Virtual Doll is out for viewing!
(REQUIRES VTUBE STUDIO. SINGING SKILLS ARE A MUST. VTUBING EXPERIENCE PREFERRED.)
"When the opportunity arises, an aspiring vtuber, Hailee, takes the chance to audition for Virtual Doll, an up-and-coming virtual idol corporation, not knowing the tribulations that awaits her if she succeeds."
Virtual Doll is a conceptual short film centered around the medium of vtubing about Hailee, an underprivileged, but passionate young woman with a natural talent for singing, who aspires to join Virtual Doll, her favorite vtuber corporation. The short is about her being interviewed by two representatives for her audition. Screenplay is 8 - 9 pages long.
The role of Hailee will lean on prior vtubing experience and a good skill for singing. The others are strictly voice-only.

For landing Hailee and Interviewer #2 respectively. I aim to get production under way this coming December!
The beginning of casting has begun. I have given the audition period a lengthy time span for the sake of getting as many voices as possible, as well as time to further develop behind the scenes.
The main character of Virtual Doll. A small-time vtuber aspiring to join the 'Virtual Doll' vtuber idol corporation. Comes from a downtrodden background. Is mostly an unremarkable person, but passionate in entertaining others and has an ace up her sleeve: An unmistakable talent for singing.
Role requires the following skills/mandates:
Hello, um, well, my name is Hailee and I’m auditioning to join the third generation of Virtual Doll’s idol division. I’m a huge fan and, well, I figured that nothing ventured is nothing gained... at least that’s how the saying goes...
(SINGING NEW ORDER'S 'BLUE MONDAY'): How does it feel? To treat me like you do? When you laid your hands upon me, and showed me who you are? I thought I was mistaken. I thought I heard your words. Tell me how do I feel? Tell me now how do I feel.
I don’t live anywhere nice. Crime. Homelessness. Mental illness. There’s suffering at every corner of where I live, where I go to school, where I exist in any way. I’m always reminded of how life can just kick your legs clean off, putting you on the ground and leave you defenseless for a beating you may not be able to avoid! But when you’re a vtuber, once you load your model and go live? You can be whoever you want to be! There’s something magical in that somehow; to give those the illusion of a fantasy within reach.
The 2nd of two interviewers for Hailee. They represent and audition aspiring talent for Virtual Doll, a vtuber corporation.
The 2nd interviewer is meant to be female. I will play Interviewer #1 myself. Personality is darker, professional, more skeptical, doesn't believe Hailee to have what it takes to join. I want someone who sounds more mature.
Supporting role. Voice only. Never seen.
(Correcting Hailee after she says Blue Monday is from the '70s.) Eighties. Blue Monday is from the eighties.
As you may know, Virtual Doll stands amongst a competition of virtual idol groups. Hololive, Nijisanji, Phase Connect, and that’s not even to mention the countless independent talents out in the wild.
Passionate, I’ll give her that. But naive. Absolutely naive. And what was up with the whole sob story about life? Like she would even know! Can you even believe all that?
