Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea Fandub - Second Wave Casting!
Project Overview
This is my second casting call for this project. You can view the first one here. Certain characters will be cast sooner than others. The date they will be cast is in their descriptions! Please note that some roles may not be cast until late July - early August.
Taken from vgperson's site:
Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea is a pseudo-RPG with a heavy story focus, made by Deep-Sea Prisoner in RPG Maker 2000.
A clear blue sea under a beautiful blue sky.
After a long departure, the sea witch Wadanohara travels back home with her familiars.
But her ex-familiar, the shark Samekichi, appears to block her way:
"You shouldn't be here... Leave this sea, right now."
You can click here to download and play the game for yourself.
Please refrain from auditioning if the following makes you uncomfortable, as there is such content implied or explicitly shown in-game:
- Implied sexual assault
- Blood and gore
- Body horror
Please take note of the following before auditioning:
- Due to certain content/imagery within the game, you must be 17+ to audition. If you are found to not meet this requirement, your audition will not be considered.
- Have a decent mic. You don't need anything fancy-schmancy, but try to avoid popping/peaking and excessive background noise.
- Be committed. Do your best to make deadlines and stick around for the long haul. Communicate with the director and others if problems arise.
- Be creative! No characters have a canonical voice, as the original game is not voiced.
- Have a Discord. If cast, you will be invited to a server where everyone will communicate and scripts will be sent.
Characters may be added to this casting call at any point in time - an update will be posted if this happens!
Ignore the posted deadline - it is currently not set in stone.
Best of luck, and have fun auditioning!

Latest Updates
-
The deadline has been moved back to September 20th! The remaining roles still don't have many auditions, so I want to have as big of a reach as possible. In the meantime, the second part of the Wadanohara Fandub has been posted! Feel free to check it out on my Youtube channel, AlyVA.

Deadlines
Hi everyone! Sorry for being a tad MIA! I'll be casting any auditions whose deadlines have passed in the first week of August, as my time of Being Too Busy To Do Anything is coming to a close. Any auditions sent up to then will still be considered. Thank you all for your patience, and once again, I apologize! -
July 13th Auditions
Any roles with a July 13th deadline will be cast either tonight or over the next few days! Any auditions sent in for them today will still be considered! I also updated the deadline to next month. It is not the official deadline!
Pulmo is kind and loyal, with a bit of a floaty/slow personality. She dreams of going to the world outside the sea and she cares a lot about the welfare of her friends. Although commonly seen as tactless and air-headed, she's always thinking.
NOTE: This role will be cast ASAP.
Voice: High, sing-song/airy
"Welcome baack, Waadanohaara. Hoow was your triip? Fwaaaah..."
"We may neeeed her to taake care of thiis."
(Injured) "B..Be careful... It's not just.... them... Oo... Oof..."
Irena is shown to like naps and snacks. During a flashback in the game, Irena often sends Wadanohara on errands seeing as she can't walk on land. She enjoys singing.
NOTE: Since this is a minor role, you will have a higher chance to voice extras/obtain multiple roles if cast! This role will be cast ASAP.
Voice: Medium-High
"Ooh! These apples were really, really good!"
"Oh my, someone's jealous!"
"“Anyway, knowing you made it back safely… Now I can nap in peace."
Creamil is a humanoid yeti crab. She is in Minero's friend group and often shows off but isn't on bad terms with anyone.
NOTE: Since this is a minor role, you will have a higher chance to voice extras/obtain multiple roles if cast! This role will be cast ASAP.
Voice: Any!
"Ugh, Minero's such a troublemaker..."
"Thanks to you, we'll never find any of it!"
"Your intuition is never accurate, is it?"
Jiiya is a small fish that acts as a servant for Princess Uomihime and speaks for her while she is asleep.
This role will be cast on July 13th.
Voice: Jiiya does not have a specified gender, so any voice could work for them. However, I'm looking for a somewhat higher pitched voice.
"There have been many aggressions made by those of Tosatsu Kingdom. Their might gradually strengthens! At whatever cost, they must be stopped!"
"Y-Y-Yooou! What rudeness are you saying about the princess?!"
"Eh-hem! The princess states... You are welcomed back!"
Miyura is a mermaid and a close friend of Seguro's. She is described as foolhardy and a bit of a klutz. She uses words like "man" and "dude" often.
This role will be cast on July 13th.
Voice: Medium; Bubbly and expressive.
(She isn't paying attention and walks into the protagonist, realizing who they are at the end.)
"Waugh!! S-S-Sorry 'bout that! Wasn't looking... huh?"
"Helica's nuts, dude... Well, guess she kinda always is."
"Stuff's been, like, pretty extreme lately... Dangerous to act alone."
A close friend of Miyua's, Seguro is a yellow-bellied sea snake. He puts on a brave face even when he's nervous, and cares about his friends even if he seems intimidating at first.
This role will be cast on July 13th.
Voice: A deeper voice is desired, but I am open to anything.
"Helica's such a lightweight, yet she's always drinking..."
"Ugh, that buffoon... We gotta find her soon."
"Don't be stupid!"
Orca is a killer whale. He is cruel and sadistic, typically targeting Samekichi with the goal of ultimately killing and eating him. He also smokes heavily throughout the game. However, he is at times helpful, depending on his mood.
This role will be cast on July 20th.
Voice: Medium-Low; possibly more gruff, as he is a heavy smoker.
"Ahh, you know this shark? I had quite a bit of fun. Haven't bullied a shark in all too long. I was just thinking of finishing him off..."
"Owowow... My bad. Shouldn't have picked a fight with a witch..."
"Let's see. Small? Check. Fry? I'd wager you do fry well."
Hofuru is a humanoid tanuki and is an underling of Princess Totsusahime. She is quite solemn and composed, and does not tend to show emotion. Artamos is her master.
This role will be cast on July 20th.
Voice: I assume her voice is quite monotone, unless in times of desperation or anxiousness. Any range is fine.
"I was too quick to consider the job done, I suppose... I'll have you disappear, sea witch."
"Oh, Your Majesty... It does serve you right."
"P-Princess... Please calm down."
Artamos is the ruler of the Totsusa Kingdom and is the father of Tosusahime. He is a mechanical robot head, and was turned into a robot by a witch. He is typically calm and collected, but can become infuriated if harm comes to his daughter.
This role will be cast on July 30th.
Voice: Medium-Low, fatherly. You can add voice effects if you'd like, but it's not needed!
"I got distracted on my stroll... I got a bit lost! Hahaha~!"
"Used too much energy on my walk it seems... Sorry!"
"...You. You hurt my daughter. No forgiveness... no forgiveness.... NONE."
Ver is a demon mercenary hired by the Totsusa Kingdom. She has a very tomboyish personality and dislikes girly things. While she is friends with Wadanohara, she values completing her mission more than her friendships.
This character will be cast on July 30th.
Voice: I feel a medium-low voice might work the best, but I am open to anything for her. She is very blunt and can go from being nice to intimidating very quickly.
"Finally feeling the flame again!"
(Surprised) "W-Well, isn't that odd?! Why is Wadanohara here..."
(Before battle) "How powerful have you become? ...Why don't you show me? Hahahah!"
Laurentia is a demon mercenary. She is rather cheerful and bubbly, but in a threatening way.
This role will be cast on July 30th.
Voice: Medium-High. I expect her to have more of a cutesy voice, yet still unnerving.
"I'm a demon employed by the Tosatsu Kingdom. Call me Laurentia."
"Heehee! Entertain me, would you?"
Vendetto is a demon mercenary hired by the Totsusa Kingdom. He is stubborn, conceited, and overly confident.
This role will be cast on August 5th.
Voice: I am open to any kind of voice. He is a tough-acting character, so I am looking for a confident voice.
"Hah, you ain't so tough. Sheesh, this might be a pretty boring job."
"Give us your best shot, got it?"
(After getting hit with a rock) "OWW!! Huh?! Who're you?!"
Old is the father of Samekichi and Sal. He has a grudge against Tatsumiya and is set on harming her, no matter what the cost.
Voice: Low, preferably middle-aged and gruff.
"Hmph... Say what you like, lass. I'm gonna tear you to pieces."
"I'll tear up your pretty little face... Just like you did to me!"
Mikotsu is mostly quiet, as her skeleton fish usually talks for her. She is a main antagonist, although she has a small amount of lines. She descended into insanity after being abandoned by her father and sister, Princess Uomi.
Voice: I imagine her voice to be raspy or weak, as she had supposedly "forgotten" how to speak.
"...fAthEr... wHy....?"
*creepy laugh/giggle*
Sheep is a minor antagonist and works for the Sea of Death. They have a small amount of lines.
Voice: I imagine a voice like Sucy's from Little Witch Academia, or any androgynous-type voice. However, I am open to other variations and takes on their voice.
"If I can make everybody suffer... Just that'll make me happy."
(After losing a battle) "U...ghhh.... Ahh..... No use... ahah."
Tsuribari is a minor antagonist. He is a boy who died at sea. He is on the quiet side, but is quite menacing on the inside.
Voice: This character is able to be voiced by anyone, as he is a young boy. An androgynous/child voice is preferred.
"Everybody should just suffer."
"You don't know the past... so I doubt you know. But do you think you're right?"
Stella is a starfish corpse. She is a minor antagonist of the game, usually seen with Tsuribari. She is quite quiet, apathetic, and depressed. She has a very small amount of lines.
Voice: Medium-High. She is very quiet and shy, so a more breathy voice may be preferred.
"It's useless."
*crying noises/sniffles*
The Great Witch is the head of all witches. She has a little amount of lines. She is quite cold and stubborn, yet also wise.
Voice: A medium-low voice may work best for her. She speaks very carefully and confidently, while keeping composure.
"I'm sure someday, you too will understand... what it means to be a 'witch'."
"Wadanohara, it's best you resolve this problem yourself."
