What Happened In Knox County? | Project Zomboid Lore
Project Overview
Hi, there!
I am a content creator on YouTube who does lore videos revolving around video games. This particular episode in about the game called Project Zomboid, a hardcore survival horror RPG in a post-apocalyptic setting, where zombies have overrun the world. I am structuring a video that creates a timeline of events leading up to the very start of the game.
The story starts with an outbreak of a disease of unknown origin in Knox County; this leads to the establishment of a military quarantine of several towns and cities. Together they form what comes to be known as the "Knox Exclusion Zone", where no one is allowed to leave or enter. It is within this zone, after the outbreak has gone from a suspected disease to a full-blown zombie apocalypse, that the game will eventually start.

Jackie Jaye is a female reporter from the radio station LBMW. She is among some of the first reporters to show up outside of the exclusion zone.

This is Jackie Jaye from LBMW reporting live from the Exclusion Zone south of Louisville in Knox County, Kentucky, where a massive area has been quarantined off due to what officials call an outbreak of an unknown disease.
This survivor is the first person to make contact with the outside world from within the Knox Exclusion Zone. He finally breaks the story that the government isn't being truthful about what happens inside the bordered perimeter. He is alone and desperate.

Is interviewed by Jackie Jaye after being released as a captive from within the Exclusion Zone. They tell a terrifying tale of them being forced to kill their father after he turned into a zombie. I would like an emotional transition from a rather composed individual, to someone who breaks down as the trauma resurfaces.

My father was bitten.. The.. The wound.. It festered.. He got sick from it. Almost immediately.. The infection ate right through him. We were on the move for about a day, then he got too weak to walk. We held out at the pharmacy. I.. I tried to give him antibiotics - but it just kept getting worse. He got delirious. Sweating through his clothes.. The fever killed him. Then.. *sob* Then he.. *emotional breakdown* *crying* I had to! *crying* I didn’t have a choice!
