Beetlejuice Animated Pilot "Campus Critters" (Leads + Supporting)
Project Overview
DESCRIPTION:
A reboot pilot of the Beetlejuice animated series headed by a team of long time fans intended to pay homage and bring life back to a fantastic show.
This casting call is for leads, supporting characters, and a few extras. You might not appear in the pilot, but as episodes go into production you will be sent scripts as needed.
PLOT*:
Set years after the events of the 1989 animated series. Beetlejuice and Lydia are back! The departed duo embark on wacky misadventure in The Neitherworld, a land of monsters, ghosts, ghouls, goblins and zombies. They grapple with the not-so-domestic challenges of their life after death together.
*( This project entails many recurring roles and you will be contacted on an episode to episode basis . You may not be in every episode. If you are not cast during this specific call, you may be contacted for future roles ! )
Requirements:
Standard editing software.
A quality microphone.
An appropriately quiet recording space.
Some roles appear minimally in the pilot, but are integral to future episodes and a plot continuity.
Payment for future episodes will be discussed with individual performers.

CHARACTER: Female. 20s. She is an antagonist of a different breed. Overly sweet, sarcastic, preppy, petty. She has it out for Lydia and her creepy roommate, Betty. Penny is a stickler for the rules and isn't at all comfortable with surprises.
VOICE: A vocal reference might be Ms. Fleming from the Broadway recording of Heathers the Musical.
"No offense, Lydia, the other girls think you’re a little, oh, what’s the word… intimidating? Weird? Freaky? Their words, not mine!"
"I just want to make sure you're making this halloween fun for everyone! Not just... uh... people like you."
"I knew it! I KNEW if we left a creep like you in charge, something like this would happen."

CHARACTER: A ghastly, ghoulish dead boy. Roughly aged 12. A chip off the old blockhead. Pox is the chaotic middle child of Beetlejuice and Lydia. Quick tempered. Fast talking. Hyperactive, Aggressive. Small but fierce. He prides himself on being a menace to Neitherworld society. His magic or "Juice" often malfunctions. A Napoleon complex.
VOICE : Similar inflections/mannerisms to Beetlejuice, but the optimal word here is "pipsqueak". !!!Pox could be voiced by either a male or female!!! He's high energy, mischievous, he possesses a great deal of vocal fry/rasp and (being prepubescent) he has an occasional squeak. It's by no means an attractive voice. A good voice model might be Dana Hill's work as Max Goof from Goof Troop.

CHARACTER: 13 year old. Female. Playful, mischievous, fun loving. A Party Animal. Bright and a smart alec. She takes after her father, but her voice does not. Creepie was a pop star in life.
VOICE: Singing is acceptable and welcomed as part of your audition if you so wish. A loose reference might be Linda Cardellini's work as Wendy in Gravity Falls. Not an impression, but a reference.
