Askdrvoices - A Dangan Ronpa Ask Blog

Project Overview

Dangan Ronpa is a murder mystery video game franchise that is about a bunch of student that are trapped and forced to kill each other. Recently, its popularity has started to spike due to the announcement of a new anime and game. If you’ve been around long enough, you’ll know that there have been countless voice acting blogs for this franchise before. But, unfortunately, most of them are deader than dead.


So, why not starting off anew??


Askdrvoices is a new ask blog that will host characters from all three current games and perhaps more. Once more news is released on the new game and anime and its characters, we are hopeful to bring them onto our cast list as well.


You may perhaps ask, what kind of content will askdrvoices be releasing? Sure there’ll be asks, but is that all? Well, here are a few examples of things that we might like to do in the future:

Comic dubs

Dubs of anything else we can get our hands on

Possible AUs?

….And more!!!


All around, askdrvoices will definitely be a fun experience for all dangan ronpa fans that stumble across it!

A few rules before you audition:


-Be prepared to committ to the blog! It hopefully wont be something that takes up all of your time, but if you’re asked to do something within a certain deadline, make sure you meet it! If you’re constantly just grazing the deadlines, it might come off as you not caring much about the blog, and after a while you might be kindly asked to step down from your role(s). This project is supposed to be fun!! Don’t treat it like a chore.

-Double casting will be allowed. There are a lot of characters in dangan ronpa, and its possible that having too big of a cast will be too much to handle.

-When auditioning for a voice acting role, please make sure your mic quality is at least somewhat good. If we can hear something akin to a waterfall in the background of your recording, we will not be pleased. If you’d like some tips on how to make your recording sound better, you can send us an ask and we can try to help you out.

-It would be HEAVILY advised that you know a thing or two about the franchise. preferably that you are familiar with most of the games.

-We’d like it if our cast members were comfortable with using discord. Skype used to be the big thing with voice acting groups and such, but discord is a lot easier to keep track of. If you are not comfortable with using something like discord or skype due to social anxiety reasons and such, though, that is understandable. But it is recommended, as part of the fun of this blog will be meeting new people.

-Feel free to add in extra lines if you'd like.

-Ask for feedback if you want it. We'll try to be as thorough as possible so that you can get the most out of auditioning.

  • Thanks for all the auditions ^_^

    Ahhh gosh I've gotten a lot of auditions so far!!! And I still know a few people that plan on auditioning, so I'm gonna keep getting more and more!! And that is super exciting to me! Thank you all for auditioning!!!


    I hope though, that when you guys are auditioning, you know there's a lot of things I have planned for this blog besides just answering asks. I listed it in the description, we'll be dubbing things and doing scripts occassionally. I just wanted to remind people that this project will take a lot of dedication!! Of course I'm definitely not gonna flood you guys with mountains of work, we'll try working on one thing at a time, maybe different things for different people. I just wanted to make sure you guys knew that I'm very serious with this project!   • Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome! I am Kotoko Utsugi, in charge of the "Fighters" in the Warriors of Hope. "Fighter sounds manly and all, but my biology is completely female!

  • Speaking of strange things, a kangaroo can't jump backwards! Not only that! Another strange thing is that snakes don't have ears!

  • Being adorbs means being an object of jealousy...being called "Ugly" or told to die. If that doesn't happen...being adorbs just isn't worth it.

Taking on the title of SHSL Good Luck, Makoto Naegi is the protag of the game. According to himself, Makoto is a very ordinary person, to the point that he feels a bit insecure about it. His most distinguishing feature is his unusual optimism.

Voice-wise I would like a low voice. It can be male or female.

Hajime Hinata is part of Hope's Peak's Reserve Department, but later on earns the title of SHSL Hope. Hajime is seemingly cynical due to how he behaves, but it would be better describe him as a realist. He is quite skeptical and tends to worry more than the other students, but his worries are often very justified and understandable.


Voice-wise I'd prefer a medium-low to low male voice. Females can audition as well, but I'd prefer a male voice in the end.

Monokuma is the headmaster of Hope's Peak during the times of mutual killing. Monokuma is a malicious, evil, and cruel bully who would do anything for the sake of despair. When amused, Monokuma often gives his signature laugh, a sadistic “upupupu”.


Monokuma's voice is hard to explain...just...try to mimic one of the official voice actors they know better than I do what to do with his voice lol.

  • Upupu... This heart-thumping feeling of distress... It's just as if salmon suddenly started assaulting people...

Nagisa is the vice leader of the Warriors of Hope, in charge of the "Sage" Class. His specialty is Social Studies. Nagisa is the most serious member of the Warriors. He is calm, intelligent and level-headed. Because of this, he considers himself the babysitter of the other Warriors, often acting as the voice of reason and calming the others down when needed.

Voice-wise I'd like a childish medium voice. Both males and females can audition for this role.

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu is the SHSL Yakuza. Fuyuhiko is initially incredibly stand-offish and rude to the other students on the island. He makes frequent references to his yakuza background, and seems adamant at presenting this sort of “lone wolf” attitude.

The SHSL Detective. Kyouko is a stoic and mysterious girl who tends to hide her feelings. She has a calm demeanor and tends to be completely unfazed by most of the events that occur, even at the sight of a dead body.


Voice-wise I'd recommend a low to medium-low female voice with little emotion.

  • I do trust you, to a certain extent. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t even tell you this much.

  • If you get too involved with someone, you're apt to lose any sense of good judgement. I learned that lesson myself all too well. Personal experience is a ruthless teacher.

Mondo Oowada is the SHSL Biker Gang Leader. Behaving like a stereotypical delinquent, Mondo is foul-mouthed and can come off as a rude individual. He is very easy to provoke, and will not hesitate to resort to violence if he starts to lose his patience.

Junko is the SHSL Fashionista, as well as the true mastermind. Her personality appears to be very apathetic and easily bored, to an unhealthy and abnormal degree. Because of this, her behavior and mannerisms tended to be extremely erratic and unstable by her own autonomous design; keeping up one "appearance" for too long bores her, which causes her to often switch between different personas.


If you audition for Junko, we'd prefer if you emailed us an audition with all of her personalities. (our email is [email protected])


Junko's voice is all over the place, so it's hard to really narrow it down. Her voice would probably be labelled as medium to medium-low normally, though.

  • I get easily bored of my personality. ...Like, I already got bored of my personality who gets easily bored.

  • For me, despair is not a goal, or a set of principles, or a lifestyle, or even an instinct... It's what defines me as Junko Enoshima! It's just my characterization! That's why I'm able to pursue despair with such purity!

Komaru Naegi is the protag of Another Episode and Makoto's little sister. Komaru shows some childish traits, such as being very naive, reliant, and easily excitable. Despite sometimes giving up too easily, there are other times which Komaru shows how stubborn and determined she can be.


Voice-wise I'd like her to have a generic medium-highish female voice.

Chihiro Fujisaki is the SHSL Programmer. Chihiro is very intelligent, but they also have a very meek and timid personality. They are very shy and apologize a lot - it's easy to intimidate them to the point of tears. However, they also love to talk about anything related to their work as a programmer and they become more lively whenever the topic is brought up.


Voice-wise I'd like them to have a medium-low to medium female voice, that is slightly androgynous sounding. Both males and females can audition for this role

  • If you could somehow pour your own soul into the software, maybe then a stong AI could be created. Yeah, I know. It's not a programming term. I'm not even sure how that would work on a technical level.
