Project Overview
Hey everyone, my name is Tanner, I’m the head Voice Actor for the My Hero Abridged project currently being developed by The YouTube group We The Celestials.
Yes, This is a casting call for an ongoing abridged series developed by a talented team of writers, editors, and voice actors. This posting is a followup to the previous casting posts we've previously posted on this site. Here are the links to the previous postings.
If you're down to work with a YouTube group that has 67,000+ subscribers and work with a talented team on putting together an abridged anime series, we welcome all voiceover artists to audition for this project.
Please read the following below before you begin auditioning.

- You must be 16 years or older to audition for this project.

You must have a discord account. This is so you can keep in touch with the WTC team, receive scripts, & easily upload finished work to be edited. -
The writing in this series will have swearing and a bunch of crude TeamFourstar/South Park styled dark humor. if you are not OK with reading a script that will likely have offensive content & require you to cuss, Do not audition for this project. - Auditions must be of great quality. Any auditions that are of poor quality (Background noise, Echo, Poor Quality Microphone, Room reverb, too quiet, etc.) will not be accepted. No exceptions
- This position will require long-term commitment, so if you get picked for a role, be ready to work alongside us for at least 3-4 years or so. (There's alot of MHA episodes to dub.)
- This isn't a requirement but please do 2-3 takes of each line for the character your trying out for.

Mei Hatsume's personality in the abridged is close to how she acts in the series. She's a very aggressive inventor/mad scientist type whose very assertive, in your face, and has a thing for using the students of UA as her personal guinea pigs for her experiments. Because of this, she’s earned a notorious reputation at the school for being a crazy sadist type…but she doesn’t care. In fact, she embraces it. Imagine Tiny Tina from the Borderlands series but with a more genius inventor side. That’s who Mei Hatsume is in the Abridged.
For Hatsume’s voice, were looking for a high energy, med-high pitched American girl voice. Either try to mimic her FUNimation voice or go for something similar to Tiny Tina from the Borderlands series. Just remember that her personality is that shes somewhat of a gadget making menace to society who is also somewhat of a sadist.

Principal Nezu in this story is a German mad scientist type. There's a lot of questions surrounding Nezu about how he became as filthy rich and powerful as he is within such a seemingly short time. The true reasoning for this is a dark, tightly-kept secret that only Nezu & a very small amount of people know about. Either way, he's one of the most wealthiest and socially powerful people in the abridged and comes off as a cynical, uncaring, power-hungry type similar to our Midoriya character, only he has the wealth, and social standing to backup his words.
For Nezu's voice, were looking for someone who can sound like the Medic from Team Fortress, but with hints of Mickey Mouse thrown in there.
(THIS LINE IS DURING THE UA ENTRANCE EXAMS AS NEZU AND THE TEACHERS ARE OBSERVING THE PROGRESS OF THE STUDENTS AND HOW EVERYONE'S DOING)
(overlooking monitor, vague German accent) - "They look like little mice running through a maze! How vunderbar to watch! I understand now why my kind were enslaved by all of you!"
(THIS SCENE TAKES PLACE AFTER THE USJ ATTACK FROM THE FIRST SEASON, ALL-MIGHT'S BIG FORM ALTER-EGO IS HIDING IN THE STAFF LOUNGE SCARED OF THE SCOLDING HE'S GONNA GET FROM NEZU FOR NOT BEING AT THE USJ WHEN THE ATTACK HAPPENED, BELOW IS NEZU'S FIRST LINES WHEN HE FIND'S ALL-MIGHT CURLED UP LIKE A BALL.)
"Well, Hello zere Mister bag of bones, I had a feeling you'd be hiding away in ze staff lounge after what our students have been through for ze last hour now. Honestly, I don't know if I should fire you to protect the hit my reputation will get once the news picks up what happened today, or torture you with ze water spray bottle you hate so much."
(This scene is during the Final Exam arc where Kaminari & Ashido are up against Principal Nezu. During this line, Mina & Denki are freaking out that Nezu is destroying everything around them with a massive crane from a distance while Nezu is laughing ecstatically & having the time of his life as this is one of the rare times Nezu can get destructive.)
(Ecstatic, psychotic, having the time of his life) - "Its Not everyday I get to get my hands dirty and go crazy on my students like zis. I'm happier than a fat kid in a chocolate shop! Yeah? YEAH!? AAAAH HA! HA! HA! HAAA!!!! Run for me you illiterate degenerates of modern society! RUUUUNNN!!!"

Alxmason
Endevor in this series is a tad different from how he is in canon. He’s the normal hero you know him as, but with less empathy & care for his reputation & family than his normal self, at least for the first couple seasons. He’s also more accepting of his current ranking as the #2 hero and is a boastful, entitled hot-blooded jackass who flaunts his hero status like it’s no one’s business. This involves partying, rubbing his success in people’s faces, & trying to get Shoto to be a man, while threatening to fry anyone who ticks him off.
He’s essentially the in-game Grand Theft Auto 5 character Impotent Rage, but with all the worst character traits of the character Gaston from Beauty & the Beast, all wrapped in a “I can do whatever I want cause I’m filthy rich & powerful as heck” vibe.
For Endevor’s voice, were looking for someone who can sound similar to the English dub voice of Diavolo from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 5 (Golden Wind)

(This line happens during the famous moment where Shoto finally uses his fire during the sports festival against Midoriya. Below is Endevors reaction to seeing Shoto finally use his flames.)
(Yelling, proud, boastful) "SHOOTO!!!! YES!! Finally after soo many years, You've finally done it! You've caved in and mustered the strength to use your left side! This is it! Your first step to becoming a REAL man! Now show me my son! Show me what your capable of and annihilate that retched child!!!"
(THIS LINE HAPPENS AFTER THE SPORTS FESTIVAL FIGHT BETWEEN TODOROKI & MIDORIYA WHERE SHOTO DEFEATS MIDORTIYA. ENDEVOR MEETS UP WITH SHOTO AFTER THE FIGHT TO SPEAK TO HIS SON ABOUT HIM FINALLY USING HIS LEFT SIDE IN A FIGHT.)
(Unusually proud, prideful, light hints of selfishness) "Well, if it isn't the boy who finally learned to throw fire. Ha ha ha, I know I'm too busy being the #2 hero and frying assholes to say this, but for the first time in years, I'm actually proud of you Shoto. You've shown me & the rest of the world a taste of the true power you have inside of you, and for once, you did it without mumbling on about dinosaurs & firetrucks, or whatever childish nonsense you keep in your head."

Gran Torino is a grizzled, haggard, Vietnam veteran from America. He trash talks commies, and reminisces about his days in Vietnam.
He'll also have a major role in the second season episodes where he'll use his military training/techniques of rehabilitation to try and set Midoriya straight and make him kick his vulgar, selfish, power hungry attitude (or just beat the snot of um just for the heck of it.)
For his voice, either mimic his English Dub voice, or do a Clint Eastwood-type voice like his character in the Movie Gran Torino. Just think about the kind of voice an 80-year-old war veteran would have.

This is an urgent role, meaning that we need this role filled as soon as possible. If you get chosen for Uraraka, be ready to begin work as soon as you were chosen for this part. Also this role is for one of the main characters in the series, so make sure your in a place where you can commit to this role for the long-term.
Uraraka is very different from how shes portrayed in the series. Ochako in the abridged is a laid back, Passive aggressive bitch who teases people and isn't afraid to think for herself & throw shade at others, preferably with Midoriya. She has her moments where she can be somewhat kind & behave, but for most of her screen-time, she'll be one of the more ill-mannered characters in the abridged
The best character I can compare her to is the character Hayase Nagatoro from the Manga/Anime series "Please Don't Bully me Miss Nagatoro" only difference is she legitimately doesn't like the guy shes paired with for most of her screen-time and is less assertive and a tad more mean-spirited with her comments & teasing.
For Uraraka's Voice, were looking for someone who can closely sound like her Funimation voice. (LINKS BELOW FOR REFERENCE.)

(Surprised, passive-aggressive, fake chipper) - "Woah! You should really watch where you’re going! You could ruin my- I mean someone’s shoes like that! Haha, I’m just kidding! Yeah, Kidding. Well, uh, anyways, see you inside!"
(THESE TWO LINES ARE FROM THE HERO COMBAT TRAINING EPISODE WHERE MIDORIYA & URARAKA ARE GOING OVER A PLAN TO DEFEAT BAKUGO & IIDA. URARAKA IS LOOKING AT THE BUILDING SCHEMATICS AND BEGINS TO ASK MIDORIYA IF HES READY FOR THIS.)
(demeaning, passive aggressive) - "So you can actually do this, right? You aren’t going to break yourself again are you?"
(same tone as before, if only a little shocked) - "Oh! I guess not, huh? Someone looks a little scared."
(This line is from the cafeteria scene after Midoriya gets chosen as the class representative. Izuku's a bit nervous about being the rep but perks up as soon as he notices Uraraka calls Midoriya by his name for the first time instead of mocking him. Below is Uraraka's response after Izuku says "Wait, did you just call me by my name!?" )
(Fake-Smiling, passive-aggressive) - "Of course I called you by your name, you’re the class rep now, and we gotta start treating you as such. I mean, we wouldn’t want the rest of the school to think our leader is some lonely bed headed loser that mutters to himself about anime girl boobs or whatever, you know?"

Izuku Midoriya (URGENT)

This role is for the major lead character in the abridged series. So if you get picked for this role, Please be ready to work in every episode of the abridged AND work closely with the team and the project. Also, This is an urgent role, meaning that we need this role filled as soon as possible. If you get chosen for Midoriya, be ready to begin work as soon as you were chosen for this part. Lastly, this version of Midoriya is quite the vulgar character. If you are not comfortable saying offensive lines, Do not audition for this part.
Izuku Midoriya's personality in this abridged series is quite different from how hes portrayed in the series. Midoriya is the typical scrawny kid you see in those 80's-90's high school/college movies who gets picked on and made fun of by the others in school. Because of this, hes got a bit of pent up rage and a foul mouth to go with it. He decides to finally stand up for himself and to stop being a whiny little push-over and thinks the best way to go about this is to find All-Might and convince him to give him his quirk so that he can "Become A God." Internally, he acts and think's like a vulgar, power-hungry bastard that thinks he's better than everyone cause he's got All-Mights power, but externally, he's just a whiny little pushover who think's he's all that.
For this role, were looking for an American teenager voice that's a bit whiny/dorky. We want to hear as many different takes and styles as possible for Izuku's voice. So do whichever voice you think would fir for an abridged Midoriya.
If you can sound like a Jaded Morty from Rick & Morty without the stutters or like Izuku Midoriya's Funimation Voice, its a plus, but not completely necessary.
(THIS LINE IS DURING THE HERO TEAM / VILLAIN TEAM FIGHT TRAINING WITH BAKUGO & IIDA VS MIDORIYA & URARAKA. IZUKU IS FIGHTING BAKUGO AS URARAKA RUNS OFF.)
(Winded, a bit shell-shocked) - "Did she seriously just run off to leave me to fight Hiroshima-reincarnated by myself?! JEEZ Not only am I fighting the man behind nine-eleven, but my partner’s a spineless—hot —but still spineless bitch!"
(THIS LINE IS A TWO-PARTER FROM THE ENTRANCE EXAMS WHERE MIDORIYA ONE SHOTS THE ZERO POINTER ROBOT AND SAVES URARAKA. AFTER HE PUNCHES THE ROBOT HE REALIZES HE CAN'T FLY AND IS FALLING TO THE GROUND.)
(Shocked) - "Holy Crap! Did I just turn that zero pointer int- Wait. oh fuck! I’m falling! Oh God! Alright, maybe All Might can fly. Maybe with this power i got, I’ll just start flying. If not, at least I have my super limbs to break my..."
*Realizes his limbs are broken & useless*
(Add a bit of resentment in this line, like you just found out All-Might screwed you over.)
"...fall. Oh you CAN'T BE SERIOUS! Why didn’t that asshole warn me about this?! He wanted me to die like this, Like a bitch! He’s a goddamn super villain!
(THIS LINE IS DURING THE CAFETERIA SCENE AFTER MIDORIYA GETS CHOSEN FOR THE CLSSS REP ROLE. IIDA JUST TOLD URARAKA & MIDORIYA ABOUT HIS RELATION TO THE FAMOUS & FILTHY RICH INGENIUM FAMILY AND THE TWO ARE SUDDENLY INTERESTED IN IIDA. BELOW IS MIDORIYA'S INTERNAL REACTION TO FINDING OUT TENYA IS RICH.)
(Internal, evenhanded, open) - Heh, So Iidas actually rich huh? Alright. The guys gotta massive stick up his ass and can be annoying as hell about the dress code, but I guess I can put up with him if he’s loaded. I mean sure Yaoyorozu’s loaded too, but there's no way she’d lend me 50 bucks if I asked… Wait, would Iida lend me cash if I asked? I mean, if I lie and say it’s for something school related, he might do it. Guess it wouldn’t hurt to find out.

Kalen Rogers
Best Jeanist is a hero known for his swagger. In the abridged, everyone knows him as the "Freshest" person in all of Japan. He's got the fresh moves, the fresh hair, the fresh clothes, and is overall the cool guy in the series that everyone hopes to be when they get older. He prides himself on having the best fashion sense of all the heroes in Japan and tends to be a charismatic show-off when it comes to his fashion sense. The only reason he isn't any higher in the hero polls is because he spends more time running his fashion brand than fighting crime, unless in dire circumstances, No one really questions him on this. He's just too busy being cool.
For Jeanist's voice, were looking for a Keannu Reeves style voice. Try sounding like a comedic version of his character, Johnny Silverhand from Cyberpunk 2077.
(smooth, sultry) - "The only thing more difficult than being a hero, is looking this drip in luxurious special designer clothes. This is problem you may have to deal with someday Bakugo, IF you ever make it to the big leagues and develop good taste that is."
(informative, charismatic) - Bakugo, the first thing to remember about being a hero is that you have to be threaded to the gills. Straight clean as hell. I’m talking dripped to the nuts.
(Retorting, after being insulted) - Talk all the shit you want, but I’m as crisp as an autumn day.

All-For One is an interesting one. Before he became the big bad of My Hero Abridged, he was a sleazy, Wolf of Wall Street, businessman type that was blessed with a very powerful quirk that he used to help people. He also had a beautiful wife, a family, and lived a happy life. But everything changed when he crossed All-Might. Who after one wrong misunderstood comment, had his face ripped clean off by the pro-hero with a single punch (Yeah All-Might in this series is a psychotic nutcase.) In the aftermath, he lost most of his face, his wife left him along with his kids, and slowly descending into a light depressed madness as a result. As such, he became a high profile criminal mastermind, hoping to one day get back at All-Might for ruining his life.
He’s essentially the character Father from Codename: Kids Next Door, but more of a grumpy, middle aged man that just wants to grill steaks, invest in stocks, and give questionable fatherly advice to Shigiraki and his “Friends” in the League of Villains, while having pent up revenge fantasies about getting back at All-Might one day for ruining his life.
For All For One’s voice were looking for a middle-aged man voice that sort of deep and masculine. The perfect voice were looking for is something like the character Cabot from the game Evolve. (Links below.)

(This line plays during the scene where Toga & Dabi first meet Shigiraki, & All-For-One joins in on the conversation. Toga tells All-For-One that she met Shigiraki in an online chat session where they bonded over creepypasta content, and even told the man some of the things Shigiraki said to her. Below is one of the things All-For-One says to Shigiraki in disappointment.
(Heavily disappointed, a little annoyed) - Shigiraki, are you, seriously THIS pussy-starved, dude? You do know right that i'm, I dunno, one of the most influential and infamous villains of all time? Getting a hooker for you wouldn’t be a problem in the least.
(This scene happened after Shigiraki is forced to retreat from his attack on the USJ. Shigiraki is laying on the ground inside his hideout freaking out that he got shot and is bleeding all over the place. All-For One than starts a video call to see how the attack went. below is what he says.)
(Start half-hearted, than transition to shock and concern) - "Heey, Shigiraki, I saw you've returned from your USJ attack. and i- o- ooOOH MY GOD! Shigiraki! What happened to you!? Good god, are those bullet holes!? Did you pick a fight with those inner-city hooligans again with the baggy pants and the gang affiliation? I thought you were going to kill All-Might. What happened?"
(This scene is before the Big All-For-One vs All Might fight where All Might comes into the fray and confronts All-For-One before their big battle.)
(tired, exhausted) - Listen All-Might, as much as I would LOVE to crush your head in, I just want to go home, I evaded my taxes ONCE already. Havn't you done enough to me as it is? My wife left me, My kids don’t talk to me anymore, and it's all because you ripped my damn face off like a chimpanzee and made me look like a Freddy Krueger fuck doll made by someone with a brain injury. How a psychotic animal like you is the #1 hero and not in prison or a psyche ward is beyond me.
