The Melody of Balance: Wave 1 Casting
Project Overview
PLEASE READ BEFORE AUDITIONING
“A Melody of Balance” is a personal project that will be fully animated by myself and posted as reels / shorts on YouTube and Instagram! My channel name is Liidixzy, and I enjoy animating and voice acting a lot! This story follows a young lady named Lavinia, who’s a bard at a local Tavern. When the world is split into pieces, with the only promise of peace being a lost magical lyre, how will the world become whole? You’ll just have to find out! This story is split into “Acts” and currently, I have all of Act 1 written out. Each act has 10 chapters, and each chapter has a mini script that will fit into the timeframe to be made into shorts/reels. This is only the FIRST WAVE of casting, and most of the main characters haven’t even been introduced yet! There aren’t many roles yet, but each will most likely reappear in different Acts. If yours does not, you can also be put as extras during different acts, or audition for other roles! (I hope this all makes sense!) You have to be 13+ to audition, and if you get a major part you HAVE TO BE COMMITED!! This means turning in your lines on time, not being disrespectful, and if possible, little to no background noise for mics please! In your audition, please put YOUR DISCORD AND IF YOU ARE EITHER 18+ OR A MINOR (No need to be specific with your age!) Please rehearse every line at least TWICE in different tones for variety! For this role I’m looking for a spunkier, little girl voice! Young Lavinia is in all of the act 1 chapters, but might not be in much of the other acts unless it’s a flashback. She’s very determined and doesn’t like to take help easily. She’s incredibly stubborn, and I’d like that portrayed in the lines a little bit!

(Slightly scared voice) “It’s okay Bunnie…we’re safe now…”
(Defiantly) “Hey! I don’t need your help. I don’t need anyone’s help! Im perfectly fine on my own thank you very much! I’ll just be….taking this bread! That’s all! Don’t follow me, you hear me?! I’ll get going now…um…be afraid! You’re lucky I didn’t do anything to you this time!”
(Slyly) “They didn’t even notice I was in there! Hehehehe!”
Sienna is Lavinia’s adopted mother for Act 1, and most likely will be in some of the later acts as well! She’s quick to think, and is open to helping Lavinia whenever she needs it. I’m looking for a soothing, motherly voice for her, but also lighthearted as well!

“You’re very strong for your age. Enlighten me little one, what’s your name?”
“Carmen, stop being rude! Lavinia, pay no mind to her. Please stay. You can sleep in the main room. It’ll be much better than sleeping in the streets.”
(Lying) “Yes, she’s my daughter. This little devil got lost in the crowd and must’ve bumped into your cart. My apologies sir, it won’t happen again.”
Carmen is Sienna’s sister, and is always being sarcastic or witty! She’s in a good portion of act 1, and may reappear for a little bit of act 2 or 3. She’s a more minor role, but one of my personal favorites! I would like a mid-tone feminine voice for her, but would also be open to a higher one!

(Frustrated) “Sienna you’re either ridiculously stupid or……uh…. GAH!! I CANT COME UP WITH ANYTHING WITTY IM TOO MAD!!”
(Sarcastically) “Oh yippee, maybe we can throw in a nice cozy bed for her to sleep on too! Actually just take the house! It’s not like we need money for tax or anything!!”
“What were you thinking bringing another mouth to feed? We’re barely getting by as it is. If you don’t make sure she gets a job, so help me I’ll-“
He’s more of an extra than anything, with him only appearing in chapter 2-3 in act 1. If received, you might also be put down for some extra roles if you wish! H for this role, I’m looking for a deeper, manly voice, with a little bit of huskiness.

“Hey there, here’s the order you requested. I should charge more for the effort I went through to get it…”
“Hey! What are you doing here little girl?!”
“Yes… a little girl, about this tall. She looked like she was up to no good. Probably off stealing my goods….grrrrr…stinkin’ kids always getting into things they aren’t supposed to, causin’ a ruckus everywhere they step. You know, I was never too fond of kids myself…too much of a hassle if you ask me…….”
Another minor role, but most likely will reappear here and there. If casted, you have the choice to be put down as an extra too, since it’s a smaller role! I’m just looking for a generic female OR male voice!

“Ma’am is this your child? She’s in a mighty heap of trouble for the damage she’s caused here.”
(Speaking to fellow guard) “So I told him, you step away from my wife you- AUGH! What the-?!”
(Through gritted teeth) “Well aren’t you just a little piece of sssshhhhh…sunshine.”
Extras are in most chapters, but some as background voices! Any tone, gender, or age is acceptable! I’m not promising a whole lot of lines for Act 1, as some people might be put as Act 2 or 3 extras as well. You might be waiting a bit for the scripts for later acts, so be prepared!

(angry) “Ugh! Then what good are you to me?! Shoo!”
