About the Project

Urban City is an original animated series created by Shamar Jose White, inspired by the raw energy and visual style of MTV’s Downtown. The series captures the rhythm, struggles, and beauty of everyday city life — blending stylized animation, authentic voices, and relatable stories from an urban perspective.

The show combines realistic dialogue, diverse characters, and an expressive visual tone — aiming to represent real people, emotions, and creativity that thrive within city environments. The vision is to make something fresh, character-driven, and grounded in culture — with a strong sense of style and identity.

Current Goal

Right now, the focus is on producing a high-quality animated trailer (1–2 minutes) to showcase the look, tone, and atmosphere of Urban City. This trailer will serve as both a proof of concept and a presentation piece for production companies, investors, and animation grants.

The trailer will set the foundation for full production — meaning everyone involved now will be credited collaborators and first in line for paid contracts once the project is officially funded and under agreement.

Compensation Details

At this early stage, the project is unpaid, as it is still in independent development. However, this is a long-term collaboration with a clear plan for payment after funding and contract finalization.

All confirmed collaborators will:

• Receive full creative credit on the trailer and series materials

• Be first considered for paid positions once production funding is secured

• Be eligible for profit participation and potential revenue share after contracts are finalized

The project has realistic goals for formal contracts and funding within the coming year, and the trailer is a crucial step toward that.

Team Roles Needed

• Create ambient urban soundscapes (city noise, movement, music blends)

• Sync and mix character voices and effects for cinematic sound balance

• Add atmosphere and rhythm that enhances animation timing

Voice Actors

• Natural, expressive performances that feel real and grounded

• Strong emotional range — representing diverse city voices and personalities

• Ability to record clean audio from a home or professional setup
