Phantom Frequency by William Cameron (3F, 3M, 1 Child)
Synopsis: After downing a few Rolling Rocks, arrogant and self-obsessed Charlie Roosevelt starts his nightly drive home from work. As he scans the radio for something to listen to, he suddenly finds the radio talking back to him. The speaker is Anna, a mysterious young woman who seems to know everything there is to know about Charlie. Who is she and what does she want? Charlie tries to crack the mystery, but Anna is in full control...and she has other plans.
Charlie Roosevelt; (Male, Lead, 30s) A self-obsessed, hard-drinking insurance man
Line 1: (with a chuckle) Geez, they still do these things. (in a comical voice) This is a test of the emergency broadcast system. We are under attack. Surrender, suckers. You have no chance of survival.
Line 2: Who are you and how the hell are you talking to me through my radio?
Line 3: ‘Cause she told me to get lost and said she’d tell my wife. But wouldn’t’a done it anyway. I swear.
Anna; (Female, Lead, 20s) A voice on Charlie's radio (not robotic)
Line 1: Patience, they say, is the companion of wisdom. If this is so, then I am wise beyond all measure. But on this night, this very night...my waiting comes to an end. This man, however...this foolish, careless man for whom I have waited so long...he has no idea what lies before him. He imagines a pleasant journey to a peaceful home.
Line 2: You don’t like this station? You want something else?
Line 3: No, Charlie, your lovely wife, Allison—who does not deserve to be treated the way you treat her—she had nothing to do with this.
Radio Sports Announcer (Male, Minor, 3 lines)
Line 1: Last night’s no-hitter by the Dodgers’ Tony Alvarez puts L.A. back in contention for a playoff spot. The hitless, hapless Pirates, meanwhile, sixteen games over five- hundred only a month and a half ago, are now flirting with yet another losing season.

Line 1: Hey, Charlie. Here’s your beer. Rolling Rock, right?
Line 2: In here every night, practically. So, you just drinkin’ tonight, Charlie, or you wanna get sump’n else?
Line 3: I know what you’re sayin’, hot shot, ‘cause you say it every time you come in here. Answer’s still no.
Butch; (Male, Supporting, *12 lines, 20s-40s, a doltish Lazlo patron)
Line 1: Didn't do nothing, Janie.
Line 2: Hey! Nobody talks to me like that!
Line 3: I told you not to call me Jackass!!
Alice; (Female, Supporting, 22 lines, 9 year old child)
Line 1: Mommy, why do you always honk like that when we pass that pine tree and that gravelly place?
Line 2: I’m eight and a half, Mommy. I know what pregnant is.
