Air Crash Investigation YouTube Video
Project Overview
3 Greens YouTube video recreating and explaining how the accident of Avianca 052 happened.
Avianca 052 was flying from Medellin, Colombia to New York (JFK) in 1990 when significant delays resulted in it holding three consecutive times on approach. The pilots failed to calculate a latest diversion time which resulted in them ending up in an emergency fuel situation where they barely had enough fuel to make it to the airport. A failed approach and further delays resulted in the Boeing 707 running out of fuel and crashing to the north of the airport.
