characters, etc.) instead of being paid with currency, that is also acceptable. Mixing both methods is also valid. All payments will be made via PayPal only.

A newly opened role.

Gold is part of the main team of characters in the show. He is from the Creepypasta "Lost Silver" and is often referred to as such by people he's just met, but he stricly prefers being called Gold (the default name of the character he's based on in the actual Pokemon games.)

Gold serves as the navigator and tracker of the team. He is 13, undead, and despite his dark humor regarding himself as his misfortune in many situations, is actually a good sport as is quite caring about his teammates. He also values his life (afterlife?) to a point of easily being spooked. Ironic yet lovable, his friends often look to him for support.

  • "I'm Gold, and I also had Pokemon, but uhhh… something happened? I literally have no idea how I got here."
