The Last Tsarevich
Project Overview
"The Last Tsarevich" is a musical that dramatizes the final years of the Russian Romanov dynasty, beginning with the death of the previous Tsar in 1894 and the subsequent ascension of Nicholas II. The project centers on the internal dynamics of the Romanov family, particularly the strain placed on Nicholas and Empress Alexandra as they grapple with the burdens of leadership, their intense focus on their son Alexei's hemophilia, and the complex, often tense relationships among their four daughters.
