Upper Class/Lower Class Season 1

The guys responsible for scripting these episodes. Seeing as this is essentially a combination of Seniors and C-Students, the role of writer will come with the need to make a convincing plot or two or three for every episode, with equal measures of comedy, drama and teenage angst. Also you gotta be writing in screenplay format. Should anyone fit that role, you're welcome to give auditioning this role a try.

We sorta need guys to re-sketch out the characters, since a character artist isn't exactly something we have in the cards at the moment. In particular, we could use someone who actually knows the style AnimatedJames and his contemporaries used at the time, and can apply to potential redesigns. However, we do also want some originality, so perhap mix the style with your own and others to stand out if you want. Consider this your chance to sketch out your vision of what Seniors and C-Students should've looked like. If you have those skills, those of good sketching, solid stylization and intense flexibility, please don't hesitate to apply.

For this role, we need sort of a combination of animation talent, sketching skill, immense improvisational skill (can make stuff up on the fly), really good storytelling and an excellent sense of pacing and timing. Storyboarding is a vital part of any animated show, especially fast paced comedies, and this show has a lot of that. It'll also get dramatic and angsty, so sketching this stuff out beforehand allows way more room to work and grow on details.

Oh, and do not forget the structure of tying up multiple plots together in a package, in some sort of freaky structure.

Sketching in frames bit by bit and piece after piece and writing in a screenplay format are required absolutely.

The show needs a musical signature, sort of a melodic tone to go with the story. We'd be looking for somebody to give a variety of things to the show- A theme song to open with, segment jingles/song things, a soundtrack to go with each episode, and potentially a closing bit of music to end off things. In terms of tone and moods, we're looking for people skilled with stringed instruments like the guitar, horns and brass, and especially the piano. Gotta be quick to improvise too, not to mention rather well versed in the distinct styles of modern pop culture rhythm scaling (or in less flowery words, know which musicians to take notes from, pop stars and rock bands, plus perhaps comedic and dramatic film scores, with perhaps a slight emphasis on melodies taking inspiration from anime, CN cartoons, Adult Swim bumps and Guy Moon's gallery). If you have all of this, and a penchant for experimentation, plus a willingness to be bothered a bit for more than regular updates, then consider dropping in and auditioning for this role. Please.

This role is basically needed to bring together the whole operation. For the show to come to life, animation is required.

To deal with frames mainly- characters, special effects, in-between stuff, clean-up guys and key stuff.

All the stuff needed to build together an animation sequence, the core building block of a webtoon show.

Anyone familiar with the art styles and movement takes of Butch Hartman, Seth McFarlane and the CalArts school as a whole? Good. Are you good with Adobe Animate, Krita, Toonboom or any of those fancy softwares? Got a tablet or drawing board lying around? You've ever read into animation techniques from people like Richard Williams, Don Bluth or any of the people who worked for WB back in the day? Can you improvise? Are you good with stretches? What's your frame specialty? 

Lot of questions here, but if you fit into at least two of those, then consider giving us a tumble. We'll take anyone who applies if we're being completely honest.

For backgrounds, items, details and such, we need an art director.

Can you do art? You good at it? Skills all there? Are landscapes, buildings and houses your type of thing?

Then go ahead. Audition. 

We also need a guy to help with the tracks of the audio that the show will use, in editing them, adding effects to them for comedic, dramatic or whatever other effect is needed, reworking them, sanding down and polishing them up for proper use in the videos, and general work on whatever sound business is needed to be handled with.

Someone who can build up and work out and polish everything, animation and audio and all that stuff, into a real video.

You talented with any of the major editing softwares (Vegas, Premiere, Resolve, Final Cut)? You know any crazy editing tricks? Did you use to or still do YTPs? Can you make a really good story out of some well placed clips? Is it your field of choice?

Audition then. 

One of the seven lead roles of the Seniors gang- the Twilight Sparkle of the group. A real Ted Moseby type, if you will. The straightman. Creative, easily stressed, has repressed anger, is rather quite friendly, non-athletic and lovesick. This character's voice is sort of a medium low voice, relaxed, outgoing, somewhat chill, and hiding a heavily repressed brash anger. Natural-ish voice. Sounds sorta slightly deep, calm and utterly exhausted. Think like Chris from Everybody Hates Chris mixed with Freddie from iCarly and a little dash of Troy from Community.

He's Britain's answer to both Barney Stinson and Johnny Bravo. He's confident, to a narcissistic degree. 

He's dirty minded, and holds a dim brain.

His voice is energetic, with a slight bit of Austin Powers like camp, mixed with a James Bond like smoothness, and a hint of Beatle-esque cheeky wonder. Quite the cocky guy.

Very much a medium low voice, a bit high but controlled. Southern British, sorta like some American characterizations and overexaggerations of the accent, but with a bit more RP BBC London in there to make it sound a bit better off.

So in other words, well off but far from posh- sounds a bit like David Tennant and Matt Smith's Doctors, with a little mix of a few notable British straightmen characters.

He's got a pretty sunny outlook on life, and a bit of a funny personality with his comedic senses making him very much a joker at heart.

He is enthusiastic, obnoxiously persistent to the point of annoyance, and unbelievably amiable (so extraordinarily friendly).

Equal bits likable, odd and outgoing, his confidently driven energy combines all of this together into a rather strange little package.

Something of a cross between Josh from Drake and Josh, Fozzie Bear and a bit of Chris Tucker from Rush Hour, in that he's funny, awkward and rather hard to dislike since he comes off as I guess sweet. And also like Niles from Frasier and Cliff from Cheers, since he's both a bit of a know it all and a bit of a sensitive type.

He's also a funny type, Seinfeld-like, and a Jewish guy, born and raised. 

Here comes the wild card. Bitter, apathetic, quiet and subdued. He is incredibly anti-social, it seems.

Irritable, detached as hell by choice, and aggressively unwilling to do much, something that is quite calculated by decision.

He is tired and does not care enough about anyone or anything to bother. Pessimistic and a little nihilistic.

He's a bit like Ferb from Phineas and Ferb in that he is quiet and subdued. Also a bit like Jackie Chan in Rush Hour, because he's usually the serious one.

Voice is a bit of a mixture between equal parts Garfield and Daria, with a hint of Raven from the Teen Titans

Sweet as pie, shy as Princess Di and carrying something of a double personality.

Submissive at times to others, innocent-ish, quiet, and the nicest person at times.

Gentle, timid and all around willing to compromise. A real cinnamon bun of a person.

But then there's the other side of her. Well contained, it is vibrant and powerful and all around, angry.

Alongside anger, there are other bits here and there. 

Pride, determination, inadequacy and with a sort of actively soft energy that makes it all work.

She is a cinnamon bun with a lot of spice, in other words.

Sorta Fluttershy-ish.

She's spoiled rotten, not to mention quite rather filthy rich. She's been blessed with good looks. She's also the worst person about. A stubborn, impulsive, quite bossy and controlling person, she also suffers from being a bit naive- like occasionally a real dumb blonde, but not too much of one- playful, selfish and a dominating presence in a room.

In other words, take the dumb blonde, mix it with a spoiled heir and add a bit of scheming henchman here and there, and you got Crystal in a nutshell.

A rebel. Huge tomboy. Rockstar type, lives life to the fullest. Music is her raison d'etre (reason to be). Passionate about it to bits. Musician, talented and aspiring and hungry. Confident, assertive, impulsive to the point of being trigger-happy, is looking for attention and is quite desperate for what she thinks she may want, all leading her to work towards it, whether it be to triumph or disaster.

A little shady, somewhat mystic with her spirit, has a quick temper, sometimes doubtful but mostly determined, and a complete loose cannon, the girl is a great big situation waiting to happen, with plans that only prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

She is the oddball that grabs eyes. As for a voice, think Ember McLain from Danny Phantom meets Jade from Victorious.

Upbeat, friendly, insecure, impatient and utterly likable- The textbook of a goodie two shoes.

Polite as hell, emotional at times and a struggling person, not to mention a bit of a creative type.

If I could describe her character- Think like Bubbles from the Powerpuff Girls, Tori from Victorious and a pinch of like Mary from the Mary Tyler Moore Show. So in other words, just really nice.

Cynical, sarcastic, quick tempered, and sensitive.

Your average straightman, with just a dash of heat.

A little vanilla, he is both kind and harsh in equal measures.

Yeah, that's all I got.

A ditzy dork who can come off as a bit of a pompous douchebag to disguise his good side to look better to people-

Very much a smartass- witty, care-free, optimistic, a bit dense and a bit unintelligent, and very much an accident-prone guy.

A bit of a comedian, and another Brit. A slacker, and a bit of a freakshow if we're led to believe half the stuff he says.

Part lonely, part emo, and quite vulnerable.

More jaded and with a distinctly disconnected vibe as opposed to apathetic, she very much prefers sinking in to her music than dealing with people most of the time.

She can be standoff-ish, a bit distant and very much prone to frustration.

She's also a bit nice, a bit wise and a little bit calm as opposed to say, like August and Kevin, for what it's worth.

That, and she's somewhat passionate about the people around her.

Shallow, rude, judgmental and cunning- all in all, she's just interesting.

Has a superiority complex, is a huge snob, and very much fits the valley girl stereotype to a T.

She's smart, vain, a bit of a control freak and has...quite a few problems to put it mildly.

So yeah, she's a bit of a nightmare. Like imagine Brit and Tiff from MLAATR mixed with like....Paulina and Star from Danny Phantom, plus Heather Chandler from Heathers in a blender, and you got Scarlett.

To define him simply- an actual douchebag.

A pretentious asshole, who happens to be disruptive and insulting, to raise himself up at the expense of others-

Poor luck, street-smart, a creative rebel and one hell of a wit.

He is the under-achiever, who's a bit too smart for that to be the case completely.

Twin brothers-  the over-achievers. Quite smart, very kind, immensely friendly, they are the counter to like half their friend group in terms of dispositions.

Comedic types too- Funny jokers who like pulling their pranks.

They'll never leave each other's side, so they're quite commonly paired together. Think Mas y Menos from the original Teen Titans, but funnier and smarter.

A bit spineless, but kind nonetheless.

Submissive and cowardly, but trying to be a good person.

And if we're led to believe anything, if her and Scarlett's two other friends are based on the Cutie Mark Crusaders from MLP:FiM, then- Naive, hasty, innocent-ish, positive and with a bit of hidden anger in there.

Oh, and a bit mischievious. And a bit rash. And a little vanity focused.

Also spineless, but a bit more so- 

Still a good person, somewhat.

Again, if the CMC theory is to be believed, we do have an idea for what her personality would look like-

Energetic, brash, tomboy-ish behind the scenes but prim and sorta organized otherwise, with quite a spunky streak to the point of being too brave and too spirited, but also skittish, self conscious and incredibly superstitious-

Her calm keeps a good portion of this together, and she does come off as semi-aware of what she's supposed to be, with the in crowd and tapped into like the alt bits of pop culture, but she does let loose and allow herself to slip in a bit more at times.

Oh, and she's nice, but her energy makes it come off like she's overexcited.

Again- spineless but probably the least spineless in terms of her tone.

Good, sorta, but also a bit cunning, it seems.

Again, if we apply the CMC theory, then she may be a bit like this in terms of personality-

Smart, generous, courageous, and very much the eyes and brain of her group, the observant and cautious one.

She is also a prank mastermind, and a hell of a mechanical hand- She's a bit more tomboyish than the rest, but she still comes off as girly enough to fit.

She's alright. Basically just imagine Apple Bloom or Applejack for this role, and you've got it right on the head.

Jekyll and Hyde type. Calm and collected, on one half, batshit crazy on the other half, with swears and rants coming after every word- she is inherently crazy.

Someone who very much needs help.

The poorest soul around.

She's kind, semi-tolerant of the nonsense of her class but not quite completely respectful of them, hopeful, on the edge, and utterly humbled by her situation, very much a bit quiet when not screaming her voice out, and reflectful.

More from the Getting Noticed shorts, than anything else, but she'll fit into this cast somehow.

Level-headed, like unusually chill, reasonable and very much not quiet.

She is very much a funny person, equal bits sarcastic and witty.

Also she is definitely the most bold of the Seniors cast, very much the brave one and the strong one.

She's very much Debbie's counterpart, in that she shadows some of her details.

Pretty, falls a bit more into the dumb blonde category, is more often than not, the empathetic and emotionally intelligent one in the room. Sweet as hell, occasionally gullible and very much the perfect person when it comes to both good insults and better revenge plots.

She's like really peppy and sunny, rather sporty, quite chatty, is generally hopeful and very much the brightest bulb between herself and Debbie when it comes to optimism.

She's very much a cheeky one, if we're led to believe, based off what we know about Crystal.

Only seen in the comics, she can be best described as a cheeky, gossipy, overinterested type.

She's rather confident, often sometimes more than her friend. She's a fast thinking, shifty-eyed, lunatic at times with plans. She's spirited, somewhat both chill and energetic, with mischief and fun in her eyes. She's very much a friendly type, but not a pushover, as she does very much have a way of cutting down anyone quickly and with a precise tone, making her a wild card of a person as she flips from amiable to critical and nasty.

She is very much a plotting type, a people pleaser and a selfish type- but she's also very much loyal and faithful.

She's troublesome, and has a view of the world that's a bit jaded, a bit hopeful and a bit twisted up.

She's a different type of girl. For this voice, sorta think Valerie Grey and Ember McLain from Danny Phantom mixed with Tiff Crust from MLAATR.

He's the nerdy type, a real geek.

Timid, shy, nervous, all that usual stereotypical stuff.

There's also clearly courage with the guy.

He is very much a runner, not a quitter.

So think Leonard or Howard from the Big Bang Theory, mixed with like Tucker, Sidney and Mikey from Danny Phantom.

Yeah, that's his character.

Gruff, relaxingly calm, and the most wise in the bar.

He is friendly-ish, dutiful, a wise-ass joker and has a good eye for problems.

Mainly works the bar, but also does work at the local cafe on off days or strike days, and does DJing as a hobby.

So think Sam Malone from Cheers meets Penny from the Big Bang Theory.

Sorta scratchy, sorta gruff, somewhat smooth voice for this one. A bit smoky too.

The other teacher of the show, and the only one borrowed and taken from a show that isn't Seniors or C-Students!

Miss Joy is kinda like Miss DeLite, minus the Jekyll and Hyde type conflict. She is just angry and on edge all the time.

She has different levels to her anger though- The understandable level to start off with, the extremely irritated type with yelling in mind, the scary type where her voice stays where it is and it's closer to mumbling or a quiet talking down to and the straight ready to go crazy type.

She's also tired and exhausted, decently disappointed, respectful of her students despite her regular anger at them, a bit of a peace-loving hippie from her college days, and very much a substance user (alcohol and a bit of weed), not to mention a lethargic presence on occasion. She is mildly happy at times, a bit kind on occasion and even patient on the rare times it comes to her. But not by much.
