Before Your Eyes
Project Overview
Before your eyes is about 'The Great Life of Benjamin Brynn', more plot below. In this audio drama, we aim to add a new perspective of a fixed pov from Benjamin, we hope this adds depth to the story.
This audio drama will hopefully be the debut (if not debut, then one of the first) audio for 'Sound Realities' which is a project to bring exciting stories in the form of audio drama's to listener's ears.
The script for the story is done, but whilst casting is in full swing I will be editing with it to hopefully be perfect by the time of recording for it.
PLEASE LEAVE YOUR DISCORD AND/OR EMAIL SO I CAN CONTACT YOU
Plot:
Benjamin "Benny" Brynn floats on a dark sea, before being picked up by a boat helmed by the Ferryman. Benny is unable to speak or gesture. The Ferryman explains that he senses something unique in Benny, and is bringing him to the Gatekeeper for judgement. If deemed worthy, Benny will be allowed to enter the Gatekeeper's paradise and the Ferryman will be rewarded; if not, Benny will be turned into one of the seagulls that frequently crowds the boat. To facilitate this, the Ferryman asks him to recount his memories so that he may be able to spin a tale for the Gatekeeper. However, he explains that Benny will be unable to stay within the memories, as they will flash forward without a moments notice.

Benjamin Brynn, also known as Benny is the so called main character of Before your eye's as the story is about him but they will have the third most lines.
Benjamin has so little lines as he's more the narrator than an actual character.
I want a calm monotone voice. Something of a young adult that sort of sounds like a child. Just try you're best and if you send in auditions I will try and provide notes.

Can't I just stay here, in this moment, forever.
I snuck out that night. Not even sure I had a reason, maybe just to get a break from my room.
"The great life of Benjamin Brynn. His childhood was a happy one, growing up in a loving home, raised by loving parents in a quaint village by the sea."
Elle Brynn is Benjamin's mother and the wife of Richard Brynn.
She definitely has the most lines by far, which go pretty diverse from sad to happy to angry, disappointed, depressed, etc.

Try writing with it. It was your grandfather's, but, I used it in college to write lyrics. Why don't you write the story of your life so far? And then what you're going to do once you get better. That's the story I want to hear.
Knock, knock. You're gonna be so annoyed with me, but, I couldn't help but overhear Chloe reading aloud from what I think was your story the other night. I know, I know. I promised myself myself I wouldn't eavesdrop, but, I would love to read it if you'd let me. What do you say? You know I'm such a big fan of anything you do.
The quiz said find the zero, and he just drew an arrow pointing to it. [richard lines] I mean, everything is wrong with that,
Richard Brynn, the father of Benjamin and the husband of Elle Brynn.
Richard is very heartwarming and tries to see the positive side to everything.
He has maybe the same amount of lines as Ben.

Just go in there and tell him you loved it. [elle lines] Okay, don't worry, just go to bed. I'll talk to him. Hey, B. Just want you to know that Mom loved your story. She's just, you know, I think it was just very emotional for her to read it, but, I thought it was great. I mean, look at this. "His childhood was a happy one, growing up in a loving home, raised by loving parents in a quaint village by the sea." I'm certainly glad you feel that way, but what I wanna know is, where'd you learn to write so well? All those cool words. Reads like Dickens! Really, just very cool stuff, kiddo. You should be very proud, okay? Okay, love you, buddy!
Hey Benny, buddy. Did you just throw something? It kind of sounded like you threw your cell phone at the wall. You know, your mom's not mad at you. She's just, well, she's tired, really tired I think. And you know, it's okay if you did throw your phone at the wall. Hell, I mean I wanted to throw my phone at the wall a minute ago. You know what? Maybe I will throw my phone at the wall. You ready? Haha! Did you hear that, Benny? Haha! Yeah, we should throw things more often, It's cheaper than therapy, I can tell you that much.
I remember when you were just four years old. Mom was going through a pretty tough time. Not as tough as now, but, yeah, her music had been rejected, and she was having trouble adjusting to her quiet little lie out here and I feared that I was losing her.
The first love of Benjamin Brynn, who lost her mother a year before they had met and felt all alone in the world.
She acts as if she doesn't care but she cares a lot, she has quiet a few lines.

Wow, didn't think you'd actually pick up. I mistook you for a baby, I apologize. OK, so meet me out in the alley in T-minus...now! Okay? Chloe, out.
Is that- is that really you? It's Chloe, your neighbour. My God, I can't believe this, it's been years. I just walked through the entire show. It's unbelievable. I'd love to walk through it again with you, I mean if you were down for that.
I just can't believe that my entire childhood I was living next to a bona fide genius. I should have guessed it, I mean with all those little drawings you did. Remember when you still drew my portrait, even when I begged you not to? God, you were such a little jerk back then. I kept that drawing, you know. Oh my God, I bet it's worth quite a bit of money now.

It-it's okay, Benny, I understand. There's no need to show me any more. You can come back to me now.
You know for a while now, I’ve wondered if I’m just not a good enough storyteller. If I just don’t have grand enough words, can’t tell grand enough stories. But grand words and stories, I think they may be overrated.
I know just what to tell her. Watch for her now. I’ve seen the Gatekeeper take many forms depending on the soul I bring her. But once you see her, you’ll know. Believe me. I should go get ready.

We want him home from school for a while, just until this nasty thing clears. Hey, Elle, would you mind taking a quick walk with me down to my office? There’s a small clerical thing I need you to look at before I can let you two go.
You are going to be in there for about 30 minutes, so try to get comfortable. You’re doing great buddy. Just a little longer okay?

So what do you think, Benjamin? You think you could excel in that sort of an environment?
Oh. Not to worry. If he’s as gifted as you say he is, shyness is no problem. Why don’t you two come back closer to the end of the year for an audition? We’ll get a few pieces that you can have him start learning. I’m eager to hear what your son is capable of. Hm. So, I understand you were a musician yourself. Where did you study?
In your own time, Benjamin, we are very excited to hear.

You are not here to learn to be painters. You are here to learn to be artists.
Oh, how very wacky and fun these are. It’s very zany. Very kitsch.
Ah, this is divine. So now that you’ve grown your wings, tell me, young master, where will you fly? May I suggest somewhere abroad? This American air can be stifling. Ah, now what to eat? If we both only get appetizers I can afford to go Dutch, otherwise, I thank you for the dinner.
