Ultimate Spider-Man Comic Dub - Looking for VAs!
Project Overview
What is this?
This is a fan comic dub of the Ultimate Spider-Man comics by Brian Michael Bendis from the year 2000! Ultimate Spider-Man is a modern reimagining of Spider-Man’s history and has inspired every adaptation since, like the movies, games, and shows!
We're looking for some voices for the dubs! If you want to know how the dubs will look, you can see the video linked with this post! There are more full dubs actively being worked on and coming out too. I’ve also done tons of shorter comic dubs on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram!
REQUIREMENTS
The only real requirement is just to have a microphone that doesn’t have bad background noise or clipping (if you’ve got a little background noise that’s okay, I can edit it out in Audacity).
This is an unpaid project but you’ll have credits at the end of the videos and in the descriptions!
Beast
Beast (Dr. Hank McCoy) is a founding member of the X-Men and a genius. Despite his brute like exterior, he’s very literate and eloquent.
He is present in a conversation between Professor X and Spider-Man about the morality of forcing someone onto the X-Men without them getting a say in it.
CONTEXT FOR THE LINE
Spider-Man: “And I’m saying, isn’t this guy going to get a shot at a normal life?”
Beast: “Define normal.”

Herman Schultz/The Shocker
A down on his luck criminal, Herman Schultz worked for a corporation called Roxxon. There he built his iconic shock gauntlets and decided to use them to rob banks after he was fired. His personality is basically just an angry New Yorker.
He appears in the opening scene of one of the issues, where he is taken out by Spider-Man and Kitty Pryde (issue 112). He’s also featured in an issue where he’s the main character and manages to kidnap Spider-Man (issue 122).
(He has 5 lines in issue 112, 60 lines in issue 122.)

I'm walking outta here!! So get out of my way!
Shang Chi was trained from birth to become a living weapon, he became the worlds greatest martial artist and renounced his father’s empire. Ever since, he’s been living in New York where he became good friends with Iron Fist.
Shang Chi is one of the heroes present among Spider-Man, Daredevil, Moon Knight, Dr Strange, and Iron Fist in a conversation on what to do about the crime boss, the Kingpin.
CONTEXT FOR THE AUDITION LINES
Daredevil: “Actually, I really liked Shang Chi’s idea. He tried to infiltrate the organization by auditioning to be his new assassin bodyguard. He’s been looking for weeks, feels naked without one.”
Shang Chi: “His fist, he calls it his fist. He’ll be looking for it now, I can’t try again.”
