PLOT TEASER
Y;N (aka “Yin”, or “Yes or No”) is a point and click visual novel about a girl named Yin who finds herself on trial for murder in a strange supernatural world. In this world, she finds herself able to jump through various memories, and she must travel through them, solving puzzles along the way, in order to collect enough information in order to defend herself in court.
Will she discover the reason why she was brought to this world in the first place?

This project is a full dub of the game Y;N in participation with Mirrowdothack. In the end, recorded lines will be programmed into the game by Mirrowdothack as the official voice cast for the game! As the game is freeware, the project is unpaid.

The so-called judge of the void. While they take on the appearance of a young girl, they’re actually a shapeshifter, who changes their form as they please.
Although they call themselves the judge of the world, they’re not particularly fair or logical, and will regularly manipulate trials and their victims in order to get what they want, in this case, to trap Yin and Yang in the void. While their goals are a shrouded in mystery, it may have something to do with the humanoid monsters who lurk around.
In terms of personality, think of her as being somewhat Monobear-esque and has a habit of speaking to her stuffed rabbit, Justine.

- As a shapeshifter, sometimes Charon will take on the forms of other people to mess with them. Because of this the actor who portrays Charon may have to sync some of their lines to pre-recorded lines other characters have voiced for an overlay effect.

<Creepily pleasant> I'm glad you've noticed how pointless it is. Doomed is doomed.It can't be helped ...
<After Keith interrupts a trial. Enraged.> Where the heck did you come from?! Who the hell allowed YOU TO INTERRUPT?!
<Mocking Yin> Your precious sister Yang Hakyō is needed. She is important. But no one needs Yin Hakyō. No one.
<Creepy laughter> Kyhahahaaaaaaaahahahaahaahahahaahahahaaaaaaa!!!
One of Yang’s classmates/friends. They bully Yin.
<Bullying Yin.>... what's wrong, weirdo. Do you want your stuff back? Are you going to cry…?
Some kids Yin meets on the playground at one point. They end up being afraid of her and mocking her. Kids can be so cruel…
<Scared> Why are your eyes red?
<Mean> My mommy said that we are not allowed to play with you.
A woman tied to void somehow. Not much is known about her other than that she’s currently ill and important to a character named Keith.
<In a hospital. A bit blankly, as though in a stupor.> Keith… Wake up. Please.
<Charon taking Anna’s form in order to mock an injured Keith.> ... hmph. I came all the way down here because I was worried about you.
Yin and Yang’s mother. She treats Yang like a golden child, while abusing Yin, denying her even basic necessities like clothes.
<Speaking to Yang about a dress she got her> You are looking very beautiful, honey.
<Talking back to Father after he asks about Yin> Don't act like you care about her. All you can think of is “what will our neighbors say if they find out ..."
About: Yin’s older sister. Through wish fulfillment paired off with Charon’s trickery, Yin originally believes herself to be Yang initially in the game, thus as a result, you spend the first 2/3rds of the game playing as “Yang”. During these exploration parts, she’s frightened but level headed and a bit quiet, a reflection of Yin’s personality, however, during flashbacks, she’s charismatic and popular, not afraid to stand up for Yin, or dish out some sisterly teasing.
The truth of the matter however, is that Charon has been using Yin and the evidence she provides during trials as a way to trap her sister in the void, and Yin along with her. While Yang loves her younger sister, she still finds herself overwhelmed with the guilt of not having been able to protect Yin from bullies and the abuse of their mother, and, after having Charon manipulate the both of them, she wants nothing more than the sweet release of death.
- Has the largest amount of lines in the game. I don't have an exact number, but it's likely about half the lines in the game.
- Must participate in live recording sessions.
- Will have to also play a preteen version of Yang.
- Yelling/screaming is involved.
<As Yin, having just found out she was on trial for murder. Confused and scared.> Judgement? But I haven’t done anything! I can’t be sentenced to something I haven’t done, can I?
<As Yin, after being told to just give up on fighting the trial> I refuse. I can’t and I won’t accept this.
<Preteen Yang, after giving Yin a friendship necklace. Genuine, with a smile.> I'll always be there for you. I promise.
<Yang after being tortured by Charon. Begging Yin to kill her.> I can’t… I can’t take this anymore. It’s my fault. Please… I don’t want to become one of those monsters!
<When Yin is hesitant to kill Yang, becoming more desperate> I RUINED YOUR LIFE! SO DAMN IT. KILL ME!
Yang's younger sister Yin as a child. Relentlessly bullied by her peers and abused by her mother, but without the wordly knowledge to understand why that’s happening. More often than not, sad, scared and confused.
<After having been locked in a cellar, crying.> Please, mommy... I'll be a good girl. Please let me out…
<Late at night after having waited hours for her mother to show up. Scared and confused, but feels the need to do what her mother says regardless> I’m… Waiting for my mother… She said I should wait here…
Monsters who wander the void. These were once other people trapped by Charon in the void.
<Quiet, eerie> What a lovely young lady… What beautiful skin ...So soft and clean ...
