Anthologies of Ullord: Divine Saga 2: Cosmic Intervention

Project Overview

This will be our third audio project. It is related to Divine Saga 1: Cosmic Potential (listed in our previous works) in that it involves the gods of Ullord. This project also features speaking roles for mortal characters. This story was written solely as a script; other audio projects originated as a novel and then later were adapted into a script. The setting is a high fantasy world of the writers' creation. Think along the their of Dungeons and Dragons, Lord of the Rings, Fairy Tail or Goblin Slayer.

Divine Saga 2: Cosmic Intervention continues the story and tone that were established in Cosmic Potential which is wry, dark humor about the nature of the deities that govern the lives of mortals; specifically, the gods are not all-knowing, all-powerful beings with all of the answers, gods not having mortals' best interests in mind and the gods' personalities are all counter to the plights of mortals.

All updates of the project will be posted here on Casting Call Club. We will be releasing the final product on Soundcloud.

Also of note, is that we are willing to cast actors who have done work for us before. We are also open to actors being cast in multiple roles. So if you have voiced one or more of our characters in the past and you want to audition again, feel free!

Plot:  A party finds themselves lost in a monster’s lair. They had been wandering for hours and were finding no indication that they were close to the end of their trek. Exhausted, confused and angry at the circumstances, the adventurers are willing to try anything for finding their way out of the labyrinth. The mage of the group decides to summon the god of knowledge to ask for his advice on what they should do. Unfortunately, the spell intended to allow conversations with gods is not foolproof…

Cielle Siimonne

Role assigned to: Embryn

Cielle is a human mage and an adventurer. She enjoys reading and learning various magics. She had been informally taught by a wandering magic user and is thus, not as well-versed in the arcana as formal mages are. She is resourceful, curious and genuinely polite, friendly and calm.

We will consider all voice types for her.

  • I think so. He does admire the pursuit of knowledge and those who seek it.

  • Well, I did successfully summon a god. Arguably it half worked.

  • Look at that. You summoned two deities.

cast offsite

Ratha is a halfling bard who enjoys traveling and excitement. As a wanderer and a minstrel who can do as she wishes, she greatly appreciates her freedom. She plays a flute and she enjoys drawing. She is artistic, impatient, a seeker of adventure and the unknown and observant of others and the world around her.

We are looking for those with a higher voice for her.

  • You know, I miss when monsters used to be incredibly stupid and thus didn’t have mazes in their lairs.

  • Oh, that is a good idea!

  • Your summoning spell didn’t work.

Role assigned to: dustbi

Pravin is a dashing, charming individual that is quick of wit. Whether he or Cielle is to be considered the group's "brains" is a bit of a tossup. He's friendly and charismatic, and though he's hardly quiet, he is soft-spoken. He adventures because there are few other avenues for making a living as a swamp elf.

Pravin's voice ought to be gentle, but any range will work otherwise.

  • Do you really think he’d humor us with an answer?

  • A favor from a goddess could never be a bad thing.

  •  I mean, it’s a longshot, but I hardly have any better ideas myself.

Agnar Warcaller

Role assigned to: Anthony Ray Morales

Agnar fits the phrase "dumb muscle" near-perfectly. Typically brutish and loud, but ultimately good at heart, Agnar is an adventurer as much to help people as to make coin, though he'd not admit to the former. He prefers more direct ways to deal with problems and is straightforward and honest, sometimes to a fault. He can come off as crass and rude at times.

Agnar's voice should be deep and somewhat rough.

  • We’ve been wandering for hours, and now we’re up against an actual freaking maze?

  • So that was a waste of your time, then?

  •  (dumbstruck) Hardly complaining…

Manu, god of knowledge

Role assigned to: deleted101334

Befitting his title, Manu is a wise and sagely sort. He does not typically see fit to pay mortals personal visits, only rarely directly answering their calls for his aid, typically preferring to send clues and omens. However, at the prodding of his brother Pramod, Manu has taken a slightly more hands-on approach with answering mortal prayers as of late, though he's still somewhat new to the experience.

We are willing to consider any sort of voice type for Manu.

  • They seemed so bound and determined to call me here, yet did not seem interested in hearing me speak. Why, exactly, would they do that?

  • So, what about intervening in the affairs of mortals is so appealing to you? This hardly seemed worth my time.

  •   How long do you think it will be before they realize that the path they have taken will lead them back here?

Kala, goddess of the arts

Role assigned to: NinaSumterVO

Kala is the goddess of the arts. She appreciates passions and those who are inspired to complete a goal. She is warm and cheerful, but she is often so focused on a task or a thought that it is difficult to deter her. She is creative and loves the mortals who embody her domain. She and Manu are considered entwined because of knowledge and the arts being closely paralleled.

We are open to all voice types with Kala.

  • You are quite perceptive, young mortal.

  •  And I am so happy to meet you, one of my artistic mortal children!

  •  Then I am glad to give you my favor.

Enkea, god of order

Role assigned to: christianoboyle

Enkea is the god of order. He is quiet, reserved and often an observer, not one for taking action unless he is prodded to do so. He is calm and reflective, but often saddened that few appreciate his domain. He finds mortals interesting, but he does not bond with them particularly well. He is easily swayed into creating consecrated mortals.

We are open to all voice types for Enkea.

  • But, don’t you need me to rule over chaos?

  •  And what does that mean, halfling?

  •  Given how haphazard your casting is, you are lucky to have drawn my attention.

Narrator

Role assigned to: PeteV

The narrator role reads the text that explains the context of a scene. The conversation between word and sound does leave a gap and reading as the narrator fills in everything so the reader will have context.

The narrator can be male or female and we are open to all voice types.

We specifically look at cadence, an even voice and the reading capability of the auditioner.

  • A group  are attempting to find their way through a monster’s lair when they reach a maze.

  • After she realized Cielle’s spell did not work, Ratha, their bard, decided to attempt her own summoning circle with the intent of calling for Manu herself.

  •  Much to the surprise of the mage, Manu appears accompanied by another god.
