The Story of Hisao and Hanako: a Katawa Shoujo Fandub
Project Overview
- Have either Discord or Skype (I need a way to communicate with my actors and these two platforms are by far the easiest method. If you are casted I'll message you asking for your username to one or both of these platforms so I can discuss with you about questions you might have, line delivery dates, and whatever else.)
- Good quality microphone (Blue Snowball/Yeti quality or higher would be best, and try to eliminate as much background noise as possible as it saves me a lot of time in post.)
- Dedication (Even if we'll only be going from the start of the game to Hanako's good ending, this is still a visual novel, so im gonna need dedicated actors who will stick with the project to the end.)
- Lines are delivered on or before the date given to the actor by me (Obviously, this isn't an end all be all, but at least tell me if you need more time and I'll most likely be understanding about it.)
-Passion and care for the project (If you aren't interested thats fine! all I ask is that if you audition and get casted, take this seriously and truly give it your all!)

Hanako Ikezawa was victim to an accidental house fire that sadly took the life of her father, and left the entire right side of her body burned and disfigured. Since then she has been extremely anti social, to the point of sometimes even panicking from social contact. However, after meeting Hisao she opens up to him over time, and eventually falls in love with him! (at least in the route we're going to be dubbing.)
Voice Directions: As Hanako is a very nervous and shy character, I want her voice to reflect that. I'm looking for a voice that's high but soft, and is able to convey nervousness and anxiety very well.

Born blind and beautiful, Lilly Satou is Hanako's best friend and representitive of class 2-3. She shares an almost mother-daughter relationship with Hanako and often spends her free time drinking tea with her. Lilly first meets Hisao during her tea time and gradually becomes friends with him, and even may start to date him depending on the route the player picks.
Voice Directions: I would Imagine Lilly's voice to be very sweet, calm, and motherly, as this is definitely what her dialouge within the game conveys.

Misha is one of the more odd characters in Katawa Shoujo, not having any immediately noticable disabilitys. However, some fans have theorized that she may have some form of ADHD do to her hyperactive nature. Misha is loud, rambunctious, and not always the most intelligent, but a truly kind, caring, and passionate person who cares deeply for those around her. Misha also has a crush on her friend and fellow student council member Shizune, but we only learn about this in Shizune's path, so we won't be exploring that in our dub.
Voice Directions: Misha is, well... a bit of an airhead. So her voice should probably replicate such a personality. I'd like her voice to be upbeat cheery and full of emotion, but still able to sound a bit serious as all of Shizune's lines will be read by Misha, due to her being Shizune's interpreter.

The Doctor from the first scenes of the game, work load is EXTREMELY light as he is only needed for the first 20 minutes of the game.

Iwanako had a crush on Hisao and upon revealing her feelings, accidentaly caused his first heart attack.
Voice Directions: Once again, as Iwanako is only relevant for the first couple minutes of the game, I'll cast her more so depending on the acting as appose to the voice.

Another one of the possible love interests within the game, Emi Ibarazaki had an accident when she was young that required her legs to be amputated from the knee down and be replaced with prosthetics, but it actually helped her make her way to the top of the track team and because of this she views her disability as a reletively positive thing.
Voice Directions: Emi is young, charismatic, and very lively. I'd like her voice to be kind of child like with a high pitch and a lot of spunk, energy, and sass.

The last of the 5 love interests needing a voice for this dub is Rin Tezuka. Rin's arms were amputated down to small nubs due to a surgery required because of a birth defect, so she uses her feet and mouth to do everything, and due to this has to wear a boys uniform as a skirt would make things quite difficult. Rin has a tendency to get very existential and philosophical, getting lost in thoughts of abstract ideas and often confusing those around her with them.
Voice Directions: Due to Rin's nonchalant and deep thinking nature, I feel like her voice should be medium to low for a female, and generally lack emotion most of the time.

Kenji, Hisao's hallmate, is a lot of things. Intriguing, odd, akward, loud, but definitely not normal. Kenji would best be described as a Hikkikomori, someone who has shut themselves off from society and has become almost fully anti social.
Voice Directions: Kenji is a wierd guy, so his voice needs to fit such a personality. I'm looking for something pretty high pitched and nasally for a guy, as well as an actor who can portay Kenji's... less sane elements rather well.

The Nurse is the cheif of the medical staff at Yamaku Acadamy, he always seems to be in a happy mood and loves cracking jokes. He is well liked by the students for being caring and passionate about his job.
Voice Directions: looking for something upbeat and charasmatic, with a real positive attitude!

Akio Mutou is the homeroom and science teacher of class 3-3, and helps Hisao introduce himself to his new calssmates on his first day.
Voice Directions: I'd like to hear something gruff and scratchy with a low pitch, as well as the ability to convey both a serious and relaxed mood well.

A lot of people have put in a lot of time, effort, and money to make sure that you and every other student here can have the same level of education as your peers. For you to abuse that by throwing out advice, especially medical advice, is plain selfish.
Yuuko Shirakawa works as the schools librarian, as well as part time at a cafe, she is extremely clumsy and has to go to extensive lengths to not got fired. Yuuko constantly seems nervous and on edge, and often says oddly deppressing things when talking to people.
Voice Directions: I don't really care about the voice for Yuuko as much as I do the acting, just sound like a MiddleAge women and be able to portay nervousness well and that will be good enough.

Akira is Lilly's older sister that Hisao meets on his trip to Scotland with Hanako and Lilly.
Voice Directions: Akira is rather tomboyish in nature so I'd like to see a rather low voice for a female with very guyish mannerisms
