Black Jack is the protagonist of the story, He is stoic and a (questionable) doctor with skills to rival most modern professionals, but his real goal is to become the best augmentation mammoplasty surgeon in the world!
"Maiko... where is the liver again?"
"Well it shouldn't be that complex, it's just brain surgery."

Maiko is the secondary protagonist who follows Black Jack on his adventure to become the best augmentation mammoplasty surgeon!
"Well it's not like they're gonna notice a few missing organs."
[Sad and crying]
"S-She just like me! She just like me for real!"

Yabu (if that is his real name) is a doctor who works at the same hospital that Black Jack is a student at, his background is sketchy but no one cares to actually realize he works there.
"So uh, you aren't a cop?"
[Thinking he's about to die]
"I'm sorry for what I did in the 40's! they weren't using those lungs for anything important!"
[Realizing he is safe]
"I take back my apology! kiss my ass God!"
