Vigilantes, Inc: Season One - Audio Edition

Project Overview

Vigilantes, Inc. is an established action-packed web series that has been actively producing content since 2022. Now we're expanding into audio drama with an adaptation of our explosive first season—a thrilling superhero origin story set in the futuristic island city-state of New Atlantis.

The Story

Fifteen years after Senator James Atlas unveiled New Atlantis as humanity's technological paradise, the gleaming city-state has become a haven for both dreamers and criminals. What was promised as a fresh start has attracted the worst alongside the best.

When the notorious crime syndicate The Ouroboros storms New Atlantis University's first-ever Science and Arts Expo, two brilliant students find themselves thrust into a deadly game of survival:

  • Lance Shepherd - A tech-savvy engineering student whose innovative AI assistant L.A.S.S.I. becomes a crucial accessory

  • Adam Chase - A forensic science major whose experimental BioBots and quick thinking help level the playing field

Using their combined skills, academic projects, and improvised weapons, Lance and Adam orchestrate a daring rescue that saves the day. But their victory comes with a realization: New Atlantis needs more than traditional law enforcement.

It needs vigilantes.

Why We're Excited About Audio Drama

The world of Vigilantes, Inc. offers incredible opportunities for immersive sound design—from bustling cityscapes to tense hostage situations, from a digital assistant's computerized voice to explosive action sequences. Our character-driven story balances high-stakes action with genuine relationships and development.

What Makes This Special
  • Grounded Heroes: No superpowers—just intelligence, determination, and realistic technology... for now...

  • Rich World-Building: A detailed futuristic setting inspired by beloved comic book traditions

  • Established Universe: Part of an ongoing series with extensive development

Every epic saga has its heroes and its villains. Its triumphs and its tragedies. But before the first punch is thrown or the first secret is revealed, it needs a storyteller. We're looking for the voice that will bring our world to life. The one who can make you feel the tension in the air and the hope in a hero’s heart.

  • The ever-likable Senator James Atlas was going to reveal the details of his extraordinary humanitarian effort that had plagued the city and the nation with rumors. As the teeming attendees were finalizing last minute details and finding their seats, a booming speaker from somewhere behind the stage proclaimed the entrance of the much-anticipated political figure.

  • The man named Lance turned and spotted a familiar slender figure in a black tux printed tee, toting a backpack, dashing towards him. He was leaving an edgy carbon black police car with the words “NEW ATLANTIS POLICE” in bold white letters and a royal blue outline painted on the hood and sides of the car. If that wasn’t enough of an explanation, the word “SWAT” was imprinted on the rear window behind the driver. The young man had barely gotten out of the back of the cruiser and shut the door when it roared again and shot off towards the city center. Lance watched the car disappear into the distance and looked back to his approaching friend. Grinning, Lance couldn’t help giving him a hard time as he slowed to a brisk walk.

While the series as a whole has had an artist, we would like to find someone who can dedicate their style to this particular iteration of the series. The goal would still be to take inspiration from the existing character designs and scenes, but to make them in your own style while helping create illustrations and graphics for the audio episodes to come.

JAMES ATLAS (Male, 40–55) – A Recurring Character, the charismatic Mayor of New Atlantis whose polished public image conceals a far more sinister agenda.

Character Overview:  Once a Senator, Atlas now serves as the beloved mayor of New Atlantis, a magnetic figure who blends political savvy with eccentric charm. He’s quotable, approachable, and seemingly devoted to the city’s prosperity. But beneath the surface lies a calculating strategist with ambitions that stretch far beyond public service. His scenes in Season One are brief but impactful, planting seeds of mystery and manipulation that will grow into a central conflict as the series unfolds.

Voice & Performance Requirements:

  • Strong, authoritative voice with both youthful energy and mature gravitas

  • Ability to shift seamlessly between warm public persona and cold, strategic menace

  • Range that conveys paternal charm, political eloquence, and quiet intimidation

  • Skill in maintaining underlying tension even in seemingly benign dialogue

  • Talent for delivering speeches, interviews, and intimate conversations with equal conviction

  • Ability to let controlled fury crack through the polished facade when needed

  • Voice that suggests hidden depths, long-term planning, and unspoken threats

Character Inspiration:  Atlas is the kind of leader who makes people feel seen, until they realize he’s been watching them all along. His charisma is genuine, but it’s weaponized. Every word is calculated, every smile rehearsed.

This is a recurring role with major narrative significance in later seasons, requiring a performance that hints at deeper mysteries from the very beginning.

His short temper and intolerance for failure make him a volatile presence, yet his strategic mind and physical prowess keep him firmly in control.
