Clay smiles a lot and talks kind to everyone. Clay has a low warm voice. He is goofy and loyal.
Hey stop. Quick snarling like mini Kestrels.
Hey, it’s going to be okay.
I’m awake. I’m just waiting until Tsunami and Glory stop fighting.
Tsunami is brave, independent, bossy, and fearless. Tsunami has a brash voice. Other dragons described her to be the fiercest dragon they know.
"You'll regret this, […] When we're free — when my family hears about this — when the rest of the world finds how you treated the dragonets of destiny—"
"I will protect."
"I've won, […] You can all see that. We can end this now, without killing anyone. I ask you all to let him live!"
Glory is sarcastic, snide, and intelligent. Tsunami described her as the less trustworthy Dragonet of Destiny.
"I don't, […] She was going to kill me. Remember?"
"That's what it was! […] When we hatched — the guardians didn't know anything about MudWings, so they thought you were attacking us. But you were trying to help. Your instinct told you to get the rest of us out of our shells. Clay, you know what this means? You weren't trying to kill us at all."
"We are NOT CALLING IT MAGICAL DEATH SPIT."
Starflight is a know-it-all, anxious, intelligent, and cautious. Starflight loves to study.
"Easy. It's because we have all these special powers, and we don't want to make regular dragons feel inferior […] You know. Telepathy? Precognition? Invisibility? Hello?"
"I'm sorry he took me. I wanted him to bring me back right away, but he wouldn't. He said they couldn't afford to lose any NightWings, even — even peculiar little ones."
"Shouldn't we stay under the trees? What if a patrol spots us? I mean — We must stay under the trees. All right. Yes. Everyone back into the trees right now."
Sunny is sympathetic, kind, and sweet. Her voice sometimes squeaks and has a cheerful lit to it.
"Even Sunny? […] What's that supposed to mean? I'm brave! I'm brave all the time!"
"It's not optimism, […] It's faith. There's a reason we're here. What we do today is part of it, but there's more, too, and we have to survive to make it all happen."
"Don't let her make you hate yourself. I can't promise you anything about Clay, but I think — I mean, if I know him at all, I can tell you the way to his heart is by helping his friends."
Kestrel is grumpy and aggressive. She does have a protective side for the Dragonets of Destiny.
"We await the wings of fire, […] Not that it'll do us much good now, […] Hvitur is dead."
"I'm your teacher. Nothing I do is cheating. Get down here and fight like a SkyWing."
"We'll tell you what you need to know about the prophecy, […] You don't need a pile of gossip and rumors and speculation cluttering up your tiny little minds."
Webs is pleasant but stern. Webs also has a slow maddening voice. Webs is weak and cowardly.
"I joined the Talons of Peace to stop killing dragons. I won't argue with Morrowseer, but I'm not doing it myself."
"But we're the dragons for peace. If we kill each other, aren't we as bad as Burn and Blister and Blaze?"
"Now I know the dragonets are safe. So you can do whatever you like to me."
Dune is tough and grouchy. He was described to hate everything.
"I'm not worried about Sunny. We followed the prophecy instructions. It's not our fault she's the way she is. But the RainWing — He's not going to like that."
"It's not natural, that much loyalty in a dragon. Especially to dragons outside your own tribe."
"These dragonets are sacred. They're the dragonets of destiny. You can't have them!"
Morrowseer is grumpy, bad-tempered, vindicated, and smug. He has a deep rumbling voice.
"We made you. You dragonets are only important because of us, and we can destroy you just as easily."
"Prophecies can be complicated."
"Here's all the dragonets I want dead anyway, in one convenient place."
Scarlet is a malicious, vengeful, and thrilling dragon. She has a slithering deep voice, and high cackle like laugh. She speaks clear.
"Oh, that's my new toy. […] Pretty, isn't she? I bet I'm the only queen with my very own RainWing."
"Now really, this is getting insulting. […] You're in my territory. Apparently you're living under mymountain. I am only the most important dragon for hundreds of miles. How dare you not recognize me?"
"You think Burn is what you have to worry about right now. She's not. I am. I'll be free soon … free … and I'll be coming for all my enemies … think about that while you try to fall asleep … what I'm going to do to your friends when I get my claws on them … how messy and thrilling it's going to be …"
Burn is described to be one of the most dangerous dragons in Pyrrhia. She is cruel and crazy. If Burn won the war she probably would‘ve keep the war going for fun.
"I don't care. No prophecy decides what happens to me. I'm not letting a bunch of words or baby dragons decide when I die or what I bow to. We can have peace when my sisters are dead and Iam queen of the SandWings."
"So, IceWing. Is this egg a part of your pathetic prophecy?"
"The world doesn't need a prophecy. It needs me as Queen of the SandWings."
