Project Overview
"Hey, do you know what a majority vote is?"
The plot of Your Turn to Die is about high school student, Sara Chidouin, who is forced into a death game with an assortment of other people who may share more in common than they know. After going through countless trials the group goes through multiple Main Games in order to fight for survival.
Your Turn To Die is a horror/mystery/RPG game for PC and phone. We're a studio that just wants to dub this game for fun and we're going dub the entire game but for now we're only casting characters from chapter 1-chapter 2 since chapter 3 is still in the works!
Requirements:
1.) You absolutely need to be able to bring emotion to the performance, especially screaming. If your audio conditions don't allow that or restrict your performance, I wouldn't recommend auditioning.
2.) There should absolutely be no background noise. If there is static/an air vent/computer fan please try to either noise cancel or redo your audition.
3.) We'll try to keep spoilers to a minimum but please note that in scripts or playthroughs will contain them. So if you want to avoid them, then I recommend reading the script when you're about to record. Otherwise, it'd be much preferred if you watched or played the game all the way through.
4.) Please be respectful to the directors, voice actors and the rest of the team. We all want to make a fun project so let's keep the atmosphere positive!
5.) You must have a discord. If you don't, it's free and I recommend making one. It's an extremely easy process. We send all of our scripts to our discord server and that's why we absolutely need you to have an account.

Higher voice. Should be able to go from enthusiastic/humorous to serious.
Joe is an extremely upbeat, excitable, considerate, and loyal person. He is easily embarrassed when others misinterpret him and is sensitive to how people perceive his appearance.
Like Sara, Joe puts in all his efforts to help the group succeed in the puzzles. He consistently convinces the group to believe in Sara and her abilities and generally places most of his trust to her. Though he is described as gaudy by Reko Yabusame and has a small habit of saying the wrong things at the wrong time, Joe is genuinely kind-hearted and sensitive to others' feelings.
[ EXCITED] "You stuck around this late for clubs?! I was gonna wither up from waiting! Well, it's fine! Listen! There's something I want to tell you!"
"I ate a doner kebab in one bite today! I'm a real glutton!"
[ RECALLING] "Sara was being harassed by a stalker, so I went home with her that day. Then there was an incident, so I called the police, but... Sara screamed so I went upstairs and there stood that damn stalker!"
[ JOKINGLY RECALLING] "I worked up all my courage to punch the guy. 'Course, I'm awful at fighting, so... Since I don't remember winning, I'm guessing I lost."
Deep voice, make sure that he sounds
Keiji is shown to be pretty casual and level-headed during the Death Game, though he comes off as shady to some of the participants. He usually refers to himself as "the friendly policeman" in an effort to establish himself as trustworthy and makes a pretense of being less cunning than he really is.
He's observant and canny and is quite good at reading other people and knows when to speak up and when to leave them be.
He's also encouraging and gentle with the younger participants, making it his job to at least keep watch over Gin.
[TIMID WARNING] “...You can’t… acknowledge the hallucinations. Once they’re burned into your brain… … ...Don’t end up like Mr. Policeman.”
[SARCASTIC CONFIDENCE] "Do I look that calculating? That comes as a real shock. It’s just intuition. I’m confident in my eye for people."
[FLIRTY SARCASTIC] “Are you going to be our goddess of victory... or our angel of death? Doesn't sound too bad to bet my life on that.”
Medium-deep voice and has an accent of sorts that is a mix of things. We accept any sort of accent for him.
While he doesn't initially appear to be much more than friendly and easygoing, Q-taro can be selfish and interested in his own survival over most other things in the Death Game. He is often attracted to anything that would secure his life (ie. tokens) and rarely acts in the interest of others during the Death Game.
He is also very anxious about many situations in the death game, as evidenced by his need for a lengthy debate to decide the Challenger during Russian Roulette. His fear and anxiety drive him to do even more selfish things, such as taking the solitary-escape in a bad ending.
[CONFIDENT] “Straight to the point: I got experience handlin’ guns. So leave bein’ the Challenger to me. Not a lotta people in this country who handle guns. My experience is valuable, ain’t it?”
[FRIENDLY] "I’m Q-taro Burgerburg! Baseball player! Yeah, I’m a ball player, but if ya work out too much and hurt’cherself, you’ll never hit the big leagues.”
[EMPATHETIC] “I was raised up in an orphanage that’s just a mite bit weird. Had people from all sortsa countries. I got a lotta dialects and stuff mixed in me… 'Course, they sent me to compulsory education up 'til high school. Can’t thank the place enough."
Medium. Voice actor must be able to switch from monotone to emotional.
Kai has a seemingly aloof and absentminded nature. He's often quiet, even during intense discussions and accusations. Because of his quiet nature, he isn't considered to be much of a person of interest to the group. Though like the others, he makes it apparent that he wishes to try his best to contribute to their advancement, even if his withdrawn demeanor and weird aura put Sara off.
[CURIOSITY] "What on earth are you singing?"
[CARING] "My diagnosis was merely a joke. But what's no joke is the fact that even cigars increase your risk of death. Do take care."
[SERIOUS] "I will issue... my own death."
Medium-Deep rough voice. She is extremely tough and her voice needs to show that.
Reko seems intimidating and assertive, appearing rough around the edges, especially in comparison to her milder female companions such as Nao and Kanna. However, she's generally friendly and takes on a sisterly role for those younger than her. She seems to act kinder to those who may be seen as "weak"; this is shown when Reko immediately comforts Kanna when hearing about her sister and treats her more gently.
[TOUGH] “Even if you were a criminal or a real asshole... Right now, you're our guiding hero, standing up against all difficulties. It ain't gonna change that. ...Am I wrong?”
[EMPATHETIC TOUGH] “No... Sure enough, I can't forget Alice. I don't have too many memories with him. If I lost the bad memories, there'd be hardly anything left. So... I don't wanna forget even a shred.”
Medium-Deep voice.
Alice has a short fuse and is one of the few participants who holds little trust for the rest of the group. Because of his attitude in that no one can be trusted, he tends to go off on his own and often pushes others away when they want to work or talk to him. He is quite aggressive in the way he speaks, but with enough persuasion and trust, he can be kind and helpful.
[EMPATHETIC] “I had thought Reko was a superhuman with a will of steel. I finally realized... she was just human too. I've never... regretted something more...”
[PASSIONATE] “If you want evidence, I'll give it as her brother!! That is the real Reko!! [...] A disguise couldn't possibly fool my eyes!
High voice. Accepting both boys and girls!! He's a 5th grader so he must sound very young.
Gin tries to remain positive and optimistic despite his situation. While he warms up to people easily, he can occasionally be sarcastic or blunt to them. Gin is rarely melancholy. He is very clingy and gets attached to those he meets. He becomes especially attached to Sara and views her as a completely trustworthy and kind sibling figure. While he may be young, Gin always attempts his best to help the group by finding clues and remains strong despite the circumstances. He ends a lot of sentences with "meow" and "woof" and tends to casually nickname those around him.
He is a loving child. He attaches to people that he trust very quickly and will defend them.
[HAPPILIY] “I can read the room too, meow! / My name is Gin Ibushi, woof! I’m a 6th grader, meow!”
[CONCERNED] “You're not the only one who couldn't do anything, meow...! Me... and all of us...!! / We've regretted, woof...! We've suffered, meow!! /
And yet... big bro Joe put on a smile to the end, meow... And everybody else who died... They were thinking of the ones who'd be left ‘til the very end, woof!!
So I’m sure what he really wants is for everyone to get home alive!! That’s why... You have to believe in the real Joe, big sis Sara...!!”
Medium voice. Kind of croaky sounding, similar to the English dub for Froppy from My Hero Academia.
Safalin is the most reserved doll. Her first appearance is on a screen in the Monitor Room, and she only emerges in person when Ranger demands it. Afterward, she roams Floor 3, practicing hospitality for "important participants" on orders from the Floor Master, Rio Ranger.
Her title, "The Crying Doll", is congruous with the way she acts. She seems to have a rather submissive personality, often allowing others to bully her. She never asserts herself and is quick to apologize for any perceived misstep.
On occasion, Safalin seems to be carried away by an unusually brazen and almost sadistic streak, so far only seen when she is meeting one-on-one with a participant. It is unclear whether this behavior is intended to be entirely malicious or not, and what exactly triggers this shift in her behavior. As soon as another individual enters the scene, she quickly resumes her typical behavior.
[TIMID] "I get it...! So then... Ranger...! It was you, wasn't it...?!"
[SHY] "Good to meet you everyonee... I'm the Vice Floor Master, the Crying doll, Tia Safalin..."
Medium-High. Must be able to perform emotional scenes.
Rio Ranger shows to be even more sadistic and aggressive towards the participants than the previous floor master, Sue Miley, since he was created only with the negative emotions of humans, with no evidence of any kind of empathy or kindness towards anyone. He also was built with a strong sense of inferiority towards humans, thus explaining the way he treats them.
Despite treating humans with such disdain, he pays a lot of attention to them, showed by his habit of stealing the deceased's clothing pieces. On most of his dialogues he calls the participants "bastards" reforcing his hate towards them.
[SARCASTIC] "Whazza maaatter? My face scare you? C'mon, Sara Chidouin!"
[CONFIDENT] "Yep. You bastards are probably hyper on-edge after supecting up a storm in the Main Game, right?"
Medium-Deep voice.
Although Miley is called "The Laughing Doll", she isn't as friendly as her name seems to hint.
Miley is sadistic; enjoys seeing the participants in the death game suffer, and even goes as far to torment them by dangling hope before crushing it. She enjoys toying with their despair as the participants start questioning their chances of survival.
Miley also has her own plans and agenda, dropping valuable clues to Sara even as she mocks her. She doesn't care about Sara personally, but she derives amusement in seeing how she and the other participants will react to unexpected information.
[KIND INFORMATIVE] "Ahaha. As it happens, I have revived to tell you what is happening, and to support you through the trials and tribulations to come."
[CONCERNED ANGRY] “Hey! Gashu!! "
Gashu, are you listening?! You've really gone and mucked things up...!"
"You've made a flagrant transgression...!! One that shakes the very core of the Main Game!!”
Deep voice. Must be able to perform emotional scenes.
Gashu makes himself look like an emotionless doll, but in reality, he shows coldness and sometimes being somewhat analytical. In turn, he appears to be quite polite and chivalrous, as was demonstrated several times with Gin, Sara, and Keiji.
[COLD] "I have no more use for you."
[COLD] "You've stepped out of line, Rio Ranger."
Deep voice. One that you would hear from a 30-40 year old woman.
Megumi appeared as a kind, smart, and possibly analytical woman, not straying from being able to tell what a young Keiji's strengths and weaknesses were.
Despite this, she had a nonchalant demeanor around her, shown best when a young Keiji confronted her about making a backroom deal to save him from being fired. She was also described as shady by unknown police officers, assumed to have done similar things in the past.
[WARMLY] "Are you ready to introduce yourself?"
Deep, fatherlike voice.
He is a very protective father that seems to be involved with some rough people.
[IMPRESSED] "You're doing well, Sara."
