I have my preference for what the voice should sound like, but if you have something better then please go for it. I will accept Male or Female, even though the two voices I have in mind that I personally think would be perfect are male. Surprise me!

Voice Number 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcPm-MQiCQ8

Voice Number 2 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ah6GbkBoEsw

The way both of these sound, make as excellent narration voices, and while I am a voice actor myself and have quite the range, I cannot sound that awesome. My range isn't that good.

Again, just try to match either of these, or do your own interpretation of a good Narration voice.

  • Many years ago, in the heart of Equestria's capital, Princess Celestia established the “E.U.P. Guard” during the anniversary of the first Celestial year of peace. One of Her Majesty's guards, Lasting Gravity, was very intrigued by magic. He beseeched the princess to mentor him. After much internal debate, the princess eventually decided to take the unicorn under her wing.

  • Lasting Gravity had been blinded by anger. He magically rose up from the cracked marble, with lustful rage in his eyes and a maniacal grin etched onto his face. Lasting began to laugh with a chilling and nefarious tone. Electricity danced about his body, cracking the walls and floor around him. He fired a blast of negative energy at the princess, breaking through her ethereal shield.

  • Lasting Gravity, like many before and after him, was defeated by the Elements of Harmony and would never again set hoof in Equestria. But even the Elements have their limits... Years passed and the elder princess lost her connection to the Elements. The lasting effects they once had on the world would now be reset as they came into the hooves of new ponies. These new elemental keepers would have to stop old threats returning... some more dangerous than others. The Princess had never considered the possibility that Lasting Gravity might return. Unlike most of her former foes, he was but a mere unicorn, with no unnaturally long life span. But his time beyond the boundaries of Equestria had given him ample opportunity to prepare new magic, magic that could allow a being to live without the need for a body... And so our story begins...

Thank you for auditioning! While I like the deep gravel in the voice you went with, and the quality of mic, there are two things that are holding it back. The first being the cuts in audio. There are many times, and I mean MANY, where it's obvious you messed up a word and just did a retake of the line from the word you messed up on and just joined it back up with the original. It sounds very noticeable, and jarring. If I make a mistake mid sentence during a line, I either re-take the full sentence, OR I just re-do the full line until I get it right. THEN I do multiple takes of me getting it right till I feel one of them will be good enough. This just seemed poorly executed. I hope that makes sense, just a little feedback for the future if you mess up a word, just re record that full line, or just the sentence, but don't retake mid sentence on a word and attempt to join it back up, it never sounds good. And the last thing was the accent, it sounded very Samurai warrior XD Not sure if that was intentional, or if that is actually just your natural accent, but either way it's not really working for me. Sorry to say :/ I hope all of this helps in some way, and I'm glad you auditioned anyway, perhaps you could do a retake if you feel the two things I mentioned are solvable for you. :) looking forward to your reply!

Thanks for the advice. I'll try to avoid editing together two different takes of the same sentence from now on. Though, I don't think I'll do a second audition, for two reasons. First, my voice can't replicate the ones you're specifically looking for, like in the videos you referenced. And second, you already announced that you found the perfect audition. So I feel like it's pointless. Regardless, I still think the one that got the part did a PHENOMENAL job, and deserves the part. Best of luck on the series!

Understandable, thank you, and feel free to audition for other characters as the series goes on, I will be doing several casting calls in the future. :)
