Ladies and gentlemen, I do apologize for my absence! Life got crazy, and it still is! I'm now down in florida for until early next year depending on whether or not I wish to stay after my Disney College Program ends. On the bright side, I now get to see the Carousel of Progress more often (Yay! Childhood memories!) and have some nicer weather than where I was (in chicago). if ANYBODY has any comments, questions, or concerms please notify me ASAP! thank you, and have a great big beautiful tomorrow!

With still some roles needing to be filled, 2 roles with shortlisted VAs, and understudies to be found, I figured I would push the project deadline back to allow me time to also find more musicians and editors. -

One down a few to go!
I have officially cast the first of hopefully three 1920s chorus members!
chorus for the introduction. Male and female will have split roles. You must be willing to work together with others that are selected for this role. Only an equal amount of each gender will be selected. No less than 2 of each gender. You must also be willing to work with me as the vocal tracks will be reused in the first act (although edited) as backing vocals for the father, which i am portraying.
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day. There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, and tomorrow is just a dream away!
It's a dream come true for you and me.
Female part of the duet at the end. You will need to be willing to work with a male for the duet to achieve harmony and to ensure that the duet turns out as nicely as possible.
Man has a dream and that's the start, he follows his dream with mind and heart
So there's a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day! There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, just a dream away!
Male part of the duet at the end. You will need to be willing to work with a male for the duet to achieve harmony and to ensure that the duet turns out as nicely as possible.

This is the son. He will not sing and is only in acts 1-3. the son in act 4 will be seperate.
(surprise and delight) Wowee look at that!
(jokingly) That's cause i'm using my beautiful sister patty's picture for a model!
(taken back) Shucks, every time he has company he blows a fuse, and guess who always has to change it?!
This is the son grown up. He will sing and is only in act 4. the son in acts 1-3 is a seperate role. He will only sing when all of the rest of the family in the act 4 sings theme song (i.e. he will not have a solo).
(happy, as if playing a video game) Yes! 300 points my best score yet
(Reassuringly) Don't worry dad, some day everything's going to be so automated, you won't ever have to cook another christmas turkey again.
(Excited) Hey, check it out, dad! Grandma's up to 975 points!
This is uncle orville. He will hum "you're a grand old flag" and will only have one line (recorded once, but used twice)
(unhappy) No privacy at all around this place!
You will need to sound less like a stereotypical old person voice wise and more like a grandmother (think of how your grandma sounded). This is also has a singing part in the theme song , but not a solo.
(jokingly) I do! I'm starving!
(Excited, to a video game) Take that you nincompoop!
(Understanding) Laser blaster? Well, I'll give it a try!
This will need to sound computerized. and you must say each number seamlessly, (i.e. no pauses between any numbers except those that would be expected when you are speaking.). If you cannot pull that off, you may request to either edit your voice yourself to make it sound computerized, or have me or someone else take care of such. Alternatively, you can submit a text to speech voice saying these lines and you will recieve a "special thanks" in the credits.
Temperature incresed to 375 (say each number i.e. "three seven five"
bake mode overload, command overload
Bake mode complete, enjoy your meal
This role will be part of the 1940's scene when the grandma is watching boxing. Try to keep your chanting to a minimum and more generic like "yeah" or "yay". Remember, this is going to sound more like 1940s boxing than it is a football game broadcast on tv.
(cheering)
You will need to sound like a parrot for this role. The parrot complains about the music in act 1.
(squawk) she keeps that thing going all day long! (squawk) progress (squawk, whistle (sounding more like a quick 'cuckoo' whistle))
I am going to need someone to attempt to recreate the music from the last scene from the video game (unfortunately there is not much of clear or clean audio)
Say something you think would fit
You will provide the instrumental tracks for the instrument you play. You must be able to record you or someone else playing a certain instrument (i.e. a direct studio quality recording) and be able to learn by ear the music. Some instruments will plkay solo at times and will be marked as "(solo)"
Instruments and groups:
piano
synth
Drum machine or synth drums

percussion
violin
bass (not bass guitar)
Horn
trombone
flute (solo)
clarient

Say something you think would fit
Patty starts out as a teenage daughter in act 1, but eventually becomes a young adult in act 3, that will NOT affect how she sounds though. She is a sweet innocent girl. If you wish to match your voice to how she sounds exactly, her voice will sound just like Debbi Derryberry, but if you can't amtch her voice exactly, a voice that sounds similar will work fine.
(dejectedly) yes papa
Look at that, It even talks back!
(Sing there's a great big beautiful tomorrow, note that the act 4 guideline coming soon and you may be asked to sing again from that version!)
I'm looking for people to help with editing. this includes but is not limited to: balancing sound levels on tracks, aligning music with vocals, and assembling audio clips for the final product
Say something you think would fit
(Old time 1920s newscaster voice)People are starting to arrive downtown for a spectacular Fourth of July parade and fireworks event tonight. Mayor beaverfield said about

Ooh la la, so that’s the little Egypt doing the hoochie koochie, eh, dad?
(A little irritated) Shucks! Every time he has company he blows a fuse! And guess who always has to change it!?
Hey dad! What do you think of my jack-o-lantern?

You’re gonna lose ‘em grandma, bank to the right
(Sing the theme song)
Understudy for mother/Sarah. For this role, you will need to be able to sing. Although it says “middle age” for the role, I will GLADLY accept any adult voice between young adult and middle age!

That's what they call progress, dear!
You will need to be able to sound like a parrot. Male? Female? Up to you! This role is the understudy for the role featured in act 1 where said character complains about the music.
(squawk) she keeps that thing going all day long! (squawk) progress (squawk, whistle (sounding more like a quick 'cuckoo' whistle))
If you wish to be heard in one of the choruses despite some roles already being filled, feel free to try out here! Please choose from either the 1890s, 1920s, or 1940s chorus. Please follow the guideline video for more info. if you don't care where you are placed, just sing the theme song and I will place you as I see fit. The more the merrier!
sing either the 1890s, 1920s, or 1940s chorus
The neighbor has one line in the 1920s scene when the fuse blows and as a result the whole neighborhood loses power
Henry! He did it again! Go over and give that neighbor of ours what for!
In the event that the primary VA for the oven is unable to make it, you will be selected to fill the role. The oven isa basically going to sound more computerized/automated so phrases and numbers are going to be seperate files.
