Undertale: The Determination Fandub
Project Overview
What is this?
This is going to be a fanmade dub of the popular video game, Undertale. If this does well, we'll do Deltarune as well. We will be doing our best to make the game feel somewhat grander and more cinematic.
For those of you unfamiliar with the premise: the story centers on a child who has fallen into the Underground: a large, secluded region under the surface of the Earth, separated by a magical barrier. The player meets various monsters during the journey back to the surface, although some monsters might engage the player in a fight. They can opt to pacify or subdue monsters to spare them instead of killing them. These choices affect the game, with the dialogue, characters, and story changing based on outcomes.
Requirements:
1. Please make sure your microphone is capable of recording your voice without picking up overwhelming background noises or excessive peaking/clipping.
2. You must have a Discord account, as the project will be going into production over there.
3. Your voice files must be sent in a .wav format, though if it ends up too big, .mp3 files will do as an alternative.
4. You need to have a very clear idea of both the franchise and the character you're auditioning for.
5. Feel free to improvise with your lines.

Initially, Flowey operates under a facade of friendliness and politeness. In reality, Flowey has a malevolent and cruel disposition, with the philosophy of "kill or be killed". He is manipulative, devious, a cunning planner, and subtle if the circumstances require it. He retains his memories between SAVEs because he used to be able to SAVE himself. The main reason for Flowey's spiteful and maniacal behavior is his physical inability to care for people. As a soulless flower, he is neither human nor a monster. Because he has no soul, he is unable to feel compassion, love, or any purely positive emotion towards people, and can only seek enjoyment from an intricate and disturbing curiosity that stems from his ability to "reshape the world" by his determination.

Clever. Verrrryyy clever. You think you're really smart, don't you? In this world kill or be killed. So you were able to play by your own rules. You spared the life of a single person. Hehehe I bet you feel really great. You didn't kill anybody this time. But what will you do if you meet a relentless killer? You'll die and you'll die and you'll die. Until you tire of trying. What will you do then? Will you kill out of frustration? Or will you give up entirely on this world...and let ME inherit the power to control it? I am the prince of this world's future. Howdy! It's me, Flowey. Flowey the Flower! I owe you a HUGE thanks. You really did a number on that old fool. Without you, I NEVER could have gotten past him. But now, with YOUR help... He's DEAD. And I'VE got the human SOULS! (Laughs) Boy! I've been empty for so long... It feels great to have a SOUL inside me again. Mmmm, I can feel them wriggling... Awww, you're feeling left out, aren't you? Toriel is a kind monster that acts as a protective mother figure for Frisk. She employs tough love on them as well as Asgore. She cares for children and was excited to become a mother. She enjoys cooking and baking butterscotch-cinnamon pie as well as her favorite, snail pie. Toriel has a playful side, as shown by her love of puns and bad jokes, and she even keeps a journal of puns. Toriel is quite intelligent and dreams of becoming a teacher.

What a terrible creature, torturing such a poor, innocent youth... Ah, do not be afraid, my child. I am Toriel, caretaker of the Ruins. I pass through this place every day to see if anyone has fallen down. You are the first human to come here in a long time. I will do my best to ensure your protection during your time here. Come! I will guide you through the catacombs.
[Going to destroy the door, Serious]
I have seen it again and again. They come. They leave. They die. You naive child... If you leave the Ruins... They... ASGORE... Will kill you. I am only protecting you, do you understand? ...go to your room.
[Trying to convince Frisk to stay, Emotional]
I know you want to go home, but... But please... go upstairs now. I promise I will take good care of you here. I know we do not have much, but... We can have a good life here. Why are you making this so difficult? Please, go upstairs. (Pauses and lets out a sigh, fighting back tears) Haha... Pathetic, is it not? I cannot save even a single child.
Sans is the brother of Papyrus and is a sentry guard in Snowdin. Sans is laid back and flippant, often sleeping on the job and taking breaks. His laziness is a combination of fatalism and apathy. He wonders if his indolence stems from his knowledge that any progress he makes will be erased when the timeline resets. Sans is implied to be working harder despite not denying his laziness upon being called out on it. This is because while Sans is apathetic towards life, he is never apathetic towards the people he cares about. Though Sans is usually agreeable, he becomes eerily serious at particular moments. He is also observant; Sans reads the protagonist's expressions and can often tell when they have already done certain tasks. He enjoys making various strange jokes that tend to involve pranks and things that just mess with people's heads. He enjoys science fiction and loves to drink ketchup. He also hates making promises.

It's a beautiful day outside. Birds are singing, flowers are blooming... On days like these, kids like you... Should be burning in hell.
Papyrus is the brother of Sans. His main motive is to capture a human so he can become a member of the Royal Guard, and finally have friends and popularity. Papyrus is a flamboyant skeleton who presents a confident, charismatic image of himself. He works hard and, despite his brash personality, is kind at heart. He is optimistic, brave, and considerate. He is also occasionally oblivious and nonobservant but can be cunning at times. Papyrus believes in others just as much as he believes in himself. He cooks spaghetti from time to time, though many monsters seem to think that he is not very good at it. One of the reasons for this is because Papyrus never ate spaghetti himself to complete the chef's guidebook to cooking by tasting their creation before serving. He, therefore, cooks spaghetti only because everyone else loves to eat it, indicating he does not play favorites. He loves puzzles and japes. Though advanced puzzles may seem cerebral, Papyrus also enjoys children's books and is somewhat childish with the decoration of his room. He also collects action figures.

Undyne is a fish-like monster that is the head of the Royal Guard. Undyne is passionate about everything that she does. She acts quickly on her ideas and is steadfast in her beliefs. She loves to help others and mentors Shyren and Papyrus in various skills. Undyne dislikes puzzles, loves japes, and enjoys anime, an affinity she shares with her love interest, Alphys. Since Alphys told Undyne that anime is human history, Undyne regards human history as exciting and cool.

YOU! You're standing in the way of everybody's hopes and dreams! Alphys's history books made me think humans were cool... with their giant robots and flowery swordswomen. BUT YOU? You're just a coward! Hiding behind that kid so you could run away from me again! And let's not forget your wimpy goody-two- shoes-schtick! Oooh! I'm making such a difference by hugging random strangers! You know what would be more valuable to everyone? IF YOU WERE DEAD!!! That's right, human! Your continued existence is a crime! At first, I hated your stupid saccharine schtick, but... The way you hit me right now, it... Reminded me of someone I used to train with. Now I know you aren't just some wimpy loser. You're a wimpy loser with a big heart! Just like him... Listen, human. It seems that you and Asgore are fated to fight. But knowing him... He probably doesn't want to. Talk to him. Alphys is a reptilian monster that lives in the lab in western Hotland. She is the incumbent Royal Scientist, a position she was awarded by Asgore after the disappearance of her predecessor. Alphys is a nerdy, shy recluse with a fondness for human anime and manga. She has crushes on multiple characters but struggles to communicate her feelings. Alphys is filled with guilt and insecurities about herself and her accomplishments. After she accidentally created the Amalgamates while experimenting with determination, she told nobody and became deeply depressed and remorseful.

H-h-hiya! I'm Dr. Alphys. I'm Asgore's royal scientist! B-b-but, ahhhh, I'm not one of the "bad guys"! Actually, since you stepped out of the Ruins, I've, um...been "observing" your journey through my console. Your fights... Your friendships... Everything! I was originally going to stop you, but... Watching someone on a screen really makes you root for them. S-so, ahhh, now I want to help you! Using my knowledge, I can easily guide you through Hotland! I know a way right to Asgore's castle, no problem! Well, actually, umm, there's just a tiny issue. A long time ago, I made a robot named Mettaton. Originally, I built him to be an entertainment robot. Uh, you know, like a robotic TV star or something. Anyway, recently I decided to make him more useful. You know, just some small practical adjustments. Like, um... Anti... anti-human combat features? Of c-course, when I saw you coming, I immediately decided... I have to remove those features! Unfortunately, I may have made a teensy mistake while doing so. And, um... Now he's an unstoppable killing machine with a thirst for human blood? Ehehehehe... Heh.

R-really!? It's so good! It's um, my favorite show! It's all about this human girl named Mew Mew who has cat ears! Which humans don't have! S-so she's all sensitive about them! But like... Eventually! She realizes that her ears don't matter! That her friends like her despite the ears! It's really moving! Whoops, spoilers Also, this sounds weird, but she has the power! To control the minds of anyone she kisses! She kisses people and controls them to fix her problems!! They don't remember anything after the kiss I mean!! BUT IF SHE MISSES THE KISS!!! THEN!! Then, uh, and, uh, also I mean, of course Eventually, she realizes that controlling people OKAY WELL I almost spoiled the whole show, but Uhhh, I think you'd really like it!!! We should watch it! Mettaton is a robot with a SOUL and was built by Alphys. Mettaton is a confident, charismatic, and charming TV host that loves drama, action, and violence. He lives for his ratings and adores performing. He shows a rather shallow appreciation for existence at times. He has a strong craving for attention and is very egotistical for the point of narcissism. However, despite his seemingly narcissistic personality, he deeply cares about the seemingly positive impact his show has had on the inhabitants of the Underground. He has also soft spots for several people, such as Alphys and Napstablook. He also has no hate or prejudice against humans despite knowing about the monsters' history with them.

Asgore Dreemurr is the ruler of the Underground and its denizens, monsters. He is the ex-husband of Toriel, father of Asriel Dreemurr, and adoptive father of Chara. Asgore is a kind monster that enjoys gardening, Golden Flower Tea, and Toriel's Butterscotch Pie. Like his son, he speaks in southern slang (most notably "howdy" and "golly"). Asgore lives in the past and wants nothing more than to see his wife and child again, even though they have been gone for a long time.

Monster Kid is a young monster who stops at nothing to see his idol, Undyne, in action. Monster Kid looks up to Undyne as a role model. He is an innocent monster who assumes an energetic attitude that pervades most of his actions. He seems to be a bit naive, as well as a bit clumsy, as he trips frequently.

I knew it! ...well, I know it now, I mean... Undyne told me, um, "stay away from that human." So, like, Ummm... I guess that makes us enemies or something. But I kinda stink at that, haha. Muffet is the leader of the spiders in the Underground. She runs a bake sale in Hotland, to raise funds to rescue the spiders trapped in the Ruins, as they cannot make it past Snowdin's cold weather. Muffet is a greedy, stingy, intimidating, and somehow hypocritical monster, although having a courteous and sweet way of speaking. Even so, she seems to have a quite malicious aspect on her personality whenever she is crossed, something that occasionally triggers her fight. She also tends to cite morbid or inappropriate things, such as commenting on someone's possible fate in being used to make food.

Napstablook is a melancholic ghost monster and musician/DJ who lives in Waterfall. Napstablook is a dour introvert with low self-esteem. Despite this, Napstablook is courteous to others and treats Frisk as a guest if they visit his house. He often employs self-deprecation and apologizes for any inconveniences to be polite.

Temmie is a species of monster in the Underground. They appear in Waterfall, as well as taking residence in Temmie Village. All Temmies share an erratic manner of speech, where they often exclude letters, mix lower and upper cases, make inconsistencies, etc.
