Various interpretations are considered and are open for approval for the role, but for the most part we ask that the voice has the same mannerisms and inflections of the canonical voice of Yang from the show.
(surprised to see that a fighter she struggled to fight was easily taken out by her mother, Raven)
That girl was no push over.. but she got taken out like it was nothing..
(Professor Port questions whether Yang's mother is the culprit behind a village being destroyed. Yang tries to convince)
Attack a town. Pillage it, kill anyone who gets in their way? A follow up of Grimm attacks shortly after? It's their M.O.
(pause)
And it's the closest lead to finding her I've gotten in a long time.
Raven's voice is mature but youthful. She talks as if she's always on a high ground of morality. She's cutthroat but can also be playful in taunting and sass. We're looking for someone who can display this range and/or an imitation of the canonical voice. Interpretations are considered as well.
(taunting Yang by disposing of her enemy easily)
So, a little birdy told me you were looking for me. Well, here I am. Oh, and you're welcome, by he way.
(slight taunt, a little bit of sass, but growing impatient at Yang's lack of response)
Dear daughter, my time is precious. If you have something to say, I suggest you say it now.
Lisa Lavender is a news anchor for the Vale News Network. She comes off as sounding a bit uninterested in what she's reporting, almost monotone, but informative and compelling.
Hello and good morning Vale, I am Lisa Lavender and you're watching Vale News Network
It seems local huntsmen and huntresses have a working theory as to who exactly attacked the small town nearby and are working with the Vale police department on the investigation.
We have been asked to remind you all that the town has been on lock down since the incident until further notice.
-Professor Port, despite his age, seems energetic in spirit when he regales his students of the times of his youth. Various interpretations are up for consideration.
(teaching his class. Informative, witty)
Now now, class. Monster's come in all shapes and sizes.
(Trying to persuade Yang to not take up vengeance on the bandits. Stern voice.)
This is not your burden to bear. Leave it to the authorities
Student #1 is a mostly quiet and reserved individual who has a loud mouth best friend that he tolerates. Various voicing interpretations are considered.
(In class during a lecture. His friend is trying to hold a side conversation about drama, but he's trying to pay attention. Low voice.)
You heard the professor. It's none of our concern. Just drop it.
(slightly given in to holding side conversation with friend during school lecture. Low voice, a little stern)
The local authorities will handle it. How will it look if a bunch of kids tried to take on a band of notorious thugs lead by, probably, the most dangerous woman alive?
Student #2 is pretty rambunctious, direct, brash and candid. He's rarely soft spoken. He's also very assertive. Various interpretations are considered for this role.
(bored during a school lecture. Turns to best friend sitting beside him, bringing up current events)
So how about that bandit attack this morning? I hear they may be in the area. What-do-ya-say we hunt 'em down and show this school we're already world class huntsmen!
(attempting to keep his voice down after friend shushes him, but is slightly failing. Still trying to convince his friend to go along with his idea)
You DO know who the bandits are, right? The infamous Branwen tribe! Just imagine if we taken THEM out! We'd be legendary before even graduating!
(Finally submitting to not doing what he wanted to do. Succumbing to the status quo of being a student, being bored. Slightly aggravated)
Ah! You're no fun, man.
(mutters under breath)
..killjoy
Weiss has a very peculiar, slight "high societal" accent to her voice. Anything emulating that or the canonical version of her voice is preferred. Only one line for this role.
(During school lecture, more so than the teacher, she overhears Yang secretly watching a broadcast on her phone from across the room. 2 students beside Weiss gossip about Yang ignoring the teacher.)
(Thinking to herself)
Honestly I can't fault them for saying that. Her volume's so loud I bet everyone in Atlas could hear it. I hope she's not thinking of doing anything stupid. But.. with the face she's making, it's only a matter of time.
