Note: Being able to sing is a huge plus!

Sam is a neatfreak and an aspiring musician, he lives a minimalistic lifestyle and prefers to be alone most of the time, or with friends in a quiet place like a cafe or a library. He's very affectionate of those he likes, tends to stutter when excited or embarrassed, but is generally considered to be likable and charismatic. He's very passionate about his music but due to his perfectionist nature, hasn't ever properly released any of it.

Sam is one of the primary characters of the overall story, and as such will be appearing in multiple shorts with between two and twenty voice lines each. Payout is of course flexible and can be arranged on a per-video basis (or voluntarily.)

Sam is a scarfox, an original species developed by Kakiwa on deviantart. https://deviantart.com/scarfox-realm

  • (Appalled) Do you think I asked for this to happen to me? I don't even know why I'm here!

  • (Casual/Flattered) Oh well, it's not really a big deal y'know. It was a lot of work but I do think it's one of my best pieces.

  • (Surprised) Oh, well that's certainly something isn't it? I- well, huh..

Thank you for auditioning! Unfortunately Sam is English and although I do hear some of the English in this audition, I don't feel it's clear or strong enough for the role. However I do still have some feedback on the audition for you! Your overall conveyance is very much expressive and I can tell what the character is feeling, but I feel that at some times you're taking the emotion a bit too much to heart and unintentionally sacrificing clarity a bit too much. The main reason for this is that I feel you've got the tone down, but you're getting fairly excited and your speech goes by quite quickly. Try to slow down your speech a little bit while maintaining the same tone and it should be very easy for things to be more clear :). Furthermore, on the accent front, I'd suggest looking through various English dialects and selecting ones that you find the most interesting to listen to, and studying their speech patterns. Note any consonant pronunciation differences from your dialect and their significance. There are also helpful videos, but I find self study can help one learn a lot, as it's how I learned to pull off my Londoner accent. Thank you again, keep pursuing more VO work!

Thank you, I will take what you said to heart and try again a bit later!
