2030, 16 Years after the rebuilding of the world, Tokyo has become more of a brightly lit prison than a thriving city flooding with popularity and life. The Future Foundation is still the essential government, only with more powerful roles than before, fusing with the Japanese government, they become more focused on retaining peace in Tokyo rather than achieving it. To ensure the safety of everybody in the country, their current leader enforced robots across Japan as a sort of keeper of the status quo. However, the higherups were worried with the rise in criminal activity. After the tragedy was over, Tokyo saw a rapid rise in crime, leading the higher ups in the future foundation to create units to ensure that the city stays clean, creating them to be more aggressive and accusatory, causing them to sometimes register false positives. Speaking out against the foundation isn’t advised either, often leading to one of two outcomes, the good one, the complaint gets ignored, or the ‘offender’ is arrested for treason, making Japan less and less of a functioning country. From all of this arose two rebellion organizations, Ultimate Extermination Program: An extremist organization who aims to eradicate the system of Ultimates and Hope’s Peak Academy in general. Their masked leader, known simply as the ringleader, is essentially the one behind all the violence and crime arising in Tokyo after the tragedy. The second group is known as simply: the resistance. This is the group that consists of our main sidecast. They are in a sort of grey area, going against both the future foundation, the Japanese Department of Homeland Security, and the Ultimate Extermination Program, relying on morals that go against tyranny and excessive force. As the UEP strikes more and more, the security slowly gets more tight. What started as a security measure soon becomes a flawed system with overly strict regulation. It was only when the 3 sides started clashing when it was really enforced and Tokyo became a dystopia. This series focusses more on a national issue than a worldwide one.

In the midst of all this, 16 Ultimate Students at the New Hopes Peak Academy, alongside a former Ultimate, are declared missing. Little do they know, they were forced into a recreation of the original Hopes Peak, and forced into a deadly killing game. The perpetrators are unknown, but to say that Tokyo is in utter chaos is an understatement. Can the resistance find the Ultimates before the Ultimate Extermination Program can? Or will they both be too late?
