The Spectacular Spider-Man (2025) is a non-profit, non-official fan-continuation of the original show with the same name.
Hi! This casting call is for Season One of our fan-continuation of The Spectacular Spider-Man. This project will be created entirely in 3D spaces, with VIVE trackers used to track real human actors movements, and fully animated 3D animation sequences.
Currently, we are only casting for characters who will appear in the first episode. We aren't going to cast for the entire full season when it takes us a few months to produce one episode! You will be fully credited for your work, both with opening credits and ending credits.
STORY OVERVIEW
After the tragic murder of Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker gives up the Spider-Man mantle. As Peter deals with the loss of his true love, the city is forced to deal with the loss of its greatest protector, as all New York crime jumps at the power vacuum opened by Spider-Man and Tombstone's absence. New York gets a case of the blues when Peter, and the ones he cares most about, are put through their toughest battle yet.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We primarily communicate through Discord, but if you aren't familiar with Discord, that's okay! Communication via email is entirely okay. Keep in mind, we strongly recommend communication via our Discord server, as collaboration with fellow voice actors will be much easier.
This is a non-profit project, we are also indie filmmakers, so this will be unpaid work! This is purely a passion project both for the love of the character, the show, the comics, and the love of film.
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
Please submit clean voice recordings! Vocal clean-up is fine, but too much can bring down your audio quality.
Feel free to trim your lines to your best/favorite takes! If you want to give us a few takes, go ahead!
We will be making a full season with this show, so if you are cast, we'd appreciate if you stuck around for a re-occurring character!

A cold, calculated, bitter man. For the majority of this episode, Norman is suffering from total amnesia, so he'll be quite frantic/confused/panicked for certain scenes. Whereas in others, his persona will start to return, showing his coldness.
Norman will be a lead for this first episode.

Insane, manic and energetic. The Green Goblin is a loudmouthed, mentally insane character.
We're looking for a voice that can resemble Steve Blum's Green Goblin, or even Mark Hamill's Joker. It doesn't have to be exact, but something among those lines of creepy, loud, unsettling and jokey.
Rest assured, Parker, the only reason you could have broken free was because I wanted it so. (Playful, Angry)
Take a long look, Parker. Because this is the last face you are ever going to see. (Intimidating, Creepily Joyful)
A disappointment, just like my son. A pathetic snivelling loser who will never make anything of himself. (Rageful)
Peter Parker's beloved aunt. She is a kind, gentle and sweet elder woman. She's a strong willed, caring person and is always there for Peter, no matter what.

Peter's childhood best friend. Cold, insecure, yet tries to be the "funny guy" of the friend group.

I had already practically lost him when he got deep into Oscorp. Then..I actually lose him. Now? He's back and I..I don't even know what to think. Do we try again? I don't want to mess things up again, and I...I don't wanna lose him again. (Tired, scared)
Gwen said a similar thing, y'know. Little different, but, I called her last night and told her about it. And after, well, also losing her father to Spider-Man, she knew exactly what I needed to hear. (Cold, upset, snarky)
Peter's first love. An intelligent, quick-witted and kind woman. In this episode, she's trapped in a relationship with Harry Osborn, being manipulated to stay. She'll be tired, upset and worried throughout the episode.

She's quite the girl, "Petey". Where have you been keeping her? (Secretly jealous)
Son of Robbie Robertson. High school friend of Peter Parker's and usually hangs with the gang. Very laid back and relaxed, sometimes quieter. Quick to speak his mind and isn't afraid to tell the truth.
Randy doesn't have many lines in the first episode, but he will become a more prominent character as the series continues.

High School jock, now in college. Flash Thompson undergoes a transformation throughout this series, maturing and moving forward from being a bully. He's a closer friend to Peter and will be an occurring character throughout the show.
Flash is cocky, sarcastic, yet comes to be humble.
Keep in mind! We will absolutely accept a closer sounding voice to the show, but if you want to go for your own take on the character, go ahead! We'll absolutely accept that too.

Well, we just got a tip that Norman Osborn is somehow alive, and he's been moved to Memorial Hospital. Now, I don't know how a dead man just walks into the arms of hospitality seemingly fine. Could be fake, or could be a breaking story-- (Serious)

Huge, intimidating, scary. Yet sometimes friendly, jokey and maybe a little stupid. He's a powerhouse you certainly don't want to stand in the way of.

Strong willed, calculated and cautious. An excellent member of the police force and soon to be captain. She keeps her guard up and tends to stick to herself, though, she slowly becomes an ally to Spider-Man, albeit still skeptical of him.
Jean, in this portrayal, will be a POC. So we'd prefer a POC voice for her!

An anthropomorphic, terrifying cross species hunter, Kraven is one of Spideys deadliest foes. An aggressive, often times loud character.
