Derek Loyal is a prominent supporting character in Before Time, a dark, emotionally driven medieval-fantasy series set in Minecraft Java Edition. He is the father of Melissa (eldest), Peter (middle child and lead character), and Voila (youngest), and is married to Julia Loyal (voiced by [insert actor]).

Derek appears from Season 1 onward, with significant development in Season 2 and later arcs. His storyline explores themes of emotional distance, duty, and hidden love beneath a hardened exterior.

Personality and Role:

Derek is a wealthy, high-status man who manages the village marketplace and all local shops, including his own very successful business. He also oversees other ventures, such as Jason Armstrong’s blacksmith.
