The Trial of Megatron
Megatron has renounced the Decepticons and their ways and has offically joined the Autobots. However, there is the tiny problem of him being responsible for quite literally tearing the planet apart. A trial is started to find the best way to sentence the former world conqueror.
RequirementsAs an unpaid, fan dub of a comic book, I am not expecting perfect audio. This is a passion project for myself and those who want to perform these characters. However, I will be expecting a minimum of background noise while recording. Otherwise, just try to give the best performance you can.
There is no need to slate your auditions. You can do as many as three takes per line in standard ABCABC order.
Voice lines will be expected to be completed 2-3 weeks after talent has been cast. I'm willing to be lenient on that timescale so long as there is clear and substantial progress being made.
Vocal PerformanceNaturally, some of these characters are very well known. While being able to voice match some of their more well-known voice actors is a plus, IT IS NOT REQUIRED FOR YOU TO SOUND ONE-TO-ONE WITH ANY OF THEM. Do not feel intimidated because you don't sound exactly like Peter Cullen. Just do your best.
Final noteOnce cast, you will recieve two seperate documents: A script written up by me that should be easier to read off of as well as the comic panels themselves to give reference to character's emotional and physical reactions.
Communication will be primarily done through email, although Discord is certainly an okay option. If you are planning to use DIscord, please add your username to your audition.

Thank you to everyone so much for submitting some wonderful auditions so far, I've gotten so many excellent auditions. It's honestly going to be a little difficult to parse thorugh these because of how good they are.
Just so everyone is aware, if you are not assigned one of the named roles that are listed, I may reach out to you to provide for some of the more minor characters in the story. Only a few more weeks and auditions will be closing. Thanks again!
Autobots! Transform and roll out!
The people will get their trial. Deciding Megatron's fate in secret would only reinforce the suspicion that we operate outside of the law.
Megatron, the day before you took the stand, you asked Rodimus to pass me a Communicube. On it, you said you wanted your trial moved off world "for the sake of the spectators". You said that only Raskol Arena on Luna 2 was large enough to accommodate all the people you'd wronged. Except it was all a ruse, wasn't it?
Rodimus belives himself destine for greatness, and he does have some modicum of skill to back up that assertion. He's taken up a ship and a crew to find the Knights of Cybertron. Arrogant and rash, he nonetheless has a good spark beneath it all. Burried very, very deep beneath it. Maybe. If you squint. Despite all that, he often times feels crushed by the burden to lead those under his command to safety, riddled with anxiety that he masks with an air of carefreeness.
The Lost Light is refueled, the Quantum Engines are purring like a turbofox in heat, and Perceptor says he can use magic to get us back into the Galactic Rim in a single epic jump.
*quietly and under his breath* We stopped Tyrest, saved the Circle of Light, and broke the Matrix. *normally* There, 10 words.
Optimus has to watch what he says. I don't. You're going to die, Megatron-- and I'm sorry, but you deserve it. And you know you deserve it.
There is nothing more important to Ultra Mangus than the law. He believes that is the only thing keeping what little civilization Cybertron has left together. He's trying to keep it together, but the insanity of the Light Light has driven him to a near breaking point.
Your honor. Is it an abuse of process to request that the presiding judge intervene?
Strip away the posturing and Megatron's argument is simple: Luna 2 isn't Cybertron. Different laws apply. Forgotten laws, yes. Laws that should've been repealed ten million years ago, most definitely. But laws nonetheless.
I can't deal with that right now!
Cold. Calculating. Pragmatist. Prick. All words used to describe Prowl. There are no line he will not cross to achieve absolute Autobot victory. And if Optimus Prime never finds out? All the better. Unfortunately for him, the war is over, and he is unable to reconcile that the Decepticons are no longer his absolute enemy.
I defy anyone to stand next to Megatron and with a straight face say, "I think we should hear his side of the story." I say skip the crime and focus on the punishment. We have two options. Public execution, indefinite spark containment, or public execution.
Ignore the terrified Decepticon and read my lips: this needn't be a problem. All we have to do is move Megatron back to Cybertron and start over.
Megatron of Tarn... You stand accused of crimes against the species, such a term being used in the context of this trial to represent a range of offences.
Ratchet is old and he's just going to get older. He's found that Cybertron has no place for a wartime medic and has joined Rodimus on the quest to find the Knight of Cybertron, hoping that his talents will best be suited out there rather than on a planet that no longer wants his kind. He acts as a voice of reasons for Rodimus, though it's not necassarily one that gets through to him at all times.
We can't remove Megatron's spark without killing him -- his internal organs are shot. It's amazing he's still alive. Did I say amazing? I meant depressing.
*deflated* A new RodPod. Let joy be unconfined.
*disappointed* If I was Ultra Magnus, I'd be reminding you that accessing official voting records is very much against the law.
The two-faced second in command of the Decepticon army, Starscream has found himself as the freely elected (crazy, right?) leader of Cybertron. Long past his days of stabbing Megatron in the back, though still up for a little backstabing when the time calls for it, he has his eyes set on a quick and painful death of Megatron. Still as arrogant as ever.
Megatron has fallen! I, Starscream, am the new leader of the Decepticons!
Starscream. Lord Starscream, High Chancellor of the Refulgent Cybertronian Dynasty, Emperor Perpetua, and Defender of the Realm.
*terrified* Tell me you're not contemplating any outcome that involves Megatron not dying! This is your chance to be rid of him forever! If you keep handwringing, he'll slip through your fingers! I guarantee it!
There are many on Cybertron who are eager to know how the trial will unfold. Some are wishing for Megatron to be locked away froever. Some are hoping for death. A very select few are looking to break him out. The goal is to give every Cybertronian a unique voice.
Hooks for his hands and his feet! How does that even work?
For the first time since homecoming, the public are saying "Autobot" without "Regime" at the end. The word on the street is justice. If you can convince the average Cybertronian that you believe in the rule of law, you're halfway to winning back their trust.
