The Toxic Dream: King of Kings Volume 2 - An audio-cinematic sci-fi story
Project Overview
The Toxic Dream is, in essence, a four- part rock opera, or, more specifically, a sonic movie series. It is set to music, but is combined with cinematic scenery and dialogue!
It's the story about an elite group of commandos(the Black Angels) in service of the Highland Empire. Betrayed by one of their former comrades, the group- those that survived- were forced to hide in the outlands, until their commander, Hal "Joker" Kintus, brought them back together to form a rebellion.
That's where Volume 1 ended. Volume 2 picks up directly afterward, at the start of the Insurgency.
Among the cast are video game greats such as John Dick(Serious Sam), Andrew Noguera AND Mark Meer(Mass Effect). Most roles have been cast but I do have need of a few more.
This is an ongoing project, volumes 3 and 4 are being written right now.

WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR:
- decent mic with good sound isolation and pop filter. please PLEASE don't use a USB mic. You never want to use a microphone that's going to compress the signal before it even gets to the computer!

Managed to cast a perfect Bugsy!
Mister Harrison Bulman knocked it out of the park with his portrayal of "Bugsy" Fayne. Thanks, Harrison!
Name: Charles Fayne
Callsign: Bugsy
Rank: CSGT
- Born and raised in the empire’s farmlands in Haraya Province. Left largely alone in the First Imperial War, except for one major engagement toward the end, at Malecki Drough City, in the winter. Fighting ceased quickly because of supply issues on both sides. As such, much of the equipment was left behind.
- Witnessed the death of his wife and two kids in a mortar blast.
- served with the 42nd Highland Imperial Commandos, team 9(designation: Black Angels), for 9 years, with distinction.
- Serves as scout/ intelligence gatherer for Team 09.
- next to Joker, is the longest serving member of Team 09 and has fought alongside Joker in every major engagement since the Forge War.
- Got his callsign for his interest in insects
Charlie Fayne is a quiet man. Having lost his family during the winter battles in Haraya while he was away fighting in Su-chen, he’s since become very contemplative and serious. His quiet manner has served him well as the team scout, as he prefers to be alone. He sees Timberwolf as the reason his family is dead and is totally loyal to the 42nd and the rebellion’s cause.
(coldy, cutting in) Digiscreens can be hacked and traced, Reaper.
(directly) The only hitch in the plan. There should be a couple cruisers, maaaaybe a destroyer, but that’s it.. I mean without geosat images to--[is cut off]
(hushed voice, bored) My forward team didn’t see anything different.
(quietly, bemused) [chuckles] Wooow.
This scene starts it off. Several rebels are hiding behind a building outside of a military stronghold, waiting for word to attack. There's more lines in this, but these are the first three. Can be young, old, any accent, in fact I prefer different accents across the board, so if you know any, try em out.
Rebel #1: (very hushed) Man there's no way you're sleeping with her. You couldn't get any ass if your life depended on it!
Rebel #1: (very hushed, sarcastic) Haaaa haaa, laugh it up.
Rebel #3: (quietly chuckling to himself
Ideally, the idea is to develop some renderings of the characters, maybe even do a few comics to develop the characters and fill in the gaps between the songs.. but for right now I'd settle for drawings of all the characters!
i'm going for an old school Norm Breyfogle/legends of the dark knight style. vivd color, dark tones.
Say something you think would fit
Ideally, youtube videos featuring some of the songs or scenes would be amazing. What i'm doing can create its own scene, but for the youtube fanatics, this could help too. An animated comic, like the dead space one would look super cool.
