Lord Vance is cold, calculated, and deeply authoritative. He speaks and acts with precision, never wasting words or movement. His calm demeanor is more unsettling than anger, as he rarely raises his voice — instead, he uses silence and control to assert dominance. He is prideful, strategic, and emotionally restrained, carrying himself with an air of superiority.

He is not impulsive; every decision is intentional and often cruel beneath a refined exterior. To him, weakness is unacceptable, and failure has consequences. He doesn’t rely on brute force — his power comes from intellect, fear, and psychological control.

Voice and Demeanor:
Lord Vance’s voice should be low, composed, and steady, with a quiet but intimidating presence. He does not shout unless absolutely necessary; instead, he delivers threats with calm certainty. His tone should feel dangerous without effort — every word deliberate and sharp. He speaks as though he is always in control, and expects others to follow without question. Make sure it's naturalistic and not theatrical.

Lord Vance (also known as Damion).
His body is entirely blackened from dark magic, with a scorched, almost burnt appearance. He has large, curved horns on his head, as well as additional horn-like structures on his shoulders and elbows. His body is covered in scars, evidence of corruption and past battles.

Requirements: Applicants can be adults — more on the younger side.

Character: Kyle: Kyle is one of the supporting characters in Before Time, a dark, emotionally driven medieval-fantasy series set in Minecraft Java Edition. He appears from Season 1 and continues through Season 10. Even though Kyle isn’t one of the main characters, he has major character development after Season 1 and becomes his brother Ivan’s emotional anchor. Kyle is Ivan’s youngest brother, and his father is Lord Vance. Kyle is often known as a “mama’s boy” and resembles his deceased mother far more than his tyrant of a father, Lord Vance. Kyle grew up — and in the first two seasons still lives — with Lord Vance, serving as his father’s emotional punching bag.

Personality and Traits: Kyle is a sweet, caring soul and a very kind boy. Like Lynx, he is a very scared and shy character, and in later seasons he will show signs of anxiety and panic attacks, as he already shows early signs of anxiety in Season 1. Kyle is quite similar to Lynx in terms of his fearful experiences. He is incredibly caring and often puts others before himself. Even with Ivan — his brother with whom he doesn’t yet share a strong bond — they both still care for each other: Kyle more openly, and Ivan more secretly.

Character: Ivan
Ivan is the secondary main villain in Season 1 of Before Time, a dark, emotionally intense medieval-fantasy series set in Minecraft Java Edition. He is the son of Lord Vance and is heavily influenced by his father's expectations, power, and cruelty. Although initially portrayed as an antagonist, Ivan transitions into a redeemed antihero as the season progresses.

Ivan is a fierce and powerful demigod who constantly tries to live up to Lord Vance’s demands. He is feared for his strength and presence, especially in early episodes, where he embraces violence and intimidation. He takes pleasure in seeing his enemies afraid of him, mirroring his father's behavior.

In the beginning, Ivan is depicted as ruthless, aggressive, and obedient to his father's will. He is dangerous, confident, and unafraid to spill blood to prove loyalty. Despite this, there is a conflicted side to him — he is not naturally cruel, but shaped into it by expectation and fear of failure.

As the season goes on, his internal struggle becomes clearer. Beneath his violent exterior, Ivan has the potential for change. He eventually shifts toward good, showing remorse, growth, and independence from his father. His character arc is one of inner conflict, identity, and redemption.

Voice and Demeanor:
Ivan’s voice should be calm, smooth, and youthful, with a gentleness that contrasts his darker actions. Even when he is threatening, there should be control rather than rage. His tone reflects someone who is powerful but not loud — confident, quiet, and intimidating when needed.

As his character evolves, his voice can soften further, showing vulnerability, guilt, and a desire to break away from Lord Vance’s shadow. Make sure it's naturalistic and not overly theatrical.

He believes that only the toughest can survive, and this philosophy is evident in his training methods, which are rigorous and unforgiving. His abrasive demeanor and sharp tongue are intimidating, and he often pushes the group to their limits, both physically and mentally.

Michael's voice should reflect his stern and intimidating nature. We're looking for a voice that sounds rough, aged, and fierce. Think of a gravelly tone, filled with years of hardship, that can convey both authority and a no-nonsense attitude.

Even though he works at the shop that hassnt been doing well as for his wife being too pregneat (heavy) and his mum is to old and he is too injured and his son is to young to work at the shop they struggle with money and with food and drinks (barley enough) he still is a funny and heart warming man. 

Family: Moriah Wood (wife), Abby Wood (Mum), Lynx Wood (son - one of the main characters -Already casted). Alice Wood (unborn baby girl), Lewis wood (DEAD- dad).

Voice: A soft, warm, tender, poorly voice.

Character Description:Abby Wood is an elderly, ill grandmother who brings humour and charm to the story. Despite her age and frailty, she’s sharp-tongued, feisty, and hilariously flirtatious. While she can be harsh in her words, Abby’s heart is kind, and her playful nature provides comic relief in tense moments.

Jason is a deeply caring and loving father, doing his best to raise Kara and her younger brother, Jacob, while dealing with his own grief. Despite his loss, Jason remains a strong and supportive presence for his children, offering wisdom, comfort, and unwavering love.

When his wife was alive, Jason was a fun and devoted husband, often bringing laughter and warmth into their family. He is a man who balances strength and tenderness, making him both a protector and a source of encouragement for those he loves.

Voice Description:Jason’s voice should convey a warm and fatherly tone, with a strong yet gentle quality. It should reflect his tender nature when speaking to his children, but also carry a reassuring strength that demonstrates his resilience and steadfastness. A subtle depth of emotion should be present, hinting at his grief while maintaining his role as a loving and dependable father.

Character Description:Jacob Armstrong is a sweet and innocent 5-year-old boy. He adores superheroes, ninjas, and all things adventurous. Jacob looks up to his older sister, Kara (a main character, casting TBD), with unwavering admiration, seeing her as a true warrior. Despite his young age, he has a big heart and a lively imagination.

Jacob’s father, Jason, is a significant figure in his life, while his mother, who passed away when he was very young, will have a speaking role in Season 2.

Thomas Wood is the manger of the doc yard where Lynx, his nephew, works there. Lynx Is one of the michan characters (Already casted). Thomas Wood is a a gentle and a caring young uncle towards his nephew, family and workers.

Voice: A gently younger man voice.

These are very minor roles with only a few lines across two episodes.

The characters are twin brothers who tragically meet their end, being murdered in the storyline. The twins need to sound the same. They are Hunter (lynx bully) minions.

Casting Details:

• Two younger boys will be cast for these twins.
• Actors cast for these roles can also be double-cast to voice another character if they’d like a larger role in the series.
• Twins should have distinct accents to differentiate their voices.

Voice Description:Daisy’s voice should be soft, warm, and gentle, with a sweet and timid tone that reflects her kind and unassuming personality.

Character Description:James is a stable boy who works diligently for King Lark and Queen Katherine. Although his current role is humble, James carries a rich and complicated history. A veteran of the war that occurred years before the main characters were born, James lost his parents during the conflict, leaving him a poor orphan with no choice but to fend for himself.

Despite his struggles, James has grown into a compassionate and loyal young man. He is a few years older than the main characters, starting season 1 at 22 and turning 23 by the season's end. His experience, maturity, and resilience make him an invaluable ally. Near the end of season 1, James steps into a more prominent role by joining the knights on a vital mission to arrest Ivan and Kyle and to thwart Lord Vance’s plans. His courage and determination shine in these pivotal moments.

Voice Description:James’s voice should radiate kindness and warmth, reflecting his nurturing and empathetic nature. It should carry a tone of quiet strength, with subtle hints of weariness from his past struggles. His voice should feel approachable and genuine, portraying a man who has endured hardship yet remains steadfast in his loyalty and moral convictions. It should also convey his growing confidence and bravery as he takes on a more active role in the fight against Lord Vance.

Name: Prince Phillip of Duba

Personality:
Prince Phillip is an arrogant, selfish, and egotistical young prince. He is a few years older than Ruby (age 20 in Season 1). Phillip is often frustrating, annoying, and a spoiled brat who gets under Ruby’s skin—and the audience’s. In Season 1, he serves primarily as comedic relief while still being irritating. However, as the story develops, he begins to grow into a more layered character. By the end of Season 1, he marries Ruby, which sets up his more significant role in Season 2 as a supporting character/tritagonist.

Characteristics / Appearance:
Phillip has a tanned complexion from his homeland of Duba, striking duty-blue eyes, and short light-blonde hair. He carries himself with a princely air, though often exaggerated to highlight his arrogance. He has faint stubble/facial hair, suggesting that he is still young but trying to appear older and more regal.

Voice Direction:
Phillip should have a slightly deep voice with a sharp, pitchy edge that reflects his arrogance. His tone should capture a smug, entitled, and self-important personality while still allowing room for comedic timing. An accent is welcome if it adds to his princely yet pompous character.

Character Description:Adam Wilcock is a 12-year-old boy, the same age as the main characters Lizzie, Alex, Scarlet, and Jax. As a childhood friend of the group, Adam shares a close bond with them, though he is a few months older than the others. There has always been a hint of a budding connection between Adam and Lizzie, a playful and subtle "something" that sets their dynamic apart.

Adam moved away to a different kingdom (on another island) a few years before the events of Season 1, but his return to Mytheria is spurred by the growing threat of Lord Vance. Before his return, Adam worked as a talented chef in the palace of the king and queen in his new kingdom. Despite his young age, Adam is known for his intelligence, wit, and charm, which make him stand out among his peers.

His role in the story, though brief, is significant. Adam’s return reawakens the bonds of friendship with Lizzie, Alex, Scarlet, and Jax, while his cleverness and resourcefulness contribute to the group's efforts. His eventual death adds an emotional and impactful moment to the narrative, underscoring the stakes of their battle against Lord Vance.

Voice Description:Adam’s voice should carry a sense of youthful intelligence and charm, with a gentle and approachable tone. It should have a warm and charismatic quality that reflects his cleverness and likability, while also hinting at his deeper, more mature nature despite his age. His voice should draw listeners in, effortlessly conveying his sharp mind and good heart. When voicing Adam, subtle shifts to express vulnerability or courage during intense moments will elevate his character’s depth.

Character: Lynx Wood.

Age: 12 years old in Season 1

Personality and Traits: Lynx is the most shy and withdrawn member of the group. Like Scarlet, he struggles with forming connections because he fears losing the people he grows close to. He’s a quiet boy who has only one real friend—Tiffany—on whom he quietly nurses a crush.

Coming from the poorest background of the group, Lynx has endured harsh living conditions for most of his life. Despite this, he is exceptionally skilled with bow-type weapons. Aside from his spiritual weapon, he is the only one who consistently uses a bow. He is also capable with knives, but his true talent lies in archery—he is the best target shooter and never misses.

Lynx deals with significant anxiety and hesitation. He experiences panic attacks and recurring bouts of sickness throughout the season. He is also the only member of the group who doesn’t easily accept the destiny placed upon them, often feeling like he doesn’t belong, even though he is loyal and deeply cares for his friends.

Hardworking, gentle, and quietly resilient, Lynx works at his uncle’s shipyard. He once hoped to join his parents’ shop, but with his mother sick and heavily pregnant, and his father home from war with a broken leg, Lynx had to take responsibility despite being under 18. The shipyard pays very little, leaving his family in poverty. Out of desperation, Lynx turned to stealing to survive, earning him a reputation as a thief and the resentment of many villagers—even though he never wanted that life.

Voice and Demeanor: Naturalistic; can have a fairly high voice for a male. Soft-spoken, hesitant, emotional.

 Casting Call for "Before Time" – Lead Role: Alex Owen Farmer

We are casting for the role of Alex Owen Farmer, one of the main characters in Before Time, a Minecraft roleplay series filled with emotion, heart, and character-driven storytelling.

• Applicants must be teenagers or young adults with a naturally youthful-sounding voice.

• Naturalistic acting is essential. We’re looking for someone who can convey raw, genuine emotion with subtlety and realism.

Relation to Main Character: He is Lizzie’s older brother by a few months (Lizzie is already cast and voiced by the creator).

Alex is a kind-hearted and caring boy. He's often described as the "golden child" and is his mother Emma's favorite. Alex loves his family deeply, especially Lizzie, and tries his best to support and protect her through every struggle.

He’s gentle, funny, and mature, often helping defuse tense situations. As the season progresses, his fear for Lizzie’s safety grows, and we see a shift in his character. Toward the end of Season 1, the pressure and emotional stress take a toll—causing him to distance himself from others and struggle with the weight he carries.

He’s also deeply loyal to his childhood friends, Scarlet Moon and Jax Moon (both already cast), and is warm and welcoming to new team members.

Alex’s voice should be:

• Calm, smooth, and emotionally expressive

• Able to portray vulnerability, warmth, and emotional highs and lows

• Sounds around age 12 – we are seeking a teenager or young adult with a naturally younger-sounding voice

• Hair: Short, dirty blonde

• Eyes: Deep navy blue

Character Description:
Sylvannah is a powerful and wise witch who serves as Scarlet’s teacher and becomes the main group’s advisor by Episode 2 of Before Time Season 1. She’s older than Lord Vance — who also happens to be her younger brother — and one of the last surviving members of their royal bloodline. Although she’s not a goddess like many of her siblings, Slyvannah is a skilled and respected sorcerer, feared and admired for her strength.

She has a strong presence and doesn’t sugarcoat things, but she genuinely cares about the group — especially Scarlet, who she shares a close bond with. Slyvannah carries burn scars on her arms from using dark magic in the past, a reminder of the sacrifices she’s made and the battles she’s faced. She’s thoughtful, deliberate, and always focused on the bigger picture, though her connection to the group grows deeper over time.

Despite her serious nature, she isn’t cold — she teaches with patience and intention, always pushing the group to grow. She’s a mentor, protector, and someone who’s quietly carrying more pain than she lets on.

Voice Description:
Slyvannah 's voice should sound mature, calm, and confident — someone who speaks with authority but doesn’t need to raise her voice to be heard. It’s a strong, steady tone with a natural sense of wisdom and experience behind it. She’s someone who’s seen a lot and knows even more.

The voice should be stern when needed, especially during lessons or tense moments, but capable of softening in scenes with Scarlet or when showing concern for the group. There’s strength in her silence, and warmth in her quiet moments. A little bit of gravel or an older, more grounded tone could work well here.

Character Description:
Emma is a quiet, serious, and emotionally reserved mother who works hard on the family farm. She’s protective of her son Alex and shows tough love toward her daughter Lizzie, often expecting more from her. Emma doesn’t talk about feelings much, but her care is shown through actions—like making sure meals are ready or checking chores are done right. After the loss of her oldest son Luka, she became more guarded, keeping her emotions inside while focusing on survival and keeping her family together.

Voice Description:
Emma’s voice should be calm, low, and a bit tired—reflecting years of work and quiet grief. Her tone is firm but not cold, with rare soft moments that show she still cares deeply, even if she doesn’t say it out loud.
