This is a rewrite of the 2000 Movie "Thomas and the magic railroad". the goal of this is to make a more faithful adaptation of the series, while still keeping the magic elements intact. this version will be a lot more focused on the actual engines, instead of the humans. It will be filmed with custom HO engines with the humans 3D animated and added to the footage.
Plot:
after running away from her astranged Grandpa, Lily stone ends up on the island of sodor where she meets Thomas and his friends. Together, they work to take down the evil Diesel 10 while solving the mystery of the Lost engine.

Lily is a young girl (13 in this version) and the main character of the film, with the biggest emotional journey and character arc. she's young and naieve, but also very sad deep down. her role is sort of a representation of being a fan of thomas/RWS. her voice should sound the same as in the original

Thomas is a little blue tank engine, and the star of this movie. his personality in this will be that of his season 5 persona; experienced and calm, but also still young and snarky. his voice will be based on ben smalls voice fior thomas in the UK dub of the show

The main viillain of the movie. the menacing, scheming, but also sometimes dumb giant diesel. he needs to always feel like he's up to something, and keeping secrets from even his fellow diesel. His voice in this will be based on Keith Scott's Diesel 10 voice.

the pompous and boastful express engine, who's grumpy and tries to stay professional. he has an important supporting role in the movie.

James is a very loud and proud red engine. he often boasts about his red paint, and has quite the ego. he always wants to be the best, but simply isn't that remarkable of an engine.

Henry is the big strong green engine. while mostly pompous anf boastful like gordon, he has a sweeter and more gentle side.

edward is a wise old steam engine, who has a major role helping thomas and lily on their adventure. his voice will be based on his UK CGI voice

Toby is the chill old steam tram. the "Cool uncle" type character, always chill and clearly very wise. he has a minor role in the movie. his voice will be the same as in the original TATMR

Mr conductor is a minor side character in the movie. Lily's eccentric uncle who gets taken by Diesel 10, hence why she joins thomas to take diesel 10 and PT boomer down. He will be characterized like ringo starrs portrayal of him in shining time statiom.

The two goofy henchmen of diesel 10, and the comic relief characters of the film. they will have the same voices as the original.

Devious diesel is an evil and sneaky. he's on diesel 10s team because he knows his way around the island, however he also picks up on the fact diesel 10 clearly has secret motivations. his voice will be based on his season 2 UK voice.

We diesels are revolutionary! we come to a yard and improve it.
he is the controller of the railway, giving all the engines their jobs and managing everything. he's authorative and commanding, but also a father figure to the engines. he has a minor role in the film

PT boomer is the big bad guy of the film, calling all the shots and commanding all the diesels. he's loud, rude, authoritative, and irredeemably evil.

Lady is the mysterious magical engine who the engines are on an adventure to find. she doesn't have many lines, as she only appears around the end. she has a very otherworldly but comforting presence, and her voice will be based on the voice of Britt alcroft.

the human characters will be animated in 2d, and meant to look semi-realistic. the human animators job is to, well, animate the humans.

since this will be filmed with tomy engines, we need the engines faces to be occasionally done over with CGI, like when they need a different expression. the mouths themselves won't move, but the eyes will. This role is for someone who can recreate the faces from the original series in 3D so that i can use them to give the characters new facial expressions. because this has happened about 5 times, no. this isn't a paid role at all. none of these roles are.

Thomas and friends is remembered fondly for its amazing music, and so it's important that the music in this movie is at least almost on par. with this film being a musical, there will be original scores you need to compose, but for the most part it'll be taking classic thomas music and redoing it in the TATMR style.

Thomas's faithful coaches. they're side characters in the film, and both basically have the same voice, but clarabels is a little lower.
