A Distorted Future (Recast)
Project Overview
Synopsis:
This story takes place on a long-forgotten planet named Neptar.
We look back to the past and relive the life of Mistery; a boy who never feels like he belongs. Born into royalty, he believes he needs to prove himself to those around him. However, in reality, the world's view of him greatly exceeds his expectations. His fellow peers around him hold his skill in such high regard to the point where even he feels overwhelmed.
Unbeknownst to him, something deeper and more sinister lies within this boy, thus his life becomes intertwined with those of immeasurable power. Now he must break out of his shell and move forward to prove his worth, not just to those around him, but to himself.

Info/Requirements:
1. Please keep in mind that this will be a long term project
2. You must have little to no background noise
3. You must have a Discord account.
4. You must be active and respond in a timely manner.
5. Make sure to read the character description(s) in order to get an accurate representation of the role.
6. Many of the scripts are 40+ pages. Each chapter has around 4,000-5,000 words
7. This is a fairly complex and lengthy story
8. I will continue to add more characters as chapters are completed
9. I may push the deadline back if necessary
10. This project will be an audiobook-esque story told through the perspective of the main character; Mistery.

(I recommend at least listening to one chapter in order to get a better idea on how to voice this character, the closer you get the more likely I am to pick you)
Prince Mistery is the main character of this whole story. Since the majority of the story is told through his perspective, this role will be responsible for twice the amount of work, both his conversation lines and the narration lines. So as a quick disclaimer, this role has a very large part throughout the story, expect a lot of lines.
Voice: For this character, I'm looking for someone with a fairly dull voice, a medium pitch. Mistery also has a sigh in his voice every time he speaks.
Personality: Mistery is somewhat of a lazy person, you can see that through appearance alone, and some of his dialogue might reflect that. However, deep inside he's quite a devoted person, he loves to help people, even if he thinks it takes too much effort. However, he has incredibly low self-esteem but masks it by acting very prideful and making a lot of jokes.
(In a narrating style)
We continued to stand outside as the rain began to pour down on us. The streets were empty, but she wouldn't take her eyes off me for even a second.(in a tired tone of voice)
"Do I have to?" *sigh* "Fine..."
"Yeah yeah, I'll get on that soon,"
*sigh* "I swear that old man is going to be the death of me"
(in an annoyed/upset tone of voice)
Everyone keeps talking to me like I'm much stronger than I actually am. As if I'm some great warrior who everyone should look up to. The fact of the matter is, I'm not as strong as you all give me credit for, in actuality, I'm painfully average.
Personality: Rose is a middle-aged nurse for a small high school. She worries about other quite a lot, is very overprotective, and can be a bit "much" at times.
Voice: Her voice should be anywhere in the mid to low range and she should also have a fairly loud and overbearing voice.
"One of the students here found you unconscious just outside the school. You were in pretty rough shape there,"
(this should all be said in a worried tone of voice)
"I'm afraid I don't understand the question,""P-please, take a seat you may have sustained more damage than I originally thought,"
(whispering to herself)
"This can't be, it's crazy,"
(speaking up)"I'm going to have to re-check your vitals, something doesn't seem right,"
Personality: Zack is a pretty reserved kid, he rarely talks to anyone outside his friend group and is generally considered to be quite nerdy.
Voice: Zack has a solid mid-range tone of voice and he tends to stumble over his words when talking to new/unfamiliar people.
"You seem to be new around here."
"I didn't quite catch your name."
(He should be scared/worried)
"W-why are you with her!? Don't you know what she's done!?"
(He should sound impressed)
"I've never seen anything like this before. Are you from a tribe or something?"
Personality: Michael is quite a grumpy man, he runs a small diner and is quite used to getting robbed so he's pretty much done with life at this point. He can also be a jokester at times.
Voice: Michael has a low tone of voice and should have a sort of grumble to everything he says.
"This guy here's our new part-timer. He'll be covering the night shift for me,"
"Oh, I dare those poor saps to step foot on my property. I'll send them packing," *laughter*
"Ah, that's crazy talk. I ain't never heard of any freaks of nature out there. I think you just need a nap,"
Personality: Xander is quite a strong-willed individual. He's pretty self-reserved but is often forced to get into fights to stand up for his friends. He looks very intimidating but is actually quite kind-hearted.
Voice: Xander should have quite a deep voice and he should sound very intimidating, however, his personality should directly contrast that.
"Oh, you're the new kid? Want me to show you around for a bit?"
*sigh* "Ignore them, I'm pretty used to getting stares like that,"
"Damn, who would've thought you'd be the one to shut me up,"
Personality: Lila is a news reporter for a small town as well as a well-known conspiracy theorist. She gets annoyed at other people quite easily and is usually mocked for her outlandish beliefs.
Voice: Lila should have a mid-range voice, she can either sound very happy and nice or sound very aggressive and annoyed.
*annoyed grunt* "Nope, I'm done with this, I'm gonna go insane,"
(in a frustrated tone of voice)
"Well practically everyone in the town knows who I am at this point. I bet you think I'm crazy too,"
(in an aggressive tone of voice)
"Wait, wait don't go! I promise you it was right here, I saw it!"
