Anisa Studios
Project Overview
Hey there, and welcome to Anisa Studios -- our very own digital production agency where anyone and everyone has the chance to showcase their creativity and build on their talents firsthand!
Who are we?
This is Anisa Studios and we’re a duo of creatives looking to inspire others and provide opportunities to improve in all areas of voice acting, musicality, script writing and directing/producing to successfully break into the entertainment industry.
When we first sparked an interest in any of these fields, we found it difficult finding a place to start. It was challenging searching for a job to take on and we often found ourselves turned away or rejected at auditions no matter how much work we put in or how perfect of a fit we thought we were for the part.
That's why we created Anisa Studios. No matter what skill level you’re at and what creative ability you’d like to practice, we want to make art an accessible form for everyone. After all, you can only get better when given the chance.
Here, you can focus on 4 DEPARTMENTS:
Voice Acting
Singing
Scriptwriting
Directing/Producing
To become officially inducted into any of these departments, you must apply through each category's designated "apply now" channels located in our Discord (Voice Acting/Singing submissions are approved/declined the first and third Friday of every month and Script Writing/Directing/Producing submissions are approved/declined the second and fourth Friday of every month). Once inducted, you have the opportunity to work on projects such as MUSICAL SONGS or AUDIO DRAMAS.

Work alongside a team of like-minded creatives to deliver lines for original stories and audio dramas, bringing newly crafted characters to life! [This is not one role, but a studio you can join to audition for many voice acting roles.]
- Compile a list of 5-8 characters from animation you would like to voice-over and select a segment of lines for each around 15-20 seconds long.
- Pay special attention to how each voice actor voices their line and try to use their cadence of speaking while still being original in your own tone of voice. You want to add your own spin on the character! Practice each line over again until you're ready to record.
- Once you're ready to record, you'll need to select a software. If you don't have access to a microphone yet, feel free to use a smart phone or a mobile device and record using an app. However, if you do have a microphone, Audacity (https://www.audacityteam.org/) is a great software to record on and is very beginner-friendly. If you want to buy a microphone for better audio, here are some inexpensive options:
- FIFINE USB Microphone: https://a.co/d/0nVIXxR
- TONOR USB Microphone: https://a.co/d/dKLWMIT
- MAONO USB Microphone (Adjustable): https://a.co/d/iE58s1D
- MAONO USB Microphone (Stationary): https://a.co/d/0MasYVH

- Once you've recorded your Demo Reel in either a software or on your mobile device, it's now time to add some background effects! This includes music and sound effects (SFX). You can typically find non-copyright sounds on YouTube or in the program/software you are using for free. Play around with the effects to make them as true to the original animation of your characters as possible and very enjoyable to listen to.
- Once your done, download or export your recording or video and upload it to the audition form!
Lastly, we aren't looking for perfection -- we're just looking for individuals who have a genuine interest in the voice acting craft and can demonstrate emotion and understanding for their characters with the ability to tell a story. Acting shouldn't feel like acting, but should feel real and authentic, as if the character is truly experiencing their circumstances in real life. Storytelling is one of an actor's greatest strengths above anything else.

Musically portray characters in original Musical Theatre songs and learn what it means to record in a professional vocal environment! [This is not one role, but a studio you can join to audition for many singing roles.]
- Two Contrasting Song Recordings: You will need to include 1-3 minutes of two contrasting songs, preferably in the Musical Theatre category, though they can be in other genres such as a Pop or Rock. Being that they're contrasting, these songs will have to evoke different emotions from each other. For example, one could revolve around joy and love and the other could pick on themes of sadness and heartbreak. If you don't have access to a microphone or a recording software, it's completely okay to record these on a Phone or mobile device! However, if you do have a microphone, we greatly prefer that you use it. If you want to buy a microphone for better audio, here are some inexpensive options:
- FIFINE USB Microphone: https://a.co/d/0nVIXxR
- TONOR USB Microphone: https://a.co/d/dKLWMIT

- Optional Clips of Performance: Being that these clips are optional, it isn't required to submit them, however it's highly encouraged that you do. This gives us an insight to who you are as a performer and how you're able to command an audience on stage. While the experience in Anisa Studios is completely virtual, the ability to immerse an audience into a musical landscape is completely applicable to real-life and recording scenarios. Please submit 1-3 minute recordings of you on stage.
Lastly, we aren't looking for perfection -- we're just looking for individuals who have a genuine interest in Singing and can demonstrate emotion and understanding for their characters (if in Musical Theatre) with the ability to tell a story. Fundamentals of singing are great strengths, but like voice acting, storytelling comes above anything else and choosing songs that showcase who you are as a person and your personal experiences could amount to be one of the best stories you could share.

Craft original and creative stories alongside a team of prospective writers and learn what it’s like to work in a team of directors, producers, and voice actors! [This is not one role, but a studio you can join to audition for many scriptwriting roles.]
- How to Write A Screenplay:
- When writing, make sure that your story has distinct, well rounded characters. With 2-3 pages, it's difficult to include a large backstory for your character, but we should get a sense to who they are and what their purpose is in the story. We should also understand what their motivation is in the plot, and sometimes what they want is different than what they need. For example, a character could be negelcting the help from their peers in an attempt to accomplish a task all on their own. But after feeling an overwhelming sense of defeat upon accomplishing said task, they realize that what they really needed was their peer's help all along.
- It's also important to make sure your story has a clear beginning and an end. The main character(s) should start out flawed and overcome this flaw (whatever it may be) by the end of the story with a clear revolution. Some great videos which comment on the structure of a story are as follows:
Lastly, we aren't looking for perfection -- we're just looking for individuals who have a genuine interest in Script Writing and understand how to tell an engaging and impactful story.

Direct or produce new and original narratives, guiding voice actors, singers, and scriptwriters to achieve your creative vision. [This is not one role, but a studio you can join to audition for many directing/producing roles.]
- You must be determined to make your idea a reality. Often times, directors will have a boost of motivation to create their project at the start but will lose this drive halfway through. As a director/producer, it's highly important to be continuously motivated throughout the creation of a project. You must be available to answer questions, keep your actors and writers on task, and take on the demands of a project with full force, following through until the end.
- You must also be considerate, yet assertive in your directing. When running a project, you will need to be kind to the actors and writers if they are unable to turn lines or a script in on time, yet able to hold them accountable for it if this behavior goes on for too long. When keeping these two traits in balance, this will allow respect to be shared throughout your cast and crew.
- You will also have to be organized. This is especially important as YOU will be the one creating the Discord server where the project takes place. You will need to create channels like "submit lines here", "submit song here", or "submit script here" and regularly check in on your cast and crew to see how they are coming on lines, songs, or script writing. You will also need to set clear deadlines and organize a plan for when the script will be finalized and when lines/songs will be due.
- Most importantly, you will need to be reliable, dependable, and trustworthy. You must be responsive and carry your project through until the end.
