VHS Dubs: DELTARUNE Chapter ONE
Project Overview
Hello everyone!
VHS Dubs is working on a collaborative playthrough of Deltarune! Join us and the community in bringing our choices to life, complete with original backgrounds and art assets made by our wonderful artists!
We are looking for talent to help us bring the characters of chapter one to life! Once we have finished that, we will be casting for chapter two, then three, and so on!

IMPORTANT NOTES
Must be 18+ to audition.
Must have a good quality mic with minimal background noise.
Must have played/watched a playthrough of Deltarune and know the characters (NPC EXCLUDED, anyone can audition for those!)
Must understand that this is a long term project and, depending on the given role, this project might take a few years to complete, especially since Deltarune isn't completed, yet.
Characters (FOR CHAPTER ONE) not listed here have already been cast off site.
-Significant- means that if you get cast for this role, you cannot audition for any other significant roles in the future.
-Reoccuring- means that this character will appear in (almost) every chapter and thus you are applying for a long term project.
HOW TO AUDITION
Record the lines provided in an AA - BB - CC format.
Include your DISCORD and whether or not you're okay with possibly being cast for a role you DIDN'T audition for.
DO NOT edit any of your audio. It must be RAW audio and in .wav or .mp3 format.

We are looking for artists to help our existing team of artists with backgrounds.
Examples of what we are looking for can be found on our Twitter/X.
Your art style does NOT have to match the examples. We want the backgrounds to be cohesive, yes, but also diverse in style.

The voice is often speculated to actually be W. D. Gaster and I like that theory so that is what we are going with.
The voice is who we meet upon entering the game. It instructs us to make a "vessel".
We don't know that much more about it, so beyond the popular theory of it being Gaster, I am pretty open to different voices.

Noelle is a teenager in Hometown. She is often seen to be shy around most people, except Kris. She is nerdy and a bit awkward at times.
During SNOWGRAVE she is a lot more confident and I will require you to be more passionate and frantic than her usual self.
I am NOT looking for an anime girl voice. Her voice, to me, isn't all that high either. Feminine most of the time and a bit deeper when talking to Kris or her dad.
Reference: Opal (Aimee Carrero) from Exandria Unlimited or Adora (She-Ra) but more feminine.

Susie is an aggressive bully-type teenage character that almost immediately drops this facade and shows that she is actually very kind. She is quirky and has weird ideas. Often seen to be sarcastic and she is easily agitated.
Her voice should be a bit deeper and more masculine. I require you to be able to get aggressive and louder.

Alphys is an insanely awkward teacher in Hometown. She is scared of Susie and doesn't seem to have much confidence or control over her students. She is incredibly nerdy and into anime.
I would like her voice to be nasal, nerdy, and androgynous. Accents are welcome and encouraged.

Voice Actor
Toriel is Kris' and Asriels' mom. She is also a teacher in Hometown and ex-wife to Asgore. She has a warm motherly personality and is kind and welcoming. She has a funny side to her and loves puns and making jokes.
I imagine her voice to be deeper and warm, though her laugh to be a bit annoying (saying that in a loving way).
Kind of a mix between Sarabi (The Lion King) and Little Foot's Mother (Land before time).

Nerdly is a teenage student in Hometown, works at the librarby, and has no friends besides sometimes Noelle- who is only really his friend out of pity. He is a sarcastic and overly animated boy with a big fake ego. He likes to write poetry and I think he would be a theatre kid and he does speak like it.
I imagine his voice to be very animated, nerdy, and a bit raspy seeing as he is a bird. Voice cracks are HIGHLY encouraged please do not edit them out, should they happen LOL.

((SNOWGRAVE, confused, confident)) N-Noelle? // N.. Noelle, it's me, don't you recognize me!? // Th-that's it, Kris! I don't know what you're doing... // but if you're hurting my friend Noelle... then I have no choice but to stop you by force.

Ralsei is one of the main protagonists of this series and has a LOT of lines.
He is a very cheery and motivating character, aiding our other heroes in their quests. There is an air of mystery surrounding him, seeing as he seems to know more than he lets on.
He starts developing more of a rounded personality after chapter 4.
I imagine his voice to be a lot more feminine and higher pitched. I have no direct reference for him, so feel free to experiment!

It's Sans.
Deep voice, nonchalant, a bit bored sounding.

Asgore is THE divorced Dad. He has a lot of love for his family, his ex-wife included. He loves his kids, Asriel and Kris, a LOT. Asgore runs the flower shop in town that becomes relevant in chapter 5.
I imagine him to sound like a.. well. A man with a big bear gut. Deep, comforting, warm. Accents are fully welcome.

Rudy is Noelle's Dad and Carols' husband. He is currently sick in the hospital and is visited often by his daughter. He is lighthearted and personable, cracking jokes and being silly despite being (presumed) terminally sick.
I imagine his voice to sound like he smokes ten packs a day. Accents are welcome and ecouraged.

He's a typical Jock/frat bro and talks like one. He seems to be chill with Kris despite not being close friends.
I imagine his voice to be deeper and, as I said, he speaks like a frat bro.
Capitalized words are enunciated, commas are actual speaking breaks.

Monster Kid is a nonbinary teenage student. Kris would've been their first choice for being partners on the school project, so it's safe to assume that they have at least a friends-in-school kind of relation.
They speak with a hint of insecurity and laugh a lot (likely nervously).

Snowy is a teenage student. He is very insecure and has a very fragile ego and thinks he is utterly hilarious. He also seems to be racist toward humans.|

Lancer is a major NPC from the dark world. His light world form is the Jack of Spades. He is silly, naive, and very cute.
I imagine him to sound like a kid who is perpetually snotty.

King is the evil father of Lancer and main Boss of Chapter one.
I imagine his voice to be deep and gravelly.

Jevil is the secret boss of chapter one. He's locked away in a weird dungeon that we as the players open. He is eccentric and insane, was the former court jester. It is theorized that W. D. Gaster corrupted him in some way, which is why he was locked away.
Jevil is one of the few DELTARUNE characters that actually has voicelines in game. We would like to have the voice as close as possible to those.

Undyne is a reoccuring character from Undertale. In Deltarune, she is a cop- and a lousy one at that.
She speaks very passionately and loudly.

Gerson is an important character in chapter 4, that has a few lines in chapter 1, which is why he is being cast already.
Gerson is an old man that acts like a mentor for Susie in chapter four. He is silly and ragebaits us multiple times and has a unique laugh. It is theorized that he mentored Undyne before he died.
The only reference I have is his laugh, so I'd like your voice to fit that.
Otherwise, Hop Pop from Amphibia is the closest I can find.

Father Alvin is the pastor/priest (idk????) speaker of the sermons in Hometown. He is the son of Gerson Boom and seems to be very proper and very polite.
I have no reference for his voice but a southern accent is REQUIRED.
