Them. Is a (possibly short) audiobook series that follows a father and daughter through the apocalypse/alien invasion.
The book is narrated by an older, 16 year old version of Quinn the main character. Quinn is 13 years old, and beggining to notice the signs - anxious news reports, neighbours boarding up their windows, less kids turning up for school...
Until one afternoon, her father decides to take her on a camping trip, out in the middle of nowhere, far away from civilisation.
(The story is set in Australia)
The rest is obvious;
- Reasonably good quality mic, as this is probably going to be unpaid
- Dedication/get in lines on time
- At least some way I can contact you, preferably skype
- And please be patient, I'm still in the process of writing the series and at some point I may ask for your opinion etc etc. I also have other commitments to juggle as well, so please be understanding.
First of all- Thank you to all of those that have already auditioned! I am really surprized with the turnout etc.
Although, due to setbacks in writing/editing the script, I have extended the deadline to March. I will soon be adding characters and casting etc.

On this one, I want people to come up with a character voice that is ORIGINAL to be added to the story. I need a male that ranges from Teen to Young Adult. You can give him a name, just be aware that I might change it and I will develop his backstory from what I hear.

Jonathan is originally from Texas, so he has an American accent. I don't want an extreme redneck or cowboy, or anything like that. He has a deep, occaisionally gravelly voice that is soothing, especially when he's talking to his daughter - who he cares for deeply. Kind of like Joel from the Last Of Us (voice wise, not character wise)
Or you can surprise me (I am also open to him having an Australian accent).

Quinn is Australian, but has a very weak accent. I'm not looking for a bogan.
Her voice is sweet and soft with medium range. Remember, she is 13

Narrator Quinn narrates the story (as the name implies)
Narrator Quinn is 16 years old, with a slightly stronger tone in her voice. You could even add a slight (I mean very slight) roll on her voice. Her voice shouldn't be extremely different from Quinn. Remember, her character will be burdened maybe even a little nostalgic as she is looking back on all the things that lead up to now, where she is telling her story.
Quinn:
(confused) Why Dad?
(questioning) This isn't about what's going on in the news, is it?
but what about school?
Narrator Quinn:
A news report flashes over the screen. Pictures of crying mothers holding their children. Dead bodies in bags line the street. Buildings that were reduced to rubble. And blood. Lots of it.
This is the second time in a fortnight that this had happened. The first time, a small village in Venezuela. The second, Berlin, Germany. People were getting nervous, world leaders were meeting and scientists were theorising.
The drive is long, and Dad won’t listen to the radio - limiting us to only the 5 CD’s we have in the glove box. Two of which are Mariah Carey, the rest - some random country singers my Dad knows but I don’t.
Surprise me.
