A Conversation - Skyrim Quest Mod

A Conversation - Skyrim Quest Mod

Project Overview

A Conversation is a very short quest mod I thought up the other day and wanted to make. It features one NPC, the Masked Man and will delve into some more philosophical topics than what is discussed in the vanilla game. The entire quest will take place in one encounter where the Masked Man will speak of the struggle of life, and his interpretation in finding purpose and meaning.

The Masked Man himself is rather different from any other NPCs I've made before, more akin to a force of nature than a conventional character. He clearly has a much deeper past and involvement with the world around him, but the player will only get to know him in this one brief encounter.

This is the only role in the project.

The Masked Man is a rather mysterious character and should have the voice to match. I'd ideally like a deeper and more mature voice type to match his supposed age and wisdom, along with a soothing tone of speech. I don't really have a preference for an accent, so anything goes.

The overall tone for the Masked Man should be calming and firm but never outright threatening. An aura of knowing too much should also be given off during all his dialogue, he is an incredibly mysterious character that won't reveal anything to the player. Having these minor things given off in the dialogue should create a unique atmosphere and hopefully an interesting experience for the player.

The script is rather short at 55 lines long.

The following lines are in no particular order.

Voice description:
  • male adult
  • In this struggle, there are brief interludes of clarity, peace and happiness. Memories that fill the void of despair.

  • In all my days travelling these lands, I've seen no greater horror than a life unfulfilled, the potential of greatness.

  • Forge this path of acceptance, do not waste what little time you have here simply waiting.
