Batman: Dark Detective
Project Overview
"Batman: Dark Detective is a story about a Batman 5 years into "The Gotham Experiment" (being Batman). Batman begins this journey by finding out there's been a hit put out on Harvey Dent, who is running for the Mayor position. The hit was put out by Carmine Falcone after Dent stole money from Falcone to fund his election campaign. Roman Sionis, a.k.a. Black Mask, is hired to do the job. Between Batman, Jim Gordon, and a new friend, they must protect Harvey Dent and take down Falcone's crew."
Hello, my name is Aaron Weatherford! I'm the director, writer, and composer of Batman: Dark Detective. This project has been in development for the past few weeks and I've just finished writing episode one. I wanna use this first episode as a teaser to get people interested and hopefully get more help on the project! So, if you like Batman and are interested in helping out, please do and audition below! Bruce Wayne is quiet, reserved, but doesn't strike down a conversation. He's learned to better keep his act up within the past 5 years, but he's still a bit anti-social. He spends most of his time now in the Batcave, or out as Batman. His voice should be soft and it should make the audience lean in.
Batman is a tall, brooding figure that is feared by criminals and respected by MOST of Gotham. Batman uses his scary size and figure to threaten enemies. Usually by scaring them first and then attacking. Batman's voice shouldn't be too deep or raspy. Batman's voice is almost whisper-y and soft like Bruce's, but has a little more depth and volume than Bruce. I want Batman's voice to be scary and threatening, but not loud. When people hear him, they know it's Batman. Take any kind of creative liberties you think would work for the voice, but please do try to stay within these parameters.

(Batman V.O.)
I wait for my call. The symbol in the sky. It can mean hope for one... and the fear of God for another.(Batman getting info from a mouthy thug, angry and annoyed)
TALK! Or I'll break every bone in your body.
Alfred is a warm and caring father-figure to Bruce. He never gets upset or angry with Bruce. He only tries to show his worry and concern for him and he tries to take care of Bruce as much as he can. His voice is somewhat like David Attenborough. Very proper, soft, and kind.
(Bruce walks in from a very long night of Batman stuff)
Long night out? It's 7 AM.
(while working)
What you do is extremely dangerous, Bruce. That makes what I do extremely dangerous as well. We're both risking our lives for this project. I just don't wanna end up losing another Wayne trying to clean up this city.
(talking about Bruce's father)
Everything was treated like business. Much like you, Bruce.
(they share a laugh)
Carmine Falcone should simply be terrifying. He will smile at you the whole time and talk so calm and quietly, but he's terrifying. All he cares about is money. His voice shouldn't be on the goofy side of Italian mob boss, I want him to be taken seriously. John Turturro's version of Carmine is the perfect example (hence the picture).
(to Roman Sionis)
Your brother stole my money. He's a son of a bitch for that. I want you to bring back my money taped to his dead body.
(to Roman Sionis)
And to answer your question... I'll tear down the 4 walls of your life. I've got dirt where there should be gold, Sionis.
(to Sal, after Roman leaves)
I didn't scare him. I just let 'em know what the deal was.
Roman Sionis is an extremely broken character. So broken that he believes Gotham is better in the corrupt state it's in. As a child, during what was named "The Gotham Massacre", his house was attacked and burned down by a rioter. His parents died, his half-brother Harvey left him in the fire to die, and his whole face ended up getting burned before he could make it out. He became obsessed with masks as a way to hide what Gotham did to him. He takes revenge back on the city by simply letting it kill itself. He doesn't have many lines in this first episode, but he will definitely have more to do later in the show.

Harvey Dent is trying to reinvent his life a little. He runs away from his past, and has a lot of unresolved issues. Mostly with his half-brother, Roman Sionis. When he finds out he's being hunted by Sionis, he decides to take his life back and stands up for himself. By the end of this story, he will become Two-Face. Harvey's voice should be calm and collected, and I imagine it to be low and raspy. Taking inspiration from Don Cheadle's character in "No Sudden Moves" (hence the picture).
NOTE: This version of Harvey Dent is Black, so I want to encourage all Black voice actors on here to please come and audition!
(calling to Bruce)
Hey, Bruce! You know to give more than eye contact and a nod when saying "hey" to me! Haha!
(to Bruce)
I want you to write a speech and make an appearance at my next rally!
I came back to this city to do what your father wanted to do with it. He never got to live long enough to see that through, and I wanna see it through for him. This city needs reform, it needs to be taken back.
Sal Maroni in this is pretty much Falcone's dog. He does whatever Falcone says, and that's that. No questions. His voice can be anything you want! He's kind of a goofier character than everyone else, he provides levity where needed. He's a comedic relief, so have fun and don't be afraid to improvise!
(entering Falcone's office)

I ain't slept. You know how it is there.
(pretends to do some club dancing)
Wow. You really scared him there, boss.
