Such an astounding turnout of auditions for the project! We have a couple more weeks left and I've gotta say there are some amazing VAs here! Thank you to everyone who has shown interest in Vigilantes, Inc.
After the end of the year I will be reaching out for the selections, so stay tuned!
Every epic saga has its heroes and its villains. Its triumphs and its tragedies. But before the first punch is thrown or the first secret is revealed, it needs a storyteller. We're looking for the voice that will bring our world to life. The one who can make you feel the tension in the air and the hope in a hero’s heart.
The ever-likable Senator James Atlas was going to reveal the details of his extraordinary humanitarian effort that had plagued the city and the nation with rumors. As the teeming attendees were finalizing last minute details and finding their seats, a booming speaker from somewhere behind the stage proclaimed the entrance of the much-anticipated political figure.
The man named Lance turned and spotted a familiar slender figure in a black tux printed tee, toting a backpack, dashing towards him. He was leaving an edgy carbon black police car with the words “NEW ATLANTIS POLICE” in bold white letters and a royal blue outline painted on the hood and sides of the car. If that wasn’t enough of an explanation, the word “SWAT” was imprinted on the rear window behind the driver. The young man had barely gotten out of the back of the cruiser and shut the door when it roared again and shot off towards the city center. Lance watched the car disappear into the distance and looked back to his approaching friend. Grinning, Lance couldn’t help giving him a hard time as he slowed to a brisk walk.

While the series as a whole has had an artist, we would like to find someone who can dedicate their style to this particular iteration of the series. The goal would still be to take inspiration from the existing character designs and scenes, but to make them in your own style while helping create illustrations and graphics for the audio episodes to come.

*Say something you think would fit*
There are MANY characters in the Vigilantes, Inc. series that are not prominent but will still need voices! There is a specific list for some side characters, but we would like people to be versatile and voice more than one if/when necessary. Feel free to audition for multiple characters, but please note which voice you are auditioning for.
In order of appearance:
Side Character - Description
*Say something you think would fit*
JAMES ATLAS (Male, 40–55) – A Recurring Character, the charismatic Mayor of New Atlantis whose polished public image conceals a far more sinister agenda.
Character Overview: Once a Senator, Atlas now serves as the beloved mayor of New Atlantis, a magnetic figure who blends political savvy with eccentric charm. He’s quotable, approachable, and seemingly devoted to the city’s prosperity. But beneath the surface lies a calculating strategist with ambitions that stretch far beyond public service. His scenes in Season One are brief but impactful, planting seeds of mystery and manipulation that will grow into a central conflict as the series unfolds.
Voice & Performance Requirements:
Strong, authoritative voice with both youthful energy and mature gravitas
Ability to shift seamlessly between warm public persona and cold, strategic menace
Range that conveys paternal charm, political eloquence, and quiet intimidation
Skill in maintaining underlying tension even in seemingly benign dialogue
Comfort with layered, morally complex characters and subtle vocal shifts
Talent for delivering speeches, interviews, and intimate conversations with equal conviction
Ability to let controlled fury crack through the polished facade when needed
Voice that suggests hidden depths, long-term planning, and unspoken threats
Character Inspiration: Atlas is the kind of leader who makes people feel seen, until they realize he’s been watching them all along. His charisma is genuine, but it’s weaponized. Every word is calculated, every smile rehearsed.
This is a recurring role with major narrative significance in later seasons, requiring a performance that hints at deeper mysteries from the very beginning.
[DRAMATIC SPEECH] Motivation… [BRIEF PAUSE] It is the key to success and is instrumental in transformation.”
[HALF-JOKING WITH A DARK CHUCKLE] Haha! That was a good one, Mayor! I’ll certainly give you that. For a moment there, I thought you were serious and wasn’t sure if you were going to make it out of this party alive!
[OMINOUSLY] And so, it begins...
CHAMILLA LEONNE (Female, 28–35) – A Supporting Character, the poised and highly capable executive assistant to Mayor James Atlas. Beneath her professional exterior lies a calculating operative with a quiet hand in New Atlantis’s darkest dealings.
Character Overview: Chamilla is the engine behind Atlas’s public persona—managing his schedule, smoothing political tensions, and ensuring every detail of his operation runs flawlessly. To most, she’s the model of administrative excellence: calm, efficient, and unfailingly polite. But in truth, Chamilla is far more than an assistant. She operates as Atlas’s covert agent, gathering intelligence, executing discreet tasks, and ensuring his hidden schemes unfold without interruption. Her presence in Season One is subtle, but her influence is unmistakable—and her role expands dramatically as the series progresses.
Voice & Performance Requirements:
Warm, professional tone that conveys competence and reliability
Ability to shift seamlessly between helpful assistant and calculating operative
Range that suggests both genuine warmth and quiet manipulation
Skill in delivering exposition and administrative dialogue with clarity and intrigue
Comfort with scenes involving covert strategy, veiled threats, and political maneuvering
Voice that contrasts Atlas’s volatility with cool, controlled precision
Talent for layering subtext and hidden agendas beneath polished delivery
Ability to evolve the performance as Chamilla’s true role becomes more central
Character Inspiration: Chamilla is the kind of person who never raises her voice—because she never needs to. Her power lies in precision, discretion, and the quiet certainty that she’s always one step ahead.
This is a supporting role with limited presence in Season One but significant expansion in later seasons, requiring a performance that builds complexity over time.
[CALLING OUT] MR. SENATOR!
[EXCITED] Actually, the free food is only part of the reason. I am actually here to show you this.
[STERN/DEMANDING] More than that. I need a full sweep—witness statements, public media feeds, anything House 21 hasn’t buried. They were out in public, Sylvia. People saw them. We’re past the shadows now. I want to know who they spoke to, if anyone, and why they were working with these particular officers… [PAUSE] Lieutenants Cody Chase and Angel Clark.
LANCE SHEPHERD (Male, 20–25) – A Lead Character, a brilliant mechanical engineering student whose technical genius and hidden past shape his journey from quiet innovator to armored vigilante.
Character Overview: Lance is an engineering student at New Atlantis University, balancing humble circumstances with extraordinary intellect. His engineering skills rival seasoned professionals, and he serves as the tech mastermind behind the vigilante duo he forms with Adam. From armor systems to advanced AI, Lance builds the tools that make their mission possible. Though confident and composed, he carries secrets that hint at a deeper, more complex history—one that occasionally strains his partnership and adds tension to his otherwise heroic persona. Season One introduces him as both a grounded protagonist and a quietly evolving mystery.
Voice & Performance Requirements:
Youthful but mature voice that conveys intelligence, determination, and quiet strength
Ability to deliver technical exposition with clarity and engagement
Range that captures confident expertise, subtle vulnerability, and moral conviction
Skill in portraying physical presence and tactical focus through voice alone
Comfort with scenes involving engineering dialogue, strategic planning, and emotional conflict
Voice that suggests both mentor-like insight and student-like curiosity
Talent for hinting at hidden layers beneath a composed exterior
Ability to evolve the performance as Lance transitions from idealistic student to seasoned vigilante
Character Inspiration: Lance is the kind of person who builds solutions before asking for help. He’s driven by purpose, haunted by history, and quietly shaping the future of New Atlantis—one invention at a time.
This is a lead role with substantial dialogue, emotional depth, and long-term character development across the series.
It was either bring this bulky thing in early or knock everyone out lugging it in this morning. The thought of the latter is slightly amusing, though.
[TENTATIVE] A few friends and I, including Noel, are all getting together later at the Brewer’s Café. Did Noel mention it to you?
[TAUNTING] I know enough about the Ouroboros that you never turn down a challenge. On top of that I’ve shut down your weapons before. I can easily do more than that; just think of what I’ve done so far.
ADAM CHASE (Male, 18–22) – A Lead Character, a charismatic first-year student whose upbeat personality and forensic instincts make him the perfect counterbalance to Lance Shepherd in their vigilante partnership.
Character Overview: Adam is majoring in Experimental Biotechnology with a minor in Forensic Technology at New Atlantis University. He works part-time at his family’s café, where his coffee addiction and quick wit keep the energy high. Outgoing and fun-loving, Adam is the lighter half of the vigilante duo—but beneath the humor lies a fierce commitment to justice. Inspired by his older brother Cody but determined to forge his own path, Adam brings scientific insight and emotional intuition to the team. His transformation during combat reveals a dramatic shift: from jovial student to focused protector, driven by loyalty and purpose.
Voice & Performance Requirements:
Youthful, energetic voice with natural warmth and humor
Quick wit and strong comedic timing for frequent banter and quips
Ability to shift from lighthearted charm to serious investigative focus
Skill in delivering scientific and forensic exposition with clarity and engagement

Talent for depicting deep friendship and evolving partnership dynamics with Lance
Comfort with action sequences while maintaining emotional authenticity
Character Inspiration: Adam is the kind of person who makes people laugh, then surprises them with how deeply he cares. His strength lies in his heart, his instincts, and his ability to rise when it matters most.
This is a lead role with substantial dialogue, emotional growth, and a dynamic blend of comedy, drama, and action throughout the series.
[SLIGHTLY OUT OF BREATH] I know. I had to help open the café this morning. Thankfully Cody came in for his usual morning coffee and was able to give me a ride here on his way to work.
[ASSURING] Dude, you know I’ve got your back, but they have us actually outgunned! We need a plan.
[SURPRISE] You did surprise me there at the end. I didn’t know you could fight like that.
L.A.S.S.I. (Female Voice, Ageless AI) – A Supporting Character, the Life Assistant Simulated Software Interface created by Lance Shepherd. She serves as the ever-present voice of tactical support, system coordination, and digital insight for the vigilante team.
Character Overview: Originally developed as a university expo project, L.A.S.S.I. has evolved into a fully integrated AI system that manages surveillance, logistics, and real-time analysis for the heroes’ operations. Far beyond a typical voice assistant, she simulates personality traits and conversational nuance, making her interactions feel natural and emotionally attuned. Whether coordinating city-wide monitoring or offering strategic advice mid-combat, L.A.S.S.I. is a vital part of the team’s success. Her presence is consistent throughout the series, offering technical precision.

Greetings, Adam Chase. How are you today?
Yes, Adam: my programming has been given algorithms regarding topics of conversation ranging from general to specific.
Activating.

Character Overview: Noel is the social butterfly of the friend circle—talkative, upbeat, and rarely seen without her boyfriend Scott. Though she jokingly calls herself the “normal one” among her science-obsessed peers, Noel harbors a quiet fascination with their technical pursuits. Thank you all for coming to this momentous event, our first ever Science and Arts Expo here at New Atlantis University!
Thank you so much, Bartholomew. So, there you have it, folks! We will be going around soon for the judging. Mr. Midas, his secretary, Miss Jade, Mrs. Brown, and I will make up the judging panel, which will begin shortly after we finish up here.

Now, I’ve gone through and have seen quite a few of the projects many of you have spent countless hours to complete. I must say it may be tough to decide which is best, as everyone has presented very good ideas and all deserve a chance. In other words, good luck to you all!
[ESTATIC] The way you managed to even think of all you did was impressive, and that is on top of falling within the parameters of the judging criteria for the event we were supposed to have today.

Though his presence in Season One is brief and enigmatic, his influence looms large over the unfolding events. This is a recurring role with significant expansion in later seasons, including pivotal scenes involving the creation of genetically engineered mythological hybrids.
[SMUG] Very interesting work, young man. Much more than a robot to pour your coffee.
[MATTER OF FACT] Decomposable nanobots: the applications for biological interfacing with such an apparatus are quite endless.

Character Overview: Striker is a calculating and dangerous figure whose philosophy—“survival of the worthy”—defines every aspect of his organization. He commands through fear, ritual, and combat, enforcing loyalty with venomous trials and brutal consequences. His short temper and intolerance for failure make him a volatile presence, yet his strategic mind and physical prowess keep him firmly in control. Season One introduces him as a force behind the chaos, gradually revealing a man whose obsession with power and purity borders on mythic fanaticism. [STATEMENT/ANNOUNCEMENT IN JEST] Good morning. I am here to announce a slight deviation from today’s originally scheduled events. For those who don’t know me already, I am John Striker, Head of the Ouroboros. Today you are all our hostages.
[ANNOYED] I still have not heard from the other team and I am sure it is only a matter of time before the police show up. Go find out what is taking so long. [PAUSE] On your way out, tell the others to pay closer attention. There is something suspicious going on.
[SLIGHT ANGER] So, you are the one causing us this trouble. You are much younger than I expected, which probably contributed to the naïve idea that you could take on twelve trained fighters.
SYLVIA WYNTERS (Female, 20–25) – A Supporting Character, a fast-talking journalism student and reporter for NAU’s “Daily Hermes,” whose relentless curiosity may lead her into more than she bargained for.
Character Overview: Sylvia is a junior at New Atlantis University, juggling a double major in graphic design and journalism with the chaotic energy of someone who thrives on deadlines and caffeine... the latter only being indulged under dire emergency. She’s sharp, enthusiastic, and always chasing the next big story, currently covering the university’s Science Fair, which she suspects may be more than just an academic showcase. Her instincts are good, but her eagerness sometimes outpaces her caution, placing her in the crosshairs of events she doesn’t fully understand. This is a recurring supporting role with narrative importance in bonus episodes and potential expansion as the series deepens its exploration of public perception and media influence.
[DRY HUMOR] Oh! Hi, yeah I’m here. Still in one piece in spite of the armed criminals.
[DISMISSIVE] Well, I could have died I suppose, but no big deal! [THEN REALIZING/SOBERING] Someone did actually...
[CONTEMPLATIVE] Oh, I am thinking about this all right... There has to be something more going on... I just have to figure it out...
LIEUTENANT CODY CHASE (Male, 30–40) – A Supporting Character, a disciplined SWAT officer and older brother to Adam and Charlie. Stoic, principled, and fiercely protective, Cody is a stabilizing force in New Atlantis’ law enforcement.
Character Overview: Cody Chase is a seasoned lieutenant in the New Atlantis SWAT Team, known for his tactical precision and unwavering sense of duty. Though he shares many traits with his younger brother Adam, Cody’s demeanor is more serious, shaped by years of service and a deep commitment to protecting both the city and his family. In Season One, his role is brief but impactful, positioned at the edge of the vigilante uprising. As crime escalates and unconventional heroes emerge, Cody finds himself reluctantly working alongside masked figures whose motives he questions… unaware that one of them is his own brother. His arc grows in later seasons as he grapples with shifting definitions of justice and loyalty.

Talent for showing subtle shifts in perspective as Cody’s worldview is challenged
Ability to balance professional command with personal vulnerability
Character Inspiration: Cody is the kind of man who speaks with purpose and listens with intent. He’s not easily swayed, but when he changes his mind, it means something. His strength lies not just in his training, but in his loyalty—to the law, to his city, and most of all, to his family.
This is a supporting role with limited presence in Season One but significant expansion in future arcs, especially as the vigilante movement collides with official law enforcement.
[AUTHORATIVE] Were there any other people left inside?
[IRKED] That knuckle-head... That’s my brother...
[MAKING AN ARREST] You’re not getting away this time, Striker. We’ve been trying to pin your slithery hide down for a while.
CHARLIE CHASE (Female, 15–18) – A Minor Supporting Character in Season One, the spirited younger sister of Adam and Cody. Quick-witted, endlessly curious, and never one to miss a chance to tease her older brothers.
Character Overview: Charlie is a high school student with a sharp tongue and a heart of gold. She helps run the family-owned Brewers' Café, the unofficial meeting spot for the Vigilantes and their allies. Though her role in Season One is limited, Charlie’s presence adds warmth, humor, and a sense of grounded normalcy to the story. You guys better like these! I just finished making them before you all got here!
Didn't say why, just ordered and asked me to bring it to you.
