Blue Bayou Radio - Fallout Mod

Blue Bayou Radio - Fallout Mod

Project Overview

Blue Bayou Radio is a radio mod for Fallout 4. Includes everything of a base game radio, including music, news, and announcements. So far, the radio has 63 songs and around 200 lines for the host Remy. The radio is based in and around the city of New Orleans.

Overview:
Step into the heart of a fractured post-apocalyptic city, where conflicting religious groups, militia forces, and bizarre rituals shape the fate of New Orleans, now divided between Old Orleans and New Orleans. The city is home to the dangerous, undetonated Big Uncle bomb and a growing number of factions. As the host of Blue Bayou Radio, Remy will serve as the voice of the city, delivering music, news, and interviews with the varied, sometimes violent, denizens of the area.

The World:
Orleans is a chaotic city: the Saints militia enforces strict order within the city walls, while groups like the Children of Atom, the Born Again, the Order of the Iron Crusaders, and the Voodoo Men continue to clash, each pushing their religious agenda. Amidst the turmoil, the Cult of the Mothman quietly spreads its influence, drawing in followers like the anxious and inexperienced Remy, a novice radio host with hidden loyalties.

Interviews:

Beyond the general expectations of a fallout radio, plenty of music (in this case, jazz, gospel, and country), news, general announcements, and ads, Blue Bayou Radio will also incorporate several interviews if able. Hearing the perspectives of multiple curious inhabitants of Orleans, Remy will conduct interviews on the current situation of the city. The interviews are an optional side of the mod and the roles are not required. As the interviews are waiting to be implemented, the amount of lines for interview subjects vary, but will likely be around 10-30.

Requirements:

There are no requirements for any of the roles beyond decent audio quality and the ability to send files. Remy's voice and gender are not set in stone and I'm open to any voice style.

Role assigned to: Kikashie45

General

The lead and only necessary role for the mod. Around 200 lines as of now. Can be either male or female voice, can be adjusted.

Character

Remy is a recent arrival to Orleans and the nervous, well-meaning host of Blue Bayou Radio. A secret member of the Cult of the Mothman, he struggles to keep his beliefs hidden while navigating the bustling, faith-driven chaos of the city. His inexperience and uncertainty often seep into his broadcasts, creating a charming but awkward persona. Despite his nerves, Remy’s passion for music and genuine curiosity about Orleans’ many colorful characters shine through in his interviews and commentary and bad jokes.

  • Uh, folks, just a quick update... so, the Big Uncle bomb, its still there, undetonated and attracting a lot of attention from some different groups. The Saints, of course, they've got it, uh, heavily guarded, but the Children of Atom and the Born Again... well, they've both been sniffing around.

  • Blue Bayou Radio thanks Maison de Soleil Inn—'Where the lights are always on, and the food's always hot.

  • You know, I'm not entirely sure what or who Mack is from the song, but he sounds like big trouble.

Optional roles. Roughly 10-30 lines, depends on interview. Would prefer ghoulish voice, but any general female is fine.

Character

Sister Livia is a devout preacher of the Born Again faith, delivering sermons with fiery passion and an unwavering belief in the cleansing power of ghoulification. Though resolute in her convictions, she balances her zeal with a calm and approachable demeanor when engaging with outsiders.

  • Becoming a ghoul, for us, is not a curse—it’s a sign.

  • Big Uncle represents a choice—destruction or salvation. The Children of Atom may see it as their altar, but we see it as a test from the Lord Himself.

  • I’ll admit, our methods are bold. Baptism is not for the faint of heart. But faith requires strength, and the world we live in demands it.

  • Big Uncle is no mere bomb. It is Atom’s heart, waiting to beat and spread His glory across the land.

  • To feel the warmth of Atom is to be embraced by creation itself. Every glow, every flicker of the Geiger counter, is a hymn of praise.

  • We do not fear the flames of battle, for in every explosion, Atom speaks.

  • New Orleans is a mosaic, each tile a piece of the past. The trick is knowing which pieces fit together and which were placed to cover something up.

  • The swamp is alive in ways most can’t see.

  • I’m just a student of the past, trying to make sense of the present.

  • The bomb’s under our protection, and that’s not changing. Anyone thinking otherwise can take it up with the firing squad.

  • The Born Again and Atom folks? They’re pushin’ their luck. Old Orleans is already a war zone because of them.

  • We keep Orleans safe, plain and simple. Without us, this city would fall apart overnight.
