Welcome!
The "Skaian 413 Network" is a group that was founded to bring together various voice actors and actresses who have an insatiable love for the webcomic Homestuck.
We're specifically looking for voice actors and actresses, editors, and musicians who would like to take part in bringing the webcomic of Homestuck to life.
[Before you audition, please take a moment and read the requirements listed below. Failure to follow the requirements will result in your audition(s) being ignored and/or deleted completely]

1. Please have a decent mic with a working pop filter. We will not accept auditions that were submitted with either a headset mic, a laptop/computer mic, or phone's built-in mic.
We also ask that you have access to some sort of audio editing software. The less tinkering we have to do with your lines the easier it'll be on our editors.
2. Please give at least 2-3 takes of each line. We'd like to gauge how many different ways a line can be said under a different emotion.
3. Please be able to emote. We can't stress this one enough. Anybody can "do a voice". But it is those who can act and do a voice that we're looking for.
4. Please read the character's bio before you audition for them. The guidelines are written there for a reason.
5. Have fun and do your best!

We're looking for a voice that is similar to that of the narrator's voice heard in Kirby's Epic Yarn. We're essentially looking for a voice that is akin to that of a storybook teller.
Something rich, warm, and a bit comical would be preferred for this voice.
A young man stands in his bedroom. It just so happens that today, the 13th of April, 2009, is this young man's birthday. Though it was thirteen years ago he was given life, it is only today he will be given a name! What will the name of this young man be?
We're looking for a voice that is similar to that of a creepypasta reader's voice. Something really dark and mysterious sounding. CreepsMcPasta or CreepyPastaJr would be a great place to start for inspiration when coming up with a voice.
This young troll stands in his respiteblock. It just so happens that today, the 12th bilunar perigee of the 6th dark season's equinox, is the day of this young troll's larval awakening, also known as his wriggling day. Though it was six solar sweeps ago he was given life, it is only today he will be given a name! Six Alternian solar sweeps, for convenient reference, is equivalent to thirteen Earth years. Earth, also for convenient reference, is a planet that does not yet exist. What will the name of this young troll be?
We're looking for a voice that can sound a tad bit robotic and synthetic. An imitation of a GlaDos voice or the Handyman Unit voice from Sister Location would be a very much welcome route to take.

We're looking for a voice that can sound a bit dry but also a tad bit snarky. Don't over do it on the snark though. A good inspiration to draw from would be TotalSpiffAge's performance as Rose.

We're looking for a voice that is both laid-back and relaxed in tone. Nothing too monotone though. A couple good sources of inspiration to draw from would have to be both Octopimp and NormallyScott's respective performance(s) as Dave.

The best thing about how I did that is how it in no way will ever come back to bite us in the butt ever.
We're looking for a voice that is both mature but also a bit slurred. Roxy is canonically drunk a lot of the time. So slurred speech is what we need to hear. A few good sources to draw inspiration from would have to be either RedAsATomato's Roxy or Inky's "Broadway Roxy"
I can't hit on anybody. And appaprently I can entertain nary a frisky THOUGHT about anyboby! because apparentley evrybodies OFF LIMITS!!!!!

Then what else can I talk about? Like her occolt majyyks and stuff? Because I don't know a whole lot about the mayjjykks besides the fact that they're all real as stuff can get.
We're looking for a voice that is borderline male anime protagonist. Something EXTREMELY laid-back and chill. Quite possibly deep too in pitch. Either a Octobro voice or a Kyon voice from the Haruhi series would fit nicely for Dirk.

We're looking for a voice that is borderline comical and stretching too far to obtain an English accent. Nothing too cartoony though. Octopimp's performance as Jake English would be a good source to draw inspiration from.

We're looking for an overall sweet grandmotherly type of voice. Very warm, very friendly.
