Absinthe has spent her entire life inside of a spire out of fear of spreading an infection she is asymptomatic to. After proving that she is safe and non-contaminated, she joins her brother, the new leader of the Seekers who saved his life, and takes to the mainlands to prove her worth in a society with their backs turned to her.

Her mind is a prison, however-- and she has spent her life being plagued by the lordess of the hivemind infection, called THE AMYGDALA.

The more the people of the Saltfarer deny her, and the more the Amygdala seems to push... Absinthe struggles to find where her loyalties lie-- with the people who saved her, and deny her, or the temptation of a life and honor far more rewarding than this one.
