The protagonist- a rookie defense attorney.
"Your Honor, look at the witness's face? Does she seem amused to you!?"
"Why did I become a lawyer in the first place...? Because someone has to look out for the people who have no one on their side."
"Why do I always feel like it's the end of the world and I'm the last man standing?"
The main antagonist, turned ally.
"The guilty will always lie, to avoid being found out. There's no way to tell who is guilty and who is innocent! All that I can hope to do is get every defendant declared "guilty"! So I make that my policy."
"Thanks to you, I am saddled with unnecessary... feelings"
"I was hoping to come up with a question while I was objecting, Your Honor... I didn't."
"Ah, you're finally awake."
"I-I should have been more careful."
"This is no laughing matter. You did pass the bar didn't you?"
Phoenix's childhood friend- the very first defendant of the series.
"We were great together! We were Romeo and Juliet, Cleopatra and Mark Anthony!"

"Welcome! Please furnish me with the title of your personage! …Your name! What's your name? I was just inquirably asking the title that you go by."
"I am always abso-posi-lutely perfect!"
"The police... the courts... To me they are mere toys. Playthings for my amusement!"
Slightly ditzy, manipulative secretary. Very flirtatious.
"What's it to you, porcupine-head!?"
"Oh Bellboy, is that you?""I like, totally hate your guts!"
The tutorial prosecutor. Fairly nasally and unskilled
"Yes, it seems our defense attorney has sunk to an all new low."
"What about me!? Don't I get to prosecute anyone!?"
"Well, did you, or did you not?"
A good-hearted if silly detective.
"Take a good look at the crime scene photo. Now, a real pro's attention would be drawn here, to this bandana."
"When a detective screws up, the Chief calls him to his office... and makes him listen to the organ for hours.""G-Gumtree...? Gum doesn't grow on trees, pal!"
A very energetic, Southern photographer.
"I saw what I saw! I swear it!""Now which of you is gonna pay for that?"
"Now it ain't polite to talk like that to a young lady. Where are your manners?"
Mia Fey's mentor and a black-mailing victim.
"M-m-my boy, please! You're letting your fancies run away with you! Where do you get these bizarre ideas?"
"Mia! You made our client cry!"
"When you find the evidence you need, present it and rub it into old greybeard's face!"
A talkative, grouchy old security guard.
"Umm... E-Edgey-boy! Help!""...Hmm? My, aren't you a handsome fellow! I'm afraid I'm a bit flustered!"
"*Very Quickly* You spiky-haired cretin! He's not a bad kid, but don't be fooled by his mask! You wouldn't want him on the silver screen without it, believe me. Little old ladies watching would lose their lunch!"
