VeggieTales: Fehlende Szenen (deutsche Fan-Synchronisationen)/VeggieTales: Missing scenes (German fandubs)

Project Overview

(English/Englisch)

The purpose of this will be to fandub scenes that were cut from the German dubs of these episodes of the American Christian computer animated series VeggieTales:


  • Sumo of the Opera


  • Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Samson's Hairbrush


  • Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler


  • LarryBoy and the Bad Apple





The idea for this came up after seeing how Ramon Mourão (a Brazilian fan of the franchise/series) had plans to fandub the countertop segments for Larry-Boy! & the Fib from Outer Space! and mix it with the episode's Brazilian Portuguese Audio News dub.


Here's what will be dubbed:



  • Sumo of the Opera



    • The countertop segments


    • Archibald explaining the definitions of "silk screen" and "haiku"



    • A Joking Sumo I


      • The scene where Mikey (Pa Grape) tells the Italian Scallion (Larry the Cucumber) to sit on a whoopee cushion




    • This line after Apollo says a haiku:


      • Jim Gourdly: Closer. This champ's only off by two syllables.




    • The first part of He's Accepted the Challenge



      • This bit of dialogue after said song:



        • Mikey: Kid, why are you doing this?


        • Italian Scallion: I owe it to Po, and I need that bike! I owe that to Hadrian.






    • Part of Mikey's line when he's talking to Italian Scallion after the former shows a picture of Alexander the Grape:


      • Mikey: …, sometimes there's a good reason to stop and quit, but not just because it's too hard. God asks us to do lots of things that are hard, but they're good things, and they make us better people.






  • Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Samson's Hairbrush

Note that only the scenes themselves will be posted on my YouTube channel, while I upload uncut fan-edits of the episodes on Google Drive or on MEGA.

There are two things I need to point out regarding auditions: 

1. You must have a decent quality mic. 

2. Joke auditions will be rejected.

Die Idee kam mir, nachdem ich gesehen hatte, wie Ramon Mourão (ein brasilianischer Fan der Franchise/Serie) plante, die Arbeitsplattensegmente für „Larry-Boy! & the Fib from Outer Space!“ zu synchroniseiren und mische es mit dem 1. brasilianischen Synchro der Folge.

Ihr solltet beachten, dass nur die getrennten Szenen auf meinem YouTube-Kanal gepostet werden, während ungeschnittene Fan-Edits der Episoden auf Google Drive oder auf MEGA hochgeladen werden.

Für diejenigen, die vorsprechen möchten, habe ich zwei Dinge zu sagen:

1. Sie müssen ein Mikrofon von anständiger Qualität haben.

2. Scherzvorsprechen werden abgelehnt.

    I have casted lyrokun as Archibald Asparagus! However, I am still seeking better auditions for Bob, Larry, Lutfi, and Pa Grape, to get them more accurate to the actual German voices (no offense to lyrokun and Ike12stones). I am also hoping to get auditions for Jimmy and the South Dakota song singer.

Bob is a tomato. He serves as one of the hosts of VeggieTales and is also the companion of Larry the Cucumber. He tends to get annoyed when things don't go the way he plans them. When doing Bob's voice, try doing an impression of Marek Erhardt's Bob voice.

Lutfi is a sock puppet portrayed by Khalil (a caterpillar). He first appeared in Sumo of the Opera, filling in for Larry while he was away helping kids at a toy drive. When doing Lutfi's voice, try doing an impression of Monty Arnold's Lutfi voice (which can be heard in the German dub of "The Story of St. Patrick").

He appears in one scene from Sumo of the Opera that we will be dubbing, where he played a reporter named Jim Gourdly. When doing Jimmy's voice, try doing an impression of Tetje Mierendorf's Jimmy voice.

Pa Grape is an elderly grape who is shown to be the father of Tom and Rosie Grape and the husband of Ma Grape. He has a Yiddish accent, and is very wise and down-to-earth. He appears in three scenes from Sumo of the Opera that we will be dubbing, where he played Mikey. When doing Pa Grape's voice, try doing an impression of Konrad Halver's Pa Grape voice.
