Blood Eagle Ep. 1 Open Casting Call
Project Overview
Hi everyone!
Blood Eagle is a passion project of mine set within the BattleTech/MechWarrior universe. It is an audiovisual series (not quite a fully animated show) featuring an fully animated intro sequence, partially animated story points and imagery, soundfx and audio design as well as professionally narrated and voice acted story elements. It will be uploaded to YouTube and likely various other social media platforms.
It is written/narrated in the 1st person by Strykar Ingolsson, a boy born and raised in the Rasalhague Military District of the Draconis Combine. It is somewhat written as a memoir, following him and his big sister, Alina from childhood as they grow up and become adults and turn into MechWarriors themselves. It follows their journey in Rasalhague and the story of the Rasalhague Free Republic between the Ronin Wars period (3034) and all the way through the Clan Invasion in 3050 and beyond. It is a story of heartbreak and loss, love and comedy, action and comradery.
The current character needed cast for the first episode is Freyja. She is a veteran member of the Tyr, a secretive violent resistance movement within the Rasalhague Military District that seeks to liberate the Rasalhagian people from the Draconis Combine's tyranny and oppression. She is calm and collected, and she has definitely seen some shit to say the least, but she is not without her own humanity. In the scene, the Tyr had just suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the Draconis Combine military and ISF (secret service) forces. There are few survivors left as they huddle at their now derelict base to raise a final bottle of mead for their fallen friends. One of them - Gunnar - brings the protagonists (Strykar and Alina) to see their father's destroyed Battlemech and explain his unknown past to them. It is here that Freyja strikes up conversation with the children, and shows them their parents - now destroyed - battlemechs.
The voice actress required for this role must be capable of speaking English with a Norse/Norwegian/Scandinavian accent. Currently there are no more lines written for Freyja past episode 1, so consider this a one-time role. If for some reason this changes, I will contact whoever is cast again if they're interested in continuing.
Freyja has a total of 7 lines of varying length, so whoever is selected shouldn't need more than 20 minutes of recording time - max - to complete the lines. Thus the pay is flat rate, and reasonably priced to reflect the time required.

Freyja is a talented, mature and middle-aged MechWarrior and was a close personal friend to both parents of Strykar and Alina.
After the crushing defeat in the Ruinin Hillside, it has demolished her soul. Despite this, she is friendly, warm and empathetic to the recently orphaned children. She tearfully recalls many of the good things she remembers about the children's parents, while showing them their inherited birthright.
