Winter Falls (Wave 2)
Project Overview
Winter falls is an animation project that stars a group of kids in the town of North Terrace. The story follows 17-year-old Zach Barkman who lives in a small town in the middle of nowhere. Just as he gives up hope that his life would be any different from his life before, a new family moves in right across the street. As he begins meeting the new family, he notices the weather around North Terrace begins to change, getting colder with every passing day. Will he be able to discover the cause of the abrupt change? or will North Terrace be snowed in forever?
Note: Some of these lines are from the first draft of the script, but many of them are from parts of the storyline that I have not fully formulated yet. All lines are subject to change, but the characters are fairly stagnant. There will also be one more wave of characters that include the secondary adult roles and more extras. I’m pushing those characters back a wave due to the fact that they aren’t used until episode 2, which I haven’t fully finished yet.
Requirements:
-Decent quality mic for voice actors. It doesn't have to be fancy, but it must be at least legible.
-Multiple examples of your work and/or multiple takes per line. Looking for 2-3 takes per line, but more takes are encouraged.
-The ability to work well on a team. This is a team project and I'd like to build a safe community we work together in.
-The ability to commit. This story takes place over 7 episodes, so I'm looking for actors and crew members who can stick with it
-Discord. Suggested as it will make communication easier, but in no way mandatory. If you don't have a discord account, just include another form of contact (preferably an email address)

Haylee Barkmen, also referred to as Ms. Barkmen, is the caring and supportive mother of Zach. A former performer, she now works as a pastry chef at a pizza restaurant in the nearby town of Heron. She cares a lot about her son and his friends but can come off as a bit smothering. She also loves making ‘mom jokes’, which she proclaims are better than dad jokes, and making the most out of every situation. I’m looking for a motherly tone that knows how to have fun. The ability to sing is recommended but not required.
(Jokingly, playful) “Well, I’ll leave you to your brooding. If you need me, I’ll be knitting!”
(Calm) “Ever since my husband died, dating’s never really been on my mind.”
(emotional, serious, stressed) “Zach, I can’t let you go out there! It’s not safe! I-I can’t lose you too!”
Julia is the kind-hearted mother of Noelle. She works as a psychologist, with a specialty in treating PTSD and anxiety. I’m looking for a voice actress that can really get emotional, as she freaks out about a lot of things. Overall, Julia is sweet and caring, but also stern at times. I’m looking for a medium, middle-aged female voice.
(slightly embarrassed) “Sorry if that’s a personal question… Andrew works as a relationship counselor, so he’s always interested in the romantic lives of everyone.”
(crushed, hopeless) “They haven’t found her yet…?”
(relieved, overjoyed) “Noelle! I’m so grateful that you’re okay!”
(Note: This character is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. I would like for this role to be played by a non-binary VA.) Ashe is the parent of Avery Surulia. They work as a librarian at the library in North Terrace. They tend to be somewhat stern and a bit serious, but of course, they can be playful and sometimes joke around. I’m looking for an androgynous, middle-aged voice, but if your voice has a bit more masculinity or femininity that is fine.
(stern) “Avery… If anything happens, you will come back immediately. Is that understood?”
(loving, confident) “Of course, I believe in her! She’s my kid after all!”
(stressed) “It’s been 4 hours and I haven’t heard a word from Avery…”
Andrew Howard is Stan and Noelle's dad who, while caring, doesn’t exactly have a filter. He comes off as very blunt and doesn’t always think through his words, but he’s a good guy and cares a lot about his family and friends. He also loves his self-proclaimed ‘dad jokes’, but everyone aside from him agrees they aren’t funny. I’m looking for a medium-low, middle-aged male voice.
(curious, not flirtatious) “So, Haylee, are you seeing anyone currently?”
(worried) “I’ve tried calling her but I think her phone is dead…”
(happy) “Well, on the plus side we don’t have to work for a while!”
Millie is a sassy and confident theater student who goes to school with Zach and company. She seems like she is very shallow and a bit mean, but underneath, she’s a sweetheart with a huge crush on Zach. I’m looking for a medium teen-young adult female voice. The ability to sing is recommended but not required.
(upbeat, cheerful) “Millie Wilburn, singer, actress, and future star! Great to meet you, darling!”
(stressed, angry) “Oh god… If I die here I’m suing the hell out of you!”
(relaxed, happy) “Ah, Noelle, darling! Great to see you again, babe!”
Levi is a slightly dumb, but overall lovable friend (and future boyfriend) of Millie. Although he isn’t the brightest, nobody can argue his skills in programming and music. His personality is sweet and emotional, but with a very nerdy side. He tends to nerd out if anyone mentions RPGs around him. I’m looking for a medium-high young adult male voice.
(nerding out) “So, after that, Aries realized that he actually loved Brian instead of Jared. This further supports the main theme of the game that if you fake your love for someone you’ll only end up hurting them!”
(welcoming) “Heyo! The name’s Levi! Sweet to meetcha!”
(reassuring) “Hey, hey, It’s okay, Millie. I’m here and we’re in this together, alright?”
Jenna is a very musically gifted, but socially awkward kid. She loves talking to people and making friends, but isn’t always the best at communicating it. She is very sweet and kind but can be awkward and a little obsessive at times. I’m looking for a medium-high young-adult female voice.
(excited) “Of course, Levi! This is gonna be so cool!”
(worried) “A-Are we trapped here-?!”
(chatty) “Noelle your art is adorable!!”
Evan is one of the teachers at North Terrace secondary. He is somewhat stuck up and strict, but still cares about his students. Many of the students regard him as mean, but once you get on his good side, he is very sweet. I’m looking for a medium-low, polite, slightly above middle-aged male voice.
(elegant) “Of course. I am Mr. Claire and I’m the English teacher at North Terrace. I look forward to having you two in my class.”
(stressed) “‘Yes, yes everything’s fine…’ What do you think, smartass! We’re snowed into a school! Of course, we’re not fine!”
These are students involved in the story but don’t have a very big part. These voice actors may be recruited for bigger student roles that play a bigger part in future episodes. Please improvise a line for each of these scenarios.
(you’re talking to the first new student to move to your town in 6 years)

These voice actors will be playing other teachers throughout the school. These are also recurring extras, so please consider that before auditioning. They don’t have big parts in future episodes but I will be requiring these extras to come back for at least episode 2.
(dull, bored) “I hope you all studied for your quiz…”
(annoyed) “Millie! That’s enough! Stop this instant!”
(hushed, whispering) “Look what are we gonna tell that kids, that they’re just stuck here?”
Looking for an experienced director or directors to help me set up this project and keep it running smoothly. They will mainly be in charge of setting deadlines, discussing important information with me, and keeping everything running smoothly while I am busy or unable to work. Since this is an animated project, I will be needed the help of animators to make it happen. Animators will be in charge of bringing the script, story, and characters to life.
