“Good heavens child! Why are you sleeping on the floor?! You missed lunch, chores, and dinner!”
“Marla! Why are you running in the hallways?!”
“We need to have a talk young lady! You keep causing trouble around here! It is not OK! You’re going to influence the other children!”
“Alright, alright. You don’t have to see the headmaster. Just don’t let me catching you do this again.”
“No doubt started by her. I think we need to put her in the timeout room today. She’s been behaving rather poorly as of late and needs to be taught a lesson.”
Miss Adele Conwell - young adult/middle adult - One of the adults in charge of the girls, daughter of headmaster. ~has about 10 lines
“Marla?! Where did you go?! Everyone has been looking everywhere for you! Do you realize the panic you caused?!”
“We’re going to see the headmaster. I know it’s late but he needs to know that you’re OK.”
“Marla, please keep your voice down. You’ll wake the other children.”
(scared) “Father! There are monsters!”
(with a hint of a wink) “No. Trust me, you really want to be there right now.”
As always, I love hearing from you. I think your Miss Kefler was probably the strongest/closest, especially since Elena felt to be lacking the whimsical and gun-ho nature I was looking for. If you're interested in some other later book characters, Tamian, Failav, or Dotterly might be fitting (the first two just so happen to be lesbian). Thank you as always!
