The Marksbury Incident: Season 2

The Marksbury Incident: Season 2

Project Overview

In the aftermath of disaster, Victor Frankenstein, Christine Daae, and Henry Clerval all must cope with their own respective tragedies. Little do they know, their own demons aren’t the only ones they have to face.

The Marksbury Incident is a podcast that delves into classic stories and reimagines them in modern-day New England. Season Two brings in several more characters from classic horror literature, some roles having opportunities to recur in the future.

Hello, everyone! First off, let me begin by saying that I am absolutely blown away by the response we've gotten. I certainly didn't expect to get so many auditions, let alone so many from such talented actors. We will be reviewing the shortlist this Sunday (February 21st), and will be contacting accepted applicants via CastingCallClub shortly after, where we will give you a more in-depth description of the role. If we find an actor we feel would be better suited for another role in a future season, we may contact them with an opportunity to read for the character in question. Upon being accepted, you will have 48 hours to respond to confirm that you are still interested in the part. Once we get your reply, we will add you to the official Discord. Thank you all so much, and keep an eye out for future casting! --Victor Stark

  • I wouldn't say that I loved her. We weren't at that point yet, the relationship had barely just started. But I didn't doubt for a moment that we could end up at that point someday, if we played our cards right. Then he showed up. I trusted him, I thought the world of him. Then I found out the truth, found out what he was. And if I couldn't have her back, you can be damn sure that I was at least going to make him suffer.

"The Paramour" has lived in her small town all her life, and while she longs for excitement, her fear of the unknown keeps her from venturing outside of her comfort zone. Lately, she has been thinking of an old friend who disappeared several years ago. She is bubbly and optimistic for everyone except herself. While she makes a brief cameo in Season 2, she will become more involved in Season 3. Transgender individuals, regardless of transition status, are welcome to apply.

  • Look, I know it's not exactly New York City, but really, it's not so bad! There's this antique shop on Main Street that's absolutely amazing, and maybe ten minutes away from there is my favorite coffee shop. Then there's the lighthouse, and... that's about it. But like I said. It's not so bad. Small town charm and all that, right?

  • Hey... it's me. I know this is a long shot, you may not even have this number anymore. But then, no one has ever answered and told me to stop calling, so I guess there's no harm in any of it. ...I miss you. I really do. I know we didn't exactly part on the best terms, and I'm sorry things went that way. I'm still worried about you. I just want to make sure that you're okay. Please... just be okay.

(Please note that this role deals with sensitive topics, including suicide. For more information, please feel free to contact us.)

"The Accused" was falsely charged with murder and, unable to cope, took her own life in her prison cell. She appears in occasional home videos. She is soft and kind-hearted, but should also be able to portray intense emotions (Distress, anger, etc.).

  • I know what you think I did. But I'm telling you, I loved him like he was my own family, why would I do something like that?! I told you exactly what I saw, and I know how it sounds. But there was something there! Everyone keeps saying they can't believe that I would kill him, and that's because I didn't! You can't tell me that that doesn't make you question it even a little!

"The Caretaker" is one of the most beloved citizens of Marksbury. He is always ready to lend a hand and make sure that everyone is okay while going through a rough time. Transgender individuals, regardless of transition status, are welcome to apply.

  • Now, I know that things have been hard. But I know you. I watched you grow up. And I know that whatever you're going through, you can fight your way past it. Remember what I told you three when you were kids? "Head up, hopes up." This may be worse than a scraped knee, but the sentiment's the same. Head up, hopes up, son. Tomorrow's another day.

"The Mentor" is a minor antagonist who has formed an allegiance with several other beings. Having seen potential in one would-be victim, he has since been training her so that she might get her revenge on another who has wronged her, as well as help bring forth the plans of someone they both hold in high regard. He should be charming when need be, but able to switch to a darker tone on a dime. Transgender individuals, regardless of transition status, are welcome to apply.

  • I was glad to get your invitation, I don't get out of the house much these days. Well, with everything going on. I'm sure you understand. You've always been so kind to me, my dear. It makes me wonder why that is. After all... you and I both know the real reason you asked me here, don't we? While I do appreciate the effort, I have to admit I'm disappointed. You truly don't understand what you've gotten yourself into, do you? And before you can even comprehend what it happening, the gravity of the situation will drag you down like a weighted corpse in the sea.

  • Please... please don't be scared. It's easier said than done, I know. But it's going to be okay. You're going to be okay, you hear me? Look at me, I want you to say it out loud. Say that you're going to be okay. Make yourself believe it as strongly as I do. And know that I'm always going to be here. Always.
